  1. I have been a premium customer for years but never ran into this problem: evernote caps the number of folders-at 250. While in theory a limit is not unreasonable, what I find very objectionable is that I, a premium customer who pays $70/year, has the same limit as a person who opens a free account. In fact I think this may be the only major feature that does not upgrade as you go from free to plus to premium. I really think it is ridiculous and would expect to have a limit of at least 500 or 1000. Better yet would be no limit as this is kind of stupid anyway for paying customers. We should be given flexibility, not constraints when paying for a service.
  2. I'am premium user since 2010 and i have enough with the 250 limit for notebook ! (remember something like 640kb should be enough).
  3. Hi, can you please remove the upload limit within a note? Or please increase it up 500 MB. It´s bothering to split notes or to use the Google Drive function which doesn't even let you listen or watch files in a note.
  4. Problem: I uploaded/synced less than 2 Mb of files this morning, but my account shows that I used 23 Mb of my upload allocation by doing so. Basic configuration: EN Basic, using EN on Mac (EN 6.8 on MacOS 10.9.5) and iPad (EN current for iOS 8.3), notes added almost exclusively via the EN web clipper. Explanation: In both Jan'17 and Feb'17, I hit my upload limit faster than I've experienced in the past. In Feb, I reached my limit mid-month, in spite of trying to upload pages that were mostly text (very few graphics). So, for the 2nd half of Feb, I created 10 notes on my iPad without attempting to sync (white arrow in small green triangle in upper right hand corner of note summary remained during 2nd half of Feb). My account reset a couple of days ago on Mar 1st. Today, Mar 4, I synced the 10 files: one was 1.8 Mb in size, the remaining 9 totaled 71 Kb (size checked by using the info button for each note). Yet, my account info shows that I have only 37 Mb of upload left. The 2 Mb of files took 23 Mb of my upload allowance (a 100% inflation in size!! How can this be corrected?
  5. Hi I went through this forum about the posted topic, I do not want to post a general question here is the data that will help you appreciate that I will get 100k limit in few years on my notebook. Past two months I created 7k notes with about 200 tags. Little bit of background. 1. I am learning Sanskrit grammar which has about 4k rules and 2k verbal roots. Based on these two every word can be derived. There are no exceptions to that. 2. it is very structured language just like mathematics. 3. I am creating 1 note for each word derivation. in past two weeks I created more than100 notes. I know to exhaust 100k limit in a year one has to create 275 notes per day. Seems like a lot but when lot of people are contributing then that number gets smaller. My best guess is within two years as a team we will reach the limit, then what? I tried to see if I can use hyperlinks to link from other notebooks, it works in native Mac app but does not work in web version or on shared devices. If no one came across this limit then I guess I have to reach that limit and see myself
  6. Hello, I'm an Evernote Premium user, I use Noteshelf in iPad everyday and I have a lot of notebooks created with that App. From 3 days ago, sync failed, and this message appears in Noteshelf: "Sync failed with reason: Rate limit reached." If you visit the link below, Noteshelf explains: "Rate Limit ReachedEvernote server accepts only a certain number of requests from each user per hour. If you hit this hourly limit, you have to wait another hour to resume sync. If this is the error message you are seeing, just ignore it as the sync will automatically resume after some time." http://noteshelf-support.fluidtouch.biz/hc/en-us/articles/214847438-Common-Evernote-Sync-Error Can anyone help me with that? Thanks in advance for your help. Jam
  7. Hi, Evernote on my Mac has stopped letting me edit or create notes. When I try to type, a message pops up and says I've reached my upload limit. But when I look at my account info in the client settings, it says I have 37 MB (61%) remaining this month. On the web app and on my iOS devices it says the same, but I AM able to edit and make new notes from those. Only my Mac client won't let me edit/create notes. I've emptied the trash on the Mac client, and I've restarted the application and my computer, and re-synced. No change. Any help would be appreciated so I can start using my EN Mac client again!
  8. I'm fairly new to serious Evernote usage, so this may be a silly, pie-in-the-sky question, but I was just wanting to know exactly what Evernote means when they say there's a "100,000 tag limit". It's a bit hard to explain, so let's use a hypothetical scenario: I go to my completely empty tag list, and create 3 tags, "article", "book", and "movie". I now have 3 named categories of tags on my account. I then go and tag 4 notes with "article", 7 with "book", and 3 with "movie", for a total of 14 usages of tags on my account. In that case, what is the 100,000 tag limit referring to? Can I create 99,997 more named categories of tags, and apply them infinitely to as many notes as I want? Or, regardless of how many named categories I set up, am I only allowed to make 99,986 more individual usages of tags across my notes?
