I know a fair bit of people use Google Drive and Google Docs. A lot of my clients who are prospective Evernote users are loving that. What I have gotten asked about a few times now is iCloud Drive integration and full support of .pages, .keynote, and .numbers file formats that Apple's iWork productivity suite uses. I have a few clients that are solitary and swear by those apps. I assume more have to be out there. I know I use Pages on occasion to make flyers and such. So what I am suggesting is support for those Apple iWork file formats in full, like Microsoft Office and Google Docs. If the iWork app is installed on a device then the file opens appropriately (like MS Office formats), but, otherwise, it would open via the web on icloud.com (like Google Docs do). I can not imagine people outside of macOS and iOS using it. But, just in the case that they did is why I suggest the latter. Thank you for your time.
Evernote lets you open attachments in another application, edit them, save them, and automatically re-imports/updates the edited attachment. Alas, with Apple Pages, this only seems to work one time out of four. Has anyone else noticed this problem/can someone reproduce? Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a note 2. Attach a Pages document to the note. Make it display inline. 3. Open the attached document in Pages by double-clicking the icon. 4. Change a letter in the Pages document, save it. 5. Observe whether the inline view of the Pages document updates in Evernote. If yes, repeat from step 1. On my setup, it worked (updated the document) the first time I tested it, but then no more. Interestingly, double-clicking the attachment icon does open the modified version of the document (Evernote's edit export, I guess). But syncing and verifying with Evernote Web shows that the document has not been updated in Evernote. I'm on a 2007 Macbook Pro with Mavericks. Edit: When deleting the file which is being opened in Pages from the temporary evernote exports folder, it works again (but only once). Looking forward to hearing if others can reproduce the problem. Edit 2: I'm using Pages 4.3 (iWork 09), not the dreaded "new" version, which uses a different file format.
Hi there Since I upgraded to the new iWork I get a warning that .zip files will be created cause they are packages. A few years ago this was the case but you could change it in the preferences not to save as packages. But there isn't a preference like this in the new one. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I can't see my Pages docs properly in Evernote any more. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s5/sh/b8107b82-a5f8-4c65-88fe-fd1a3f259870/abead12f0e881216ec64538af223b862 Thanks Deb
Hi, excuse my poor English, please. I'm a German native speaker. As I know it is possible to search docs edited by MSOffice, iWork and OpenOffice. But there is another very powerful office program from softmaker.com (*.tmd SMTextmaker, *.pmd SMPlanmaker, *.prd SMPresentations) Whom I should ask for implementing searching in softmaker documents in EN? Thanks, scope
