  1. Hi... Tried EN many moons ago, then went with OneNote but EN's cloud and accessible anywhere features are bringing me back...Enough kudos... Is there a way to mark a note as "read-only" so I cannot accidentally erase or modify it? Thanks. Alex
  2. I love Evernote, but it's preventing me from putting in sensitive content. For example, I can't keep a personal journal notebook, because other people (i.e. girlfriend, family members, etc.) could one day be looking at those notes, especially since they know that I use Evernote often for many purposes. Evernote already has the ability to encrypt single notes. This is useful for things like storing passwords or other temporary sensitive content. But it's not practical to encrypt many notes one by one. I wish I could password-protect a whole notebook. This way, I can do a lot more with Evernote. If I can encrypt single notes, then why can't Evernote just allow me to encrypt entire notebooks? If reason behind this is because Evernote thinks one could lose a lot of data if a notebook password is forgotten, then perhaps Evernote can help recover the passwords through email. In the meantime, I'm stuck with using other apps (i.e. Pages, Day One, etc) to password-protect my content. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. Requesting the option to flag notes as read only My workaround is to convert the note to pdf edited; There’s also a contentClass field that I can update using a script on my Mac
  4. There should be an ability to lock individual notes with password/touch id as there in OneNote. Else its very dangerous to keep sensitive information like scanned passport, bill and receipts. Evernote still cannot become my one and only notebook app and I still have to depend on OneNote for keeping sensitive data. It might happen that you accidentally share one of your sensitive notes. If your note is password protected no one can open it.
  5. Many a times by mistake some of the text gets deleted , or the file which is dragged and dropped in the notes get deleted by mistake, i wish to have a protect function for all the content. the text should be protected by selecting it then press right click and click on protect, it can be deleted only after it is unprotected. similar drag and dropped file can be protected by right click and then click protect. To delete a file user have to right click on it then click unprotect then file can be deleted. This feature will make Evernote more useful Thanks for your support
  6. Is it possible to "lock" Evernote (or parts of it) to make private notes? In case someone uses your computer and tries to take a look into your notes. I found out, that Premium users can do this in iOS or Android, but what about on my Mac?
  7. Pretty much self-explanatory. Text can be encrypted on a desktop and viewed on mobile but not encrypted on mobile. I know this has been posted many times before but it does not seem to be an "idea" so i thought to make it one.
  8. Hi (Question is about Evernote's PC version) Imagine, I’m going to change a headline, add a few tags or so on, but I think I’ve changed or deleted a word, line or even a paragraph by chance by myself!, and I don’t know what was it and where section exactly has changed, removed or edited. Also this scenario can be happen by chance, like when I left the room and somebody like a child want to play with the computer and do it without they're aware of what they're doing to my job! How can I lock my body text/article while I edit its headline, add tags, or do something else on a note to prevent any human error on my text? I know “Encrypt selected text…” feature in right-click menu, but it hides text, I want visible text but can’t be edit / change by chance. In Adobe InDesign software, you can lock a text box to avoid changing its text accidentally, I’m looking for something like that in Evernote! J Thanks Masoud
  9. Hi- I've got a feature request - can we please have a passcode lock for the Evernote desktop client, like the one on the iOS app? I feel safe using Evernote on my iPhone, since I can protect it with a passcode. But if anyone ever takes my laptop or uses my desktop, they'd have access to all of my notes Thoughts? Thanks! -Ian
  10. There should be no " read only " lock on skitch documents. I NEED to add TAGS to my skitch documents or what's the point ?? Tagging is essential to Evernote yet skitch an Evernote product , you can't tag. Either inside skitch or inside Evernote .... I need to be able to add tags !!!! I shouldn't have to save my skitch as a jpeg then upload to add tags. Evernote is about convenience, not being able to tag skitch documents is unreal !!!!!
  11. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere: I can't find exactly what I am after. I am a relatively new Premium user. I deal with large PDFs of typed words - hundreds of pages at a time. I need to highlight and bookmark the relevant parts. At the moment I scan, OCR, then highlight and bookmark in Preview. Is there any way to simplify this in EN? I can put the document into EN, but I can't have the highlighter lock to lines of text: it's like a big wobbly pen rather than the tidy highlighting of lines or paragraphs I get in Preview. I can open the document in Preview (EN gives me the option) but (as I have seen elsewhere) the OCR is left behind. It looks as though, with 'Include Annotation Summary' checked I have all I need save for the tidy highlighter - any clues please? Thanks.
  12. Hello, I have a problem that a lot of my notes get their titles changed by accident. This can easily happen when searching as the cursor often is moved to the title field of the note. A change of title will in turn make it difficult to find back to the note. I spend a lot of my time in Evernote looking for notes that had their title changed by accident and changing the titles back to original. This is currently my biggest frustration with the program. I therefore request a lock for the not title, or a confirmation dialog, to protect the title from unintended edits.
  13. I did a quick look and didn't see this been posted before. I was surprised and disappointed to see that Evernote had no way to lock tags. Not only that, when I accidentally deleted a nested one, there was no undo function. l'm not saying this is necessarily a deal breaker, but as important as tags are to the meaning of notes, you'd think there would at least be a deletion warning or an undo feature.
  14. I am a premium user and have shared a notebook with my wife who has her own Evernote account and there is some strange behavior happening. First, I shared the notebook and allowed her to modify and invite others(I have checked this setting a couple of times). I went in from her phone and she can see the notebook and all of the notes. I was also able to select a note from her phone, update it, close out of the note, and it showed up changed on my phone. Now, when I go into the note from her phone(and all notes in that notebook for that matter), there is a little lock icon at the bottom and it's preventing her from being able to edit the note. Any help is appreciated
  15. Hi everyone! I've been having problems editing PDFs in my notes as of late. At first I was having an issue when making some annotations in preview from a PDF in a note. When I was done (or occasionally, as I was working) Evernote would hang for a long while (several minutes) and then suddenly pop back to life with the edited note. These PDFs were big (several megs), so I thought maybe it was the file size causing some problems. I hadn't had the issue in previous versions of Evernote, but whatever. Today, I was working with smaller PDFs (less than 200K), all single page. All I did was rotate the PDF as the scan put it upside down. When I did so, Evernote hung again for about 5 minutes with just the spinning pinwheel (in fact, it was still stuck as I started writing this post). Anytime I edit a PDF and save it, Evernote siezes up like this. The only way to ensure this doesn't completely destroy my work flow is to open all the PDFs I want to open at once and make all of my changes at one time. Evernote will still be stuck, but I can at least then still access the PDFs and edit them. Eventually, Evernote sorts this out and everything is ok, but only after a several minute break. Is this a known bug? Do I have something else weird going on? Any ideas? Thanks!
  16. I made a big mistake to deleted a tag with five level sub tags. now there are a big mess of notes So I think may be I can lock some elements(tag, note, etc) Elements with lock will not allow to be change. If I really want to changed, It has a menu like "file--> unlock .." and require a my password to comfirm What do you guys think about It? -------------------------------------------------------- I search the forums and wonder no one talk this before. am I the clumsy one alone?
