  1. So far, you can only link one note to another. But you can't: Link one section of a note to another section of a note Link one section of a note to a section of another note EXAMPLE: Literally any wikipedia (<-- random example) page. After the intro description, there is a 'contents' box that links to itself later in a document. You can also click to links of sections of other pages on the site. OneNote already has this feature. I find OneNote awful BUT this feature is the one and only reason why I use OneNote over Evernote at work, and Evernote just for personal use. Please update your linking features!
  2. I'd like to paste hyperlinks into other software so I could quickly follow them in order to get to a specific Evernote note. The notes are stored locally, not shared. The whole thing would be a closed system on my computer only. If I right-click a note and select "Copy Note Link", paste the link elsewhere, then click it, Evernote opens the last Notebook that was there when it was last open. So it's just the list of notes in that notebook, with the first one in the list selected for preview. Pretty much just looks the same as launching Evernote.app. How do I really link to the specific note? If I use Spotlight to find the note and I double-click it in Finder, then Evernote launches, and on top of it comes that note in a separate window, spread to fill the entire screen. Linking to that file via Finder as a folder structure is a method, but it takes maneuvering and it'd be better if it didn't open multiple windows to Evernote, or expand that document, as it's hard to read when the text spreads all across the width of the screen.
  3. Is there any way to make the selection of a Note Link pop up a new window? I build long Notes that contain many hot links to other Notes. The problem is that this takes you into the new Note, and then you have lost your context in the Note you were previously in. I don't see a "Back" button to restore the previous context. I end up having to locate the Notebook, locate the Note, and then manually move the cursor down to where I started. This reduces the value of having those Note links a lot.
  4. It would be handy to be able to follow a link in the desktop software. For instance, OneNote for Windows will follow a pasted link right to the spot where the link was created. But in Evernote, it would be helpful to at least have a menu item like "Go To Link" in which a user could paste a web Evernote link and Evernote would go to the equivalent note in the desktop software. I use the desktop version and my friend uses the desktop version, but if I copy a link and he follows it, he has to go to the web version of Evernote. There are even ways that you could streamline the linking from the web. For instance, the Evernote site could rather than asking for the user to log in, send the user straight to the desktop version of the notebook. This could be accomplished several ways, but certainly easily via the Evernote browser plugin that many already have installed (which is nice, although the pop-ups can be a nuisance). Alternatively, you could have a way to go directly to a specific note via perhaps the Search box in Evernote. If you typed in, "Sample Notebook / My Notes" it could take you directly to the My Notes note in the Sample Notebook, regardless of what is currently displayed. Otherwise you have to navigate to the note by hand. Thanks for listening. Dan
  5. Whenever we click a link system asks a permission that you are navigating out of evernote. Do you want to continue ? I do not want that warning message, its just wastage of time. If i have clicked on link obviously i want to go there. There should be a way to switch it off
  6. I would like to be able to find my Evernore public Profile address URL please.
  7. I am using Evernote 6.8.7.6387 (306387) Public (CE Build ce-1.36.3494) on a Windows 10 machine and this morning I noticed a link to mysite.du.edu at the top. Could anyone please tell me what it is all about and how it suddenly appeared? Thanks in advance.

So that i do not change every box to format my text. 2 . i would like that in evernot there will be more stacks in one original stack. ( more folder in one stack). so that i can organice better my files and notes 3. i would like to make a link of one of the my notes on my computer desktop. 9. I love using clipper and I am working on doing more with it to reference todo items back to the emails they came from. However, the "Open Conversation in Gmail" link that clipper creates does not open properly when I click it from my Samsung S5 and open it in any of my mobile browsers (Chrome, Firefox, LastPass, Samsung Default) the link fails. I think this has something with the "u/" portion of the address. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/--------------- Has anyone figured this out? I am glad it works on my laptop, but that is really limiting me to this one option when I could also be working on my phone or tablet. Thanks.
  10. Hello everybody, is there any way to hyperlink to a notebook out of a note? Hope that anybody can contribute an idea. Thanks for your help.
  11. I've started using the Note Link feature a good bit, both in Evernote itself and outside. That is, I use Things, which allows you to drag in links, documents, etc. to a particular ToDo item. If I make a Note Link, paste it into another note in Evernote, and then do right-click, "copy link", then I get a link like this evernote:///view/467162679/s17/e6e14cd6-71f9-4dcb-91da-4616ee0061ad/e6e14cd6-71f9-4dcb-91da-4616ee0061ad/ And clicking on that in Things opens up the right note in Evernote. Perfect, though a bit cumbersome. However, if I use the keyboard shortcut to create a Note Link (which is automatically copied to the clipboard), I get a link like this https://www.evernote.com/shard/s17/nl/467162679/e6e14cd6-71f9-4dcb-91da-4616ee0061ad/ And when I click on that in Things, instead of taking me to my Evernote app, it loads a browser, and takes me to the Evernote log-in page. Obviously not what I want. My question Is there a way to generate the first kind of link from the Create Note Link keyboard shortcut?
  13. Hi, I am very new or relatively new to Evernote. I would like to know if I could read my notes with other applications.
