  1. I just selected and clipped some text in my browser. A note was generated in my Evernote for Windows desktop, but something odd happened: the body of the note has zero text, but I can see what I clipped in the thumbnail in List View (snippet or card). I tried the obvious: checked to see if somehow the text was the same color as the background, closed and opened Evernote, synched to my phone app (same issue there), but the problem persists. How would Evernote be sourcing the text information such that it would show in the thumbnail preview but not in the note, even across platforms? And how can I recover the note text in a usable form? I've attached a screen shot for clarity. Thanks...
  2. In the latest update for IPAD/IPOD, the CARD VIEW is gone, in favour for the LIST VIEW. This is very strange to me, from a workflow perspective, as you can have an overview of twice the amount of notes on a screen with card view than with list view. In list view you also use half the screen to access the note, so as enabling you to edit it whilst still seeing the list of notes. Now, this workflow may work for many, but I'd reckon there is a significant amount of people that like to edit their notes full screen ( using screen space for what is relevant at the moment ) , and so would go full screen anyway when editing notes. Is there an official statement to why CARD VIEW is gone ? I just can not seem to find a logical reason to defend it being gone from a workflow point of view..
  3. Hello everyone, I've noticed a problem on both my work and home computers (both are Windows 7 desktops). Sometimes when I'm working, the list view disappears from my evernote screen. It's like the list view got extra small but I can't resize it again. I can only see the open note at the top of the list. When I change to snippet or card view I can see everything fine, but I prefer list view for a bird's eye view. Is there any way to reset the list view screen to default size again? I attached a picture so you can see what it looks like. If you notice in the picture you can read "Sorry, no notes to display." in the small line between the note and list view. It says this even though I have 115 notes in Action Pending. Thanks in advance!
  4. Thanks for bringing back the over / under view of list and note text in 5.4.1 for Mac. This really helps out a great deal in most displays. It's just a lot more compact.
  5. I have Evernote running on a Mac and I prefer the List View. However, this doesn't seem to be available in Windows. Any plans to add this view option?
  6. I would like to be able to see a list of notes (instead of the "thumbnail" type of view) when using EN with iPad. Very similar to how the Windows Dekstop application works. This would allow me to see a very condensed list of notes rather than having to scroll through a long list of thumbnails. Then, when you find the note you want, you highlight it to see a full-screen version of it's content. I would also like list view on the HOME screen for All Notes, Notebooks, and Tags. Again, a condensed listing.
  7. On my laptop, by habit, I view my Evernote "library" as a list of titles (List View as opposed to Thumbnail View). This compact view of my notes makes it quick and efficient for me to scroll through my collection and select a note of interest. On my iPad, it appears I'm locked into an icon view. While scrolling on the iPad is quick, this view nonetheless suffers from a huge waste of screen real estate. I would prefer a simple list view (lines of text). They might be styled (as I do my web pages) with appropriate line-spacing to make them more easily "finger-selectable". But it would surely be an aid to efficiency were I not have to scroll through screens otherwise occupied by loads of grey space. Simple note title lists would be more appropriate, or at least, I'd appreciate the option to view it that way!
  8. Before the last update to 5.1.0, the display pane for the list view was on the bottom. After the upgrade, the display pane has moved over to the right hand side. I don't mind the new list view with the display pane on the right on my desktop since I have a wide screen monitor. HOWEVER, the new arrangement is a pain on my laptop. I used to have ten inches to display the create date, a fairly complete title, the last update date, the note size, and a few tags. Now, I have less than six inches which means that displaying the created and updated dates leaves me with some titles that are so abbreviated as to be nearly meaningless. Is there some magical menu entry or keystroke that will: 1) Move the display pane underneath the list pane so I have the full ten inches for the list? 2) Get rid of the display pane entirely? or 3) Get a horizontal scroll bar on the bottom of the list so I can scroll to see a complete title on my note?
  9. The view where the note list was on top and the preview was on bottom seems to be gone. Is this planned? I really liked that view.
  10. I wanted to try the Secret Weapon approach (http://www.thesecretweapon.org/), but I can't figure out how to display tags in the list view. I'm using Evernote for Mac (in German, if that matters) When I "right-click" on the top of the list, I can chose title, notebook, author etc - but not tags. Anyone know how to do this? Please?
  11. I've been using Evernote for a while but today it seemed to suddenly decide to keep the top bar of my MacBook Pro out of sight and only show notes in thumbnail view. All of the other choices are grayed out in the menus. I'm used to working with a list in the left selector window and a title bar on the right that lets me click on the note and adjust the title and notebook. The help files and online help topics don't seem to address this question. Can someone tell me what happened and how to change it back?
  12. Currently, I use the Snippit view the most. However, I would like to either have the list view in the same area, or be able to turn off the details under the Snippit View (show titles only). I have a lot of notes and would like to easily be able to select the note that I want via the Note Title. Thanks for listening and keep up the good work!
