  1. Hi Evernone, I currently work as a senior learning technology advisor in Perth Western Australia. I am doing some research on digital literacy in the context of teaching and learning. I am looking at digital tools trends education. I would love to hear from you if you are a teacher or a student using Evernote. Here are a few questions to start with Are you a teacher or student? Are you using Evernote in a language other than English? If you are teaching, what subject / year level (primary/secondary/tertiary/professional development and or technical college/further education) If you are a student/learning what subject / year etc Which country are you currently teaching/learning? How do you use Evernote? Teachers Repository ? Clipping lots of pages, storing documents. 360 tool (you're using it for pretty much everything) Please share your workflow Flipped Learning eLearning/blended learning Portfolio If you don't mind sharing your process please share your ideas. If you would prefer you can send me a private message that is fine. How do you use Evernote? Students - Repository ? Clipping lots of pages, storing documents. 360 tool (you're using it for pretty much everything) Please share your workflow Scratch pad: you do your drafts, collect evidence Portfolio If you don't mind sharing your process please share your ideas. If you would prefer you can send me a private message that is fine. This is a preliminary questionnaire and I will develop a much more comprehensive one depending on the replies. I can keep you updated if you wish so please message me your email address so that I can contact you in the future. Thank you
  2. Evernote is already used by many as a study, research, and creative tool. Its power as a learning acquisition tool could be drastically increased with an incremental learning tool; currently, the only other company using this method is the famed Supermemo, but its interface is far less developed than Evernote. I suggest adding an "incremental reading" option to the web-clipper tool, whereby one can highlight important text right within the web-page window, and when saved, it's grouped into a separate incremental reading notebook that provides prompts on when to continue reading articles at the place you left off. Incremental reading is one of the most powerful learning tools available to date--surprisingly, not many people know about this. Essentially, incremental reading is a method of breaking extensive knowledge resources down into component parts that can be assimilated into long-term memory in small increments. Rather than reading a twenty-page research article in a single sitting, one could break that into smaller 5-minute bites spread over a few weeks. This approach leverages the concept of "spaced repetition," which has been scientifically proven to drastically improve knowledge consolidation and recall. You can read more about incremental reading and spaced repetition here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incremental_reading

We will talk about the recent enhancements Evernote has rolled out on it’s platform and share some practical uses on how to use Evernote, (i.e. on your phone or desktop) in everyday business and life.
  4. My math instructor has uploaded livescribe recordings in Evernote. I asked for "permission to access" and she granted it but I still cannot access. I've tried different browsers, different computers, updating my browser. Any suggestions?
  5. Hello everyone, This is my first post here so go easy on me if I'm breaking any rules. I am a premium Evernote user and I absolutely love Evernote. I use Evernote for studying and since I really like to organize all the information I'm about to learn, Evernote helps a lot in that regard. I have a question if you guys don't mind. I have some material on Evernote that I need to memorize. Is there anyway that I could make flashcards with Evernote. Something similar to Anki like fill the gap questions or just normal flashcards? Is there a way to replace keywords in the text with '....' for example and then when I hover the mouse over the gap, I could see the actual word? I tried to use Studyblue but for some reason it's not connecting to my Evernote account and I've emailed them several times but no answer. I appreciate your help.
  6. So guys, need your help, im going to college again(nutrition) and i want to be more paperless and efficient, beside that i like studying different kind of subjects, but unfortunately i have to keep printing pdfs for annotation and things like that, i also have a notebook with me for frequent annotations on things i find interesting, or read, saw somewhere. My main question is, which could be the right device for that use, handwriting notes, annotate on pdfs, draw, read ebook and make annotations there(points, arrows, handwritten notes, post its), save web articles for studying, ill use the evernote to keep all of them in the same place, but i need the manual thing on a portable device or ill start to get way too much mechanic and not creative, i like mind maping, drawing, highlighting, colors, for my learning. From what i saw, the ipad pro together with the notability app or the good notes 4 would be a good call(i heard those are good together with the evernote), but im new in this world and i want some suggestions, thats it, i currently have a lg g4, and this would be my first apple device maybe, need help. Edit: I already have a dell notebook for when i need a true desktop.
  7. Hi. Would please let me know how to handle multiple projects and structure the content with Evernote for Windows. I have few notebooks as suggested by David Allen. My window at Evernote was customized to show 3 parts, panel on the left, cards of the projects in the middle and detais of notes in the right. One of these is for example "Projects Personal" and on such logical place it I have created Project 1 and so forth, and under this notebook called Project 1 I would like to add major milestones as the major steps I need to accomplished and wanted to be able to view on my center and also right of my Evernote window every tasks that belongs to each unique project. Shortcutt inbox >Next Action > Projects Personal Project 1 Project 2 Project 3 SomewayMaybe Waiting For Per example in the middle I would be able to see all those notes about personal projects to be accomplished in the following weeks ahead. Phase 1 Project 1 Phase 2 Project 1 Phase 3 Project 1 Phase 4 Project 1 Phase 1 Project 2 Phase 2 Project 2 Phase 3 Project 2 As I am planning and adding what is necessary to be done for each project and need to track individual tasks that belongs to individual Phases of a specific Project x , the question for Community is how I add individual tasks to these major Phases and see make sure those tasks are seen under each respective phase? 9. I have a question or three. I am brand new to this. I'm initially impressed by what I see. I've been studying up on all sorts of things, watching youtube videos by smart and ignorant people alike. They all suggest they will tel you how to use EN in business, then they show you how they track their food choices. They all go thru the basics of creating a Note, then creating a Notebook, etc. I am wondering if someone can point me to a place that shows a method or two for setting up the tags for managing multiple projects, time, due dates, how the tags are useful, etc. I have these projects, and have tasks that I need to record duration for. It would nice to pull them out when done and create a bill in my database at the right time. Does this exist? Do I have to write it myself? I thought I heard that one can take a picture with a camera and OCR the info on the card into a note. I don't see a way to do this, I can't even seem to rotate the photo. Are these Premium features? Do they exist? Thanks for any and all help you can offer - to get me started.
