  1. Hello, I was wondering if there are any plans to add some kind of keyboard shortcut to access a color picker for text in the Windows desktop client. I know there's Ctrl+D to open a full text formatting dialog - not sure how it is in Mac but on Windows 7 it opens up a horrible Win'95-esque dialog with an unchangeable palette of colors that are just about the ugliest ones available on the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The Evernote native palette on the note toolbar is much nicer, but can only be accessed via the mouse as far as I'm aware. I would love it if a quick and handy text-color-modding keyboard shortcut existed, since it would make coloring up my text so much easier if I could do it using just the keyboard.
  2. Hey y'all, I'm running Evernote on Mac and was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut to move the focus to the list while in list view? I searched this forum and the help documents but couldn't find anything (so please excuse if I was just too dim to find it ;-) Thanks!
  3. So the official Evernote keyboard shortcuts guide says there is a shotcut to increase/decrease font size of selected text. But I have never been able to get that to work. And I know this has been a problem that's existed for some time. Is there any fix for this on the horizon? Thanks!
  4. I transcribe my Evernote audio notes once a week from within Evernote, pressing play on the audio note and then transcribing right below. However, sometimes I need to pause the audio to catch up. Taking my hands off the keyboard to press 'Pause' with the mouse is extremely inconvenient and I cannot seem to find a keyboard shortcut to pause the audio. Is there a keyboard shortcut to pause Evernote Audio Notes on the Mac Evernote client?
  5. NEED Keyboard shortcuts to access Reminders, (as well as Send a Copy aka Email Note). Can I recommend Control+r Also, setting certain set times to have notes remind you, in the style of Google Inbox, would be great. "This Evening", "Tomorrow Morning", etc. -Ben S.
  6. Is anyone aware of a hotkey to add a reminder to a currently selected note? If not, I sure hope the EN team will either add a hotkey, or at least put "add reminder" somewhere in the menu bar so I can create my own using OSX's keyboard prefs.
  7. Hi, Does anyone have a comprehensive list of the keyboard shortcuts for Web Beta? I can report that ctrl+b, ctrl+i, and ctrl+u work as expected. ctrl+1 starts a new line. Keyboard shortcuts for bulleted/numbered lists would be greatly useful. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  8. It's taken me three days of troubleshooting and sys restores to figure this out, so I want to post it fyi for anybody with the same issue. Be great if someone knows a fix, but I've had to simply uninstall EN to get system keyboard shortcuts back. Can't find any related posts in the forums. Here's the history: Noticed a couple weeks ago that some, later all, of the basic cut, paste, select all, undo kinds of shortcuts--the simple control+key ones--stopped working, first between programs, then within a single program (Chrome as a paste to the search field, for example) or a doc (cut/paste, copy/paste). The number of shortcuts that died increased over a few days. I had always used EN in a browser on this laptop, while all my other devices (Mac, another PC, iPad) have the resident program. So for no particular reason I had recently installed EN to the Win 7 laptop. Everywhere I have it, EN has been stable and problem-free, so I didn't make any connection between EN and the W7 shortcuts issue. I figured it was a sys problem, some driver or registry foulup or who-know-what. Scanned using Avast, Malwarebites, MSE, and a couple of online services, got rid of a few hinky but not deadly problems, but the shortcut problem continued. I'll skip all the hair-tearing next steps and cut to the chase: I wound up doing a sys restore, which did not fix, then another older restore from before the EN and a couple other download/installs. Got the sys shortcuts back, so went on to reinstall a handful of downloaded files, testing sys shortcuts after each install, No problem until EN, and then Poof!, no shortcuts. To double check, I restored again, shortcuts worked, installed EN only, shortcuts dead. As I said, it would be great if someone has solved this, but just wanted to let anyone with the same problem know this is the only thing that finally worked. I'll just have to use EN from a browser on that machine, maybe try a newer version in a few months. Still a happy EN user....
  9. Evernote v5.4.4 OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 I'm having trouble with setting up keyboard shortcuts for a the 'Open Note in Separate Window' action. No matter my keyboard shortcut combination, it will not open the note in a separate window. I've made sure to type it out exactly as it appears in the right-click drop down menu and the drop down menu from the top under 'Note'. Right now I have it set to open in a separate window when I hit the option key and then return but it just doesn't seem to work regardless of the keyboard shortcut combination.(IMG attached) What's going on here?
  10. After I do a search using CTRL-SUPER-E, and selecting a note, how does one bring focus to the editor to start typing in the note, without going back to the mouse?
  11. So I'm a huge fan of keyboard shortcuts in my workflows. I use a modified GTD system in EN, with an "inbox" for all of the stuff I need to process. However, I am unable to stay on the keyboard completely and have to use the mouse. Specifically, if my cursor is blinking in the text, title, or tags sections, the delete key applies in those sections, and deletes the text / tags I'm working with, rather than deleting the note itself. So I still need to mouseover to the delete trashcan, click it, and then select the next note to either tag and file or delete. Am I missing something? Is there a way to delete a note with a keyboard shortcut while using the text editor? Secondly, and not really proper venue because its a web clipper complaint, I feel the need to vent: you can't web clip any more using just the keyboard. It requires both keyboard and mouse clicks. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
  12. Using Evernote 4, this was my go to action (F6). It would clear all tags, and show all notes. I also email myself notes multiple times throughout the day, so F9-F6-Tab-Home would get me to my latest notes right away. With Evernote 5, just hitting F6 makes Evernote unresponsive for a good few seconds sometimes. Anyone else having this issue?
  13. Hi, sometimes I alt+tab over to EN and my active area is somewhere other than the note itself Is there / are there (a) keyboard shortcut(s) to switch between the note editor and the note list? Thanks
  14. The windows version of Evernote has something feature: I know strike through is possible on the Mac (if you go into Format->Show Fonts or command+T), but it'd be nice to have a quick way to strike through text on the keyboard. Thanks!
  15. Control + Command + M (move to notebook) Please save my cursor location after I move a note, so I can continue working in my notebook without needing first to scroll to where I was prior to the move.
  16. Hi there, I like to reduce the use of mouse, and there is one action I see myself doing all the time in Evernote... and would love to hear if I can do this without using the mouse. I am using Mac, Lion. I have Version 3.0.6 (01/31/2012) build 221382 of Evernote. Here are the steps: 1. Clear the search (and go to all notes). 2. Focus on the search box. 3. Enter some text in the search bar to find some note(s). Let us say 8 notes match the search query. 4. (bonus) Go to, let us say, third note in the search results (out of 8 found). 5. Go in the edit area of the selected note, and change the note. 6. Save the note. That is all. I have a keyboard shortcut for 1+2 using Butler. 3 is just entering some text. I don't know how to do 4... change from first selected note in the index to second and third and later. 5 is the killer and my _main_ questions... Questions: How do I go to the edit area of the selected note? 6 is fine, just Cmd+S. Being able to do this just from keyboard will be very very effective (for me, and I am sure others would like this too). Is there a way to do this? Thanks, ~yogi