  14. Hi, How do i turn off that annoying feature that has shown up in my Evernote, whenever my mouse cursor sits above a link. It is by far the most annoying thing since the invention of the paperclip in Microsoft word. Is there a way to turn this thing off? If not, there needs to be a setting IMMEDIATELY added. Thanks
  15. Does anyone have any good tips for me please? I use two macs (work & home) that are synced by Dropbox. I also use Evernote/Notes as a kind landing strip for projects and like to add 'file://' to the path to create links, e.g,. '/Users/work/Dropbox/untitled.txt' becomes 'file:///Users/work/Dropbox/untitled.txt'. This takes me from Evernote/Notes to the Dropbox file/folder. Great. But if I hit the link from home, the path is wrong (it's needs to be 'file:///Users/home/Dropbox/untitled.txt'). I know that I can replace the root directory with a tilde. So this means I could reformat the links that I use so that they use which ever machine I'm working on - this is what I want to achieve. But when I use the form 'file:///~/home/Dropbox/untitled.txt' from Evernote, the link doesn't work. Beyond changing my root directory names to match, can anyone suggest a way to achieve a single link format that works on both macs pls?
  16. Love Evernote, not interested in the competition thanks to your ability to cater to my needs quite intuitively without me having to think of options i might need myself in keeping my notes/admin but 1 feedback hard to find in trying to provide my feedback I had to search and user between 10-20 clicks to be able to come here and provide my feedback It might be an idea to provide a quick feedback option in a more centrally available place in the evernote personal environment. 2 link text in note creates hovering box when cursor flyover, very annoying when i put an http address link in a note, whenever i hover cursor over it, a floating box appears with the link repeated a bit under the original link text. When i have other text or space underneath it that I actually wanted to reach with my cursor, it becomes very annoying that I have to keep away with my mouse or try to avoid hovering over the link text in the first place, making it a real hassle to work efficiently within the note whenever I have a link text or more copied in it. 3 link warning for leaving evernote unnecessary in new tab on top, when i click on the link, it takes me to a new tab telling me i'll be leaving evernote, well, duh, why would i mind that in a new tab in the first place, that is fair warning if meant leaving my note environment, but that's still available in the original tab, so that also is unnecessary and creates extra clicks/actions. Thanks for taking note
  17. Dear all, I want to share one of my pdf document using a link. I want to know if who visits the link could see the date of the last modification of the paper, and if that date is shown forever. Moreover I want to be sure that they cannot modify that. Thus, sharing a note with a link, I want to know if: can people, visiting the link, see the note date of the last update? is the date of modification shown forever? is sure that no one can modify the note? Thanks
  18. It would be good if the web clipper had the ability to save the URL of a site as an option alongside bookmark and screenshot etc. This would be useful as often I want to save a site but be able to access the newest version of it. Furthermore, Evernote for Windows handles this very well when dragging a URL into a notebook, the link is saved as a note and the title of the page is picked out and used as the note title
  19. Okey I'll get right into it, I made some documents with links in them in Microsoft office word, saved it as PDF, dragged-and-dropped it Evernote, everything looks fine, except the links won't work, you can't click on them, or tap on them, so how do I fix this?
  20. I am comprising a note of notes which is analogous to a directory where each element is another directory under it or a leaf level note. I would like to accomplish either of two things: 1. By default to display the beginning of the content of the listed sub note (e.g. X number of beginning characters) in the parent note or 2. On mouse over a sub note in the parent note, to pop a small popup with a preview similar to the above Are either one of these two possible? Essentially, I am trying to use Evernote to create a hyperlinked directory of contents where there are more levels in the hierarchy than just notebook/note, in other words, more like a directory structure in an OS. The functionality I am asking for would help me see a short preview of what is in the children from a parent note. I am already linking child listings in a parent note to its own note and that works great.
  21. I need to access various specific notes from any of my Macs. I want to store them centrally to avoid duplicated data (which one is the 'original' problems) and access them easily, as needed. My need is by no means unique, as I discovered by searching the user groups and forum; yet no simple solution has arisen. It's true that some technically clever people can implement unique solutions for their own needs, but I, for one, lack those skills. I hope Evernote staff reads this forum because this posting is addressed to the Product Manager for the Mac OS software: It's up to you to prioritize requests and allocate internal resources to fix bugs, produce enhancements and provide functionality that should have reasonably been expected in the core product. If the solution were easy or obvious, you'd have done it by now; but since you already know it will take some analysis, programming and testing, and because you've heard this request over and over again, isn't it time you considered providing a solution? Thank you
  22. I inserted a few Evernote public share link in my Microsoft Word document and tested that those links work. However, when I save the doc in PDF and tried those links, I keep getting an error message, for all of those public share links. Does anyone else have the same problem and know how to make the link work in PDF? Thanks.
  23. I decided to go with the Beta Web version of Evernote but noticed that each note no longer has its own URL associated with it. I also noticed there's a place in "Info" for each note to "Set a URL." However, I'm not sure how that is supposed to work. What do I type into "Set a URL"? Does anyone know how to use this? I bookmark on Chrome one of my notes so I can access it quickly without having to open Evernote and then click the specific note, so it's annoying that I can no longer get a direct link. Also, whenever I open Evernote now, it defaults to creating a new note, adding another extra click I need to make each time to read my notes.
  24. When I clip a web article via evernote mobile in MERCURY PRO, links in the articles are also(of course) copied into my notes. The problem is,.... whenever I click the clipped hyperlink in the scrapped note, expecting evernote to open the link in MERCURY, it always opens in SAFARI. I haven't found any options to fix this setting yet. Is there any way for evernote to direct mercury-clipped link to MERCURY browser, not safari?????
  25. I was trying to connect evernote to my twitter account through the steps listed here; http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24605-kb-spotlight-how-to-link-your-twitter-account-to-evernote/ However, after following @myEN, it's not following me back & I haven't received a direct message.. Anyone knows what's up / has experienced this before? Thanks!
