  1. I need help getting back deleted notes. This happened a week or so ago. TLDR: I had a mixup with devices and my basic account. That resulted in me losing my notes. I still have the source .enml files, but can't open them. What do I do? I can't contact support with my basic account, so I'm writing here. --------- I have a basic account, so only 2 devices can be used. My laptop was associated with my account, but the motherboard broke, so I replaced it. That meant that my computer was recognized by Evernote as a new computer. So I removed my old computer, and logged into my new computer. That started me with a blank slate - I lost all my notes and notebooks from the web interface. I went to look on my mac to see if the library source files of the notes were there, and they were! They were not recognized by the Evernote app though. So the raw data is there, but it can't be opened by Evernote, and I've tried to use 3rd party solutions (Mac App: Alternote, Web App: http://enml-editor.ping13.net ) but they don't work. I tried uninstalling evernote, logging back in and out, rebooting, copying files, etc. Nothing works. Can I recover this data from Evernotes servers? How can I contact them without a paid account? --------- My goal: get my notes back. My Hope: I have the data on my desktop My request: how do I open / restore / import / view the source / get the text, etc. of my old notes? Freaked out! Help?
  2. A couple of years ago mgsxx announced the initial release of QEverCloud - the library implementing the Evernote SDK in a Qt-friendly way, using Qt's containers and data types. With QEverCloud you can easily interact with your Evernote account's notes, notebooks, tags and other various info from inside the Qt app using the library. QEverCloud is used by NixNote2, the unofficial Linux Evernote desktop client. About a year ago I took this project over and just recently the 3.0 release has hit the ground. Not much has changed from the functionality POV, my focus was on compatibility and the ease of packaging: the latest version of the library supports both Qt4 and Qt5 branches and within Qt5 it supports the use of either QtWebKit or QtWebEngine for OAuth. I've even created some packages for Linux, for now only for Debian Jessie, Linux Mint 17 and Fedora 24. More packages and packaging recipes for other OS and distros would hopefully follow. Everyone is welcome to try QEverCloud out and provide some feedback - questions, suggestions, problem reports, help with further packaging
  3. I'm interested in cataloging all the books in my personal library (well over a thousand books) and keeping that list in Evernote somehow. What would be an easy way to get all those titles into Evernote? Is there a decent barcode scanner that would sync well with Evernote to make the job easier? How do you manage your personal library? Can you recommend a great app that might work with Kindle?
  4. Hi, I'm fairly new to Evernote, but so many people I know are using it so it's time to join the club. I was curious has anyone scanned in their entire library of books yet? I was wondering if anyone had any tips on scanning their entire library of books and if they regret doing it or feel that it's better or not. I probably have about 100 books and I feel it's time to go all digital. I've been trying to create a paperless lifestyle and Evernote seems very awesome for this. Many people on here seem like they've been looking into this for a while. I scanned some old books at this place http://1dollarscan.com/ and was considering doing them all there. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Hi all. The company I work with just implemented Evernote for Business. I am able to access their Evernote through mine. I've been trying to create a Notebook for everyone (that should display in the Library), but all I seem to be doing is adding things to *my* own "business" notebook. I am not an admin. As the Content Manager, I am trying to create a notebook that will contain all of our content (new and past), and I don't want to create it in my notebook and then copy it over. Surely, there is a way to do this. I tried to find this topic via search and was unable to find an answer. My apologies if this is a redundant question/topic. Also, (Mac & PC user here), why can't I see the Library? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Sherree
  6. I know that Evernote is designed around the use of tags as your means to search through notes or notebooks, but I like to use notebook stacks as a way to keep notes seperated within a notebook. And obviously at this moment a user managing their own business notebooks can create a stack of business notebooks but this is where the problem comes in. My first problem is color. When I create a business stack, it doesn't keep its grey color, it changes to brown which is the color of our personal notebooks AND arranges it alphbetically with my personal notebooks and not my business notebooks. This is extremely annoying, and currently my only way to overcome this is to add a prefix to all my business stacks to help keep them organized together...this sucks. My second problem is sharing stacked notebooks to the business library. With the above mentioned idea of creating business stacks to help better manage notes, we would also like to publish this to the library. Because our notes/notebooks/stacks need to be accessed to every potential user within the company it would be very important for us to have organized stacks with appropriately labeled notebooks within. To give you an idea of our business environment, we are a Residential General Contractor. We would LIKE to impliment Evernote as a way for Project Managers, Site Supervisors, as well as office admin and upper level management to stay in sync with project folders as well as company documents. Currently we use Dropbox as a way to access our files but I personally feel that Evernote creates a more elegant way of storing documents as well as a more intuitive way to search, create, edit, delete, manage any and all content. However, I can't present my case until I can proove it and stand behind its capabilites. So over the last 6 or more months I have been using Evernote exclusively as a way to manage project's but because of these few limitations I have restrained from trying to impliment it company wide. So help me out, hopefully this can become part of the future releases. I love all the changes that have been made to Evernote thus far, lets make this another to cheer about!
  7. Hi, I'm very new to EN business and this forum so please excuse me if this has been answered elsewhere. I'm thinking about setting up EN Business and I want to share one notebook with people in & outside of my organization. It looks like users can also create notebooks to share or put in the library. That seems like it could end up being thousands of notebooks that may be filled with "stuff"? As the admin, can I approve of what is or isn't shared by others? Can I clean out the library if it gets cluttered with junk that others have put in there? Thanks so much! Marianne
  8. We just got started with EB in our small team of 4 people, but the company I work for has 6k employees... this is making me scratch my head about many things. I'll post about those later. Main question for now is, how can the Admin unpublish Business Notebooks from the Business Library if another user published it? The reason is that my small team thought it was a good idea to publish things that our whole team would like access to. Sounds great until you start thinking about another 100 people from my company getting on board one day with completely unrelated roles and now having access to possibly sensitive information. Long story short, I don't want to start using the Business Library now, if one day we have to go back and unpublish all of the Notebooks that only our small team should have access to. Can the admin do this or do we just need to ping people and train them when they publish something?
