  1. It would be nice if the Evernote version for desktop systems (Windows, OSX, etc) provide keyboard shortcuts for moving paragraphs up and down. This feature is available in e.g. the Notepad++ text editor (ctrl-shift-up and ctrl-shift-down) and in Eclipse (alt-up and alt-down), and once you start using it, it is very convenient to reorder things.
  2. I write my notes on Evernote for Windows Desktop. I write long notes, and I structure the content using indentation. As a result, I am constantly reaching for the mouse in order to click the "indent" and "outdent" icons in the text editor toolbar. Are there keyboard shortcuts for these? I discovered that the tab key inserts four leading spaces but I did not find a way to subtract four spaces (I tried shift + tab, ctrl + tab, etc.). Using spaces for indentation is less attractive than the "hard" indent you get from the toolbar, but I'd definitely settle for it. My arm is getting tired of reaching for the mouse! If there are no keyboard shortcuts for indent and outdent, then please consider this a new feature request!
  3. Hi all Really simple question: if I'm writing in a note and want to switch focus to the note list and go up/down, what is the keyboard route? And vice versa, say I select/highlight a note in note list how do I quickly jump the cursor into that note to edit with they keyboard? (Rather than clicking in the note with the mouse)? See my beautiful diagram below. I think it may involve the Tab key but not sure... Thanks! Charlie
  4. I've had a persistent problem of Evernote pre-sets interfering with keyboard shortcuts I'd set for my SketchApp. Even if I delete the Evernote desktop app, my keyboard shortcuts in SketchApp still attempts to open Evernote. I've had this problem for years and just resorted to deleting the app and initially that solved the problem but recently I re-downloaded Evernote again and instantly my keyboard shortcuts were all messed up. This time, though, deleting the app didn't do anything. So now when I use certain keyboard shortcuts it'll bring up system dialogs for Evernote related actions that can't be carried out because Evernote doesn't exist on my Mac. And they always come in threes... sad. Anyone know what's going on?
  5. What is the keyboard shortcut for the Evernote Web Clipper extension in Mavericks Safari? For example, the 1 Password extension opens with the keyboard shortcut command-\ I use the Evernote extension even more often than I use the 1 Password extension, so it is a pain to mouse all the way up and over to the extension's button. Please consider this a feature request if there is not currently a keyboard shortcut. Thanks!
  6. Would be great (more efficient) if there were a keyboard shortcut that provided the ability to insert rows and columns within tables. (And maybe even a shortcut to insert a basic table, 2x2?) Thanks for listening to this suggestion. John
  7. Greetings. As this is my first post, please be gentle. I searched the forum and this did not come up, so I apologize if this is a question asked a million-fold. I'm rockin' evernote 5.4.2 on a Mac. Is there a way to program a shortcut (without going to a 3rd party app like QuicKeys) to "Open Note In Separate Window?" One of my workflows that I use Evernote for involves me doing this a lot. My wingnut ideology is one that strives to keep my hands away from the mouse/trackpad as much as possible. Is there already a shortcut that I'm just missing? I dont' see it as an option in the preferences... And this is NOT to open a new note in a separate window, this is to open an existing one. Thanks!
  8. Hi, I'm using Evernote Web Clipper on Windows 7 64-bit with Chrome. I have the keyboard shortcuts enabled, however they do not work. When I press any of the shortcuts, Evernote Web Clipper does not respond. I have tried re-installing Chrome and Evernote Web Clipper, as well as disabling all other extensions. However, I am still having the problem. Please help, thank you.
  9. Is there a keyboard shortcut for just editing the current note in the Windows desktop client? The KB article "What are the keyboard shortcuts in Evernote for Windows" has shortcuts to set focus to just about everything EXCEPT the editing area! I've discovered that if I first press F3 to add a tag, and then press either Esc or Tab, focus moves to the editing area, but this is a kludge at best. What am I missing?!
  10. My primary use of Evernote involves copying the source URL from existing notes to paste into another program (email, document, etc). The only obvious way is to open the source URL to edit, select all, then copy/^C. Three steps. This is to suggest creating a single keystroke (best) or option in the right click menu to copy the source URL to the clipboard when in the desktop application. If you like that idea... how about a single keystroke stroke or option in the right click menu to copy "basic" information (title + source URL) ! In fact - you could easily let the user define what fields make up the "basic" information copied with that keystroke! Right now - moving selected information from Evernote is my BIGGEST barrier to using the software. Good luck!
  11. Is there a keyboard shortcut to go from the side panel to the note list? For example, lets say "shift+alt+n" and select a notebook. Now I want to use the arrow down to view the notes in the notebook. How do I toggle from the notebook list to the notes so I can use the arrows in the notes. I am using Snippet View. Thanks for your help!
  12. Are there any keys for turning pdf pages in the Windows version of Evernote or do you have to click the left and right arrow navigation buttons? It is easy enough to open in an external pdf viewer for easier navigation, but I thought I'd see if I was missing something.
  13. Hi! I'd like to make Evernote's quick entry/global new note shortcut function like OmniFocus's quick entry or nvAlt's workflow. I want to be able to bring up a new note window with a single keyboard shortcut (check!) enter my note, and then have everything go away. As it stands, when I make a new note, Evernote is brought to the fore and interrupts my workflow more than would otherwise be necessary. Thoughts?
