  1. Hi all, I have the same problem that others voiced already back in 2017: "whenever I log into the computer Evernote also starts even though I do not have this option checked in preferences. I believe that the length of time it takes for Evernote to load hinders my ability to immediately work. The time that Evernote takes to load when I log on is unreasonable long and I would like to change this. How can I turn off loading when I log in? As I said previously, this option is NOT checked in preferences." Sadly all posts evolving around this very topic are closed for further comments, and the promise was that the Evernote Team was going to look into it. Can somebody please clue me if there is a solution? ( The box to lauch on start-up is unchecked! )
  2. When I open the Desktop Evernote application on Windows 10, the first note I see when it opens is the oldest note in my default-set notebook. I have a "Daily" notebook where I make a new note for each day. I would like for it to default to my most recent note, most likely the one from the previous workday. Is there a way I can configure this? Thank you!
  3. I'm using my personal Evernote account at work. Most of us do and it's ok. However, I noticed that recently, when I launch it, it automatically opens and there's no request for a password. I haven't changed my Keychain Access or anything in Preferences. I need that privacy of a password at launch for Evernote. How do I make that happen now? Thanks in advance!
  4. I've downloaded Clipper for Chrome. The elephant icon is sitting on my tool bar but when I click on it nothing happens. It works perfectly well when I use it on my mac but I'm trying to use it on a laptop with Windows installed.
  5. Not a major issue, but since upgrading to OS X Mavericks (from 10.8) I've noticed it takes several seconds longer for Evernote to launch. Not sure if that's because of the new power saving features in the OS (timer coalescing and App Nap and whatnot) or what. System specs: MacBook Pro with Retina, 2.7GHz i7, 16GB RAM, SSD. Anyone else experiencing the same thing...? Update: Just found that if you hit COMMAND+I while selecting the Evernote icon in Finder, the pop-up box has an option allowing you to "Prevent App Nap." I checked that box and sure enough Evernote started up faster. Not sure if this is coincidence (since Evernote might have been cached and thus launched faster) or what...
  6. I am on Windows 7 and when I launch Evernote I get a Fatal error with no error code. I have sent the details multiple times to Evernote, but not gotten a response. I have unistalled Evernote and reinstalled the current version three times and am still getting this error message. Since there is no error code, I'm not sure how much more I can report
  7. Today I tried updating Evernote ... and afterwards, it wouldn't open (or let me reinstall it). Here's the solution that worked for me: Background: I attempted to update Evernote (on my mac) to the latest version, 5.0.2 (from 5.0.1). I downloaded (and ran) the update. It showed "migrating notes" ... but once it finished, Evernote never opened. I tried rebooting and that didn't help. I tried deleting Evernote & re-downloading the latest version and that didn't work either. Below are TWO different solutions that I got from Evernote support - the first one DID NOT work for me. Fortunately, the second one did - BUT - there is a drawback to method #2 (you'll need to resync everything back down). In any event before doing either, chat with Evernote support first to see which (if either) they recommend for you: Method #1 - (this didn't work for me, but might for you): Quit Evernote from the elephant icon in the Menu Bar Drag the Evernote application to the system Trash Reboot your Mac Download and install the latest version of the Mac client: http://www.evernote....ile=EvernoteMac When you open the download, make sure to drag the Evernote icon into the Applications folder instead of running it from within the installer package. Eject the disk image and delete the installer file before you run Evernote. Method #2 - this one DID WORK for me: (but if you go this route, be advised that Evernote will be empty and you will need to re-sync everything back down). My Evernote is many gigs in size, and is still syncing several hours later - but - it is nearly 75% done and looking fine). Here's method #2: Don't forget that while we work on this you can access your synced notes online at www.evernote.com. We would like to have you completely delete all traces of Evernote and then try to install again. First verify that all your notes have synced. If you have unsynced or local only notes you will need to export these and back them up in another location prior to uninstalling Evernote in this manner. Failure to back up local only or unsynced notes will result in the loss of these notes. Once ready, please download and use the following program to uninstall Evernote: http://onnati.net/apptrap/ Reboot your computer. Once you’ve rebooted, Simply drag the Evernote application to the Mac Trash and AppTrap will detect that you are uninstalling and remove all the correct files. Reboot your computer. Then, download and install the latest version of the Mac client: http://www.evernote....ile=EvernoteMac When you open our installer, make sure to drag the Evernote icon into the Applications folder instead of running it from within the installer package. Eject the disk image and delete the installer file before you run Evernote. Many thanks to Evernote Support - you guys are awesome!