  9. Hi I started my evernote account in autumn last year and still use the free version with a limit of 60mb. At the beginning, it was more than enough for my needs, but during the last m I noted that every month i reached the limit earlier - without using evernote more (or saving more or bigger notes. It seemed to me very obvious, that every month I can save less data for the same 60mb limit. Since month's change of my acoount I watched closer: a few notes with text and a low-size image, which only needed a 1 mb locally, resulted in 15mb evernote-notes. It seems to confirm my impressions. therefore: has anyone noted this phenomena? I get the impression, that evernote somehow plays tricks so that you upgrade your version. while I would certainly to so, If my needs start to climb and I am aware, that one should not complain about a free program. nevertheless I also don't want to be tricked and expext the offered free limit to be real. If this is not the case, I want to rather leave evernote than to upgrade. would appreciate your inputs.
  10. My monthly upload limit is not resetting. I waited until it started a new motnhly cycle, but it remains full. I have restarted my computer and cleared the deleted folder. Any advice please? Thanks
  11. I mainly use Evernote to clip articles from websites, with no problem from 2010-2013. But in the last year or so I keep running out of upload capacity faster and faster. I still mainly clip from websites and even less compared to 2011-2013. Is there any way to see my remaining capacity? Because this doesn't feel right …
  12. The new clipper, in addition to being WAY too tiny of a font for my reasonably young eyes, doesnt allow you to edit the title, unlike the old one. This leads to doubling my data use. Just editing the title of something means a second uploading it to Evernote. Now I have to use double the data for each note. I am terrified of clipping images or larger files, because I know that I am in effect going to be doubling my usage if I dare to give them an accurate title other than the page name of the URL, which is the title that Evernote picks for me. Not to mention, it is highly unproductive to have to touch the item twice, first clipping it, then opening evernote and re-titling it. I feel like my data usage limit should more accurately be described as 500mb. Not 1gb.
  13. As a new user with a large amount of existing notes and documents that I like to get into Evernote, well...yesterday, I am wondering if there is a way to get an "initial data load" waiver for a price from Evernote? I'm importing documents a few at a time, but my email imports lend themselves to being done in bulk, hundreds at a time. I added and run a rule to my Mac OS X mail program to forward and delete email receipts for things i've ordered online over the years. It hit my email forwarding limit in almost no time at all. Where I work, when a new data processing job is added, there is a usually a special "initial data load" event where data send to use from the previous data processor is loaded into our system. Since it's so much larger and normal data processing loads, special precautions are taken to make sure that it goes smoothly as the storage, time, memory ,and CPU loads are way above the norm. If nothing else, it would be great for new users if you could purchase a one-time use bulk data load waiver to get started with Evernote. As it is, I'll have write up complicate rules to divide imports into small chunks, and safeguard againt emails being deleted before I can confirm that they were imported into Evernote.
  14. Hi all, I have created a shared notebook to share with a class of 27 students. When I first shared it, I created a public link. I then realized that it should not be public because some of the content is owned by vendors we purchase worksheets from, etc. After I deleted the public link, some of my students could no longer access it, while others had no problem. What gives? I noticed in the notebook that when I look under sharing properties, that some student's emails are black, and some are listed in grey... i wonder if this shows how they joined the notebook, and if they will lose access if I remove the public link. Thanks in advance for any help. I am really hoping that evernote will be the answer to all of my organizational problems! Sara
  15. I'm trying to maximize what I can get out of Evernote and have a few questions regarding the transfer limit (60 MB for a free account). If someone views a shared note on the web, does that go against my transfer limit? If I edit accounts while logged into EN Web, does that go against my limit or is the limit only for the EN Clients' transfers?
  16. I don't get it. Ever since the new Skitch came out, my upload limit has been hit. I just have notes in Evernote. I deleted all my skitch screen captures, but I'm still getting this limit hit. I can't find anywhere where it shoes what's being uploaded, how many mess and when and why? I don't need a bunch of screen captures that I send my team to be sync'd and eating up my text in evernote. I still want to be able to see what's the deal on what's using the upload limits. If there's no way around this I'm going to have to use another solution to keep my notes. Thanks!
  17. Hello, I love evernote, but an inconvenience has cropped up that (I'm sure) plagues many users. I've been using evernote as my primary note source, then onenote, then catch . The problem is I'm a college student and can't afford to be a premium member and exceed the 50mb size limit. I propose a method similar to Amazon prime, allowing students at universities to get a free year or so of added premium space- they can then continue to use premium space at a discounted price (as long as they're a student) then pay the full fee or simply revert back to the 50mb limit. With countless pdfs, powerpoints, pictures [anatomy, diagrams, charts, ect...) the small limit simply doesn't cut it. When I went on a study abroad trip in Europe, I pondered how wonderful it would be to log onto a tablet, or go to the library and have all my data ready to go. This would certainly attract many students to evernote. Please take this into consideration.