  10. Hi, I have always used both Springpad and Evernote.... It seemed springpad did a lot of things better/easier, so I split my allegiance between the two. Now that Springpad is leaving I converted everything to Evernote but for the life of me can not figure out a couple of things. The first is I always saved my bookmarks in Springpad ... when they converted I see the underlined url... but when I click it nothing happens. I even tried to create new bookmarks and they don't seem to work either. What am I missing??? I was using latest firefox switched to chrome did not have any effect. I am running windows 7 , malware popup blocker antivirus. Also... I use to use Springpad for my Grocery List. I have tried for 10 days to figure out how to show / hide checked items on my shopping list. Finally gave up and switched to Google Keep for those lists. I still would like to know how to see or not see checked items if anyone knows how. Thanks, Debbie
  11. Hey Everyone, New to the forum. I am interested in using Evernote to learn more efficiently. I found myself reading about 3-4 hrs/day, but hardly remembering anything that I read.....my brain wasn't processing the information. In comes Evernote. I use the Web Clipper to clip articles to Evernote and then I take notes on the article as I read it. It may take longer for me to read an article, but I will actually process the information and learn more. Any tips/suggestions? What is the most efficient way to do this? Thanks, Evernote!
  12. I really want a .pdf or other form of printable learning solution for Evernote. I know there are "books" available at Amazon.com. I know there are readers that you can use to write little notes and highlight items. I'm 54 years old. I grew up with textbooks, not e-books. I want to begin to tear into Evernote and really get some ideas how to use it and how it works in a format that I can put into a binder and read, note, make circles, arrows, etc., on. Of course, no one wants to write .pdf's these days because the changes come quick and can be overwhelming. But I don't see any books being sold anymore that keep up with new topics, so what options do I have? Can anyone give me any? I know Evernote cannot control how items are sold on Amazon, so I know that Amazon can't give me an e-book I bought in .pdf format. And, after checking, I don't see any true way of peeling off a DRM so I can print out a book I purchased. So, with that said, any ideas of how I can find materials I can write on with pens, pencils, erasers and sticky arrows & tabs, etc.? Thanks to any and all that can come up with some ideas. Tk2nu
  13. Just getting started and find the official tutorials frustrating as many do NOT indicate that a feature is only available on a certain app, or that it works very differently in the desktop app vs mobile. Is there URL that lists features and which app has them? What suggestions do you have to newbie to avoid some of the frustration in learning the basics of EN? E.G. Reminders; copying image to a Note; shortcut keys seem to function differently depending on what app you are in. Windows 7 64 bit with desktop app Chrome extension iPhone 4s EN app web clipper app I often end up being a moderately power user for software and usually have a pretty good strategy for learning, but EN seems to have a number of road blocks. Perhaps I should focus first on the desktop app and branch out, but much of the power of EN is sync across multiple environments. Even posting this to forum where you must assign topic to one Category shows up the challenge in even posing the question. Thanks for helping to cut my learning curve. I look forward to loving EN, but am frustrated with some of the gotchas that I am falling into early on.
  14. As said in the title I want to suggest that the makers of Evernote should make another application called Evernote Music. In Evernote Music I have six suggestion of what would happen the application. Feature #1: The first feature of Evernote Music is already available in Evernote today. The feature is being able to take a picture of some sheet music ( either printed out on paper or a virtual copy in the computer) and the picture would be stored within Evernote. Feature #2: As a continuation from feature #1, the second feature would be the the pictures stored could be transformed into a program that the pictures would be made into a virtual copy that has the exact same notes, rests, dynamics, accidentals, excreta. And on this virtual copy use can use it to scroll and look at the music. Feature #3: Also a feature of this virtual copy (instead of just being able to look at the music and play it on and instrument of your choice) Evernote Music would be able to play the notes, rests, dynamics, accidentals, excreta with perfection. With an addition to this action in the settings you could be able to choose which instruments to use when the notes are played. I would like at the least these instruments to be able to choose: trombone, tuba, flute, piano, violin, bass, and trumpet. Feature #4: This feature is is the exact opposite of feature #3. In this feature the user would be able to play notes on an instrument and a program would be able to hear the notes and rests and would place the notes and rests onto a musical staff. plus the program would add accidentals if needed. The only problem I see is that the hearing of the instrument would have to be turned on and off manually and if wanted multiple instrument then they would need to play one at a time. Feature #5: This feature is about using feature #2 in that the user could be able to edit the notes, rests, dynamics, accidentals, excreta. In case of feature #4 messes up then the user could be able to change the problem. Feature #6: This feature is really simple to instal and use I would think. This feature is to be able to use a metronome. If Evernote Music uses a metronome that is able to change the beats of the metronome. Thank you for reading my ideas for a new Evernote app ideas and if you make Evernote Music a real app I hope you use all listed features in the description. Also please reply listing your opinions, what other instruments should be included, and suggestions for new features. With Evernote Music student can use it to help get the rhythm, right note, and can experiment with different rhythms.
  15. I am in the process of creating a tactile bilingual children book. I am using Evernote to manage this project. The project is simple : write, create and illustrate a tactile book as well as create a CD to teach French to preschoolers. My intentions are to get information, links and support from my online communities on Twitter, Facebook Evernote and other networking platforms, reading books and journals, contributions from friends and off course professionals. I have a notebook started but I would welcome any contribution. I can share my notebook with you. Can anyone help please? Thanks http://lestadpoles.wordpress.com/ @lestadpoles Sev
