1. An exciting and much requested new feature for Evernote iOS is our new clipping capabilities with iOS 8! To set up you phone or tablet to clip web pages and share app content to Evernote: Sharing Button To add Evernote to the list of sharing options on your device, first tap the iOS sharing button, then follow these steps: Tap the iOS sharing button, then tap More to edit your sharing options. Tap the Evernote switch to add Evernote as a sharing extension and tap Done. Evernote appears in the list of apps your device can share to; Tap and drag Evernote if you'd like to move it to the front of the list. How do I clip and share web pages and content from other supported apps to Evernote? To save or share a web page, audio recording, photo, or any other content on your phone, follow these steps: Open the browser or app you’d like to share content from Tap the iOS sharing button (Chrome: Tap the menu options button on your device and tap the share Evernote option) Tap Evernote Once you've tapped Save, the web page or app content is clipped and shared to Evernote in the background. You have the option of selecting a notebook to save the clipped note to in Evernote. If you do not see Evernote as one of your sharing options, swipe through your apps until you see Evernote. You can tap and drag the Evernote app to the left so you don’t need to scroll to the end of the list. If you don’t see Evernote, make sure you’ve already added Evernote as a sharing extension. Clipping capabilities are available for Safari, Chrome, and other browsers that use the native sharing functionality and give you the option to share. (Note: To share on Chrome, tap three lines, then tap Share…) Learn more about clipping web pages on your mobile device in this Evernote Knowledge Base article https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/23193638
  2. It's been almost a year since Apple introduced Handoff to quickly switch devices and view the same item. Evernote is perfectly suited for this feature since it links to notes via URLs; in fact, I've set up a workaround in which I copy links and AirDrop them between devices, but why not simply support Handoff? It would greatly enhance my experience of Evernote and that of many of Evernote's customers, in my opinion. I understand that the staff at Evernote have to make tradeoffs in what they add and support, but my sense is that the implementation is fairly straightforward at this point, unless there's something obvious that I'm forgetting. Hope this is a possibility!
  3. I upgraded to iOS 8 on my iPhone and my iPad, and when the upgrade was complete, all of my notes in Evernote were gone. I've tried reinstalling the software, I've done searches, and I cannot get those notes back. No one seems to be able to help me, I contacted Evernote support and they told me they can't answer me personally, so they're closing the ticket. This is a big deal; I had four years worth of notes, and they're just gone, and no one at Evernote will assist me. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
  4. Will not stay open. Continually reverts back to the iPad home screen after about 30 seconds. Tried deleting and reinstalling and still the same problem. I had no problem with Evernote until vs 7.6.0.
  5. I can not get evernote to open on my new ipad. The screen hangs up at teh green opening screen. I see other people have this issue. Please help me resolve this.
  6. I've had this for a couple weeks now; I think it's since iOS8 (iPhone 5S). Anyone else had this, or know a solution? Nearly every time I open the app, the error in the photo shows. I click "Try again" and the box disappears but nothing happens; then I click the sync button (the round one) and it syncs perfectly. I wonder if it's an issue with background refresh or location services? I've tried turning them on and off, and reinstalling the app, but no difference. Internet connection is always fine. Similarly, I get a lot of "Conflicting modification ..." in my notes now, even though there is no difference between the original and the "conflicting" one.
  7. I have been using Evernote off and on for a while however recently I made the choice to stick with evernote for everything. I have an iPad Air with iOS 8.0.2 however I have been noticing issues with the app and curious if others are having them as well? 1) Spellcheck - It does not work in the Evernote app at all. I do not get any underlines or highlights on misspelled words. In other apps on my device the red underline shows up and I can select a correct or different word. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not help. 2) New Note Shortcuts - When I create a brand new note I am presented with a note screen that allows me to type information. Either using the onscreen keyboard or a bluetooth keyboard this works. However there is a shortcut menu at the bottom that looks like it should allow me to select bullets, lists and formatting of text however when I touch these icons they do not do anything. If I save the note and come back to it, then I can select those buttons. Why does it not work for brand new notes? 3) Keyboard Shortcuts - Along those same lines is a request for SHIFT+TAB to reduce the indent of a bullet list. TAB increases the bullet but SHIFT+TAB should reduce it, just like it does on a desktop 4) New Text Scrolling - When I am adding text to an existing note and get to the bottom of the page the text does not scroll up until I am typing below the screen. I can not longer see what I am typing and I have to manually scroll the note up to see. This should always leave a blank line at the bottom of the screen when I am typing and scroll up as needed. Just looking for help or thoughts on what seem to me like basic issues. Thank you!
  8. Hello, Several problems with webclipper on iOS 8 (Safari) 1) there is no way to enter tags for the article to be clipped. The interface allows the selection of a notebook but not entering a tag. 2) the webclipper icon can be ordered in the list of available media (e.g. email, Facebook, etc) in Safari. But that order does not stay as set. It changes next day. This is possibly a Safari problem under iOS 8. Not being able to enter tags to clipped articles is a big loss of feature for the new Evernote on iOS 8. Unfortunately the Evernote on iPad is still an orphan.
  9. With the Evernote widget, you can create notes from the Today View in the Notification center, even on a locked screen. Without needing to launch the Evernote app itself, you can now create new notes, save locally-viewed content such as web pages, photos, and audio recordings. The Evernote widget comes installed with Evernote for iPhone, iPad, and iPad Touch on version 7.5+ running iOS 8. The widget is not automatically enabled, so you’ll need to follow these steps to add it to the Notification Center on your device: 1. Enable ‘Access on Lock Screen' on your iOS device Go to iOS Settings > Control Center and enable ‘Access on Lock Screen' 2. Edit the notification center settings Swipe down from the top edge of the screen to bring up notifications in the ‘Today’ view Scroll down to the bottom of the screen, tap Edit, then tap + to add to the ’Today View’ list (tap and drag Evernote up and down to change the order it appears in the notifications list)You will need to run 7.5.0 at least once before the widget or extension will show up as an option in the menu. If you can’t see Evernote as an option after tapping More from the share panel or in the ‘Edit’ section of the notification center, make sure the device is unlocked, and you have started the Evernote app since upgrading.
  10. Hello. I am in a Windows environment at work, using OS X at home and iOS8 in between. EN on all platforms and OmniFocus on the Apple devices. Outlook at work is set up with a VBS that forwards any emails of my choice to Omnifocus. What I am missing, is a way to send stuff from my EN on Windows to Omnifocus. To do this, I downloaded the attached script from asianefficiency.com. This script is supposed to add notes tagged with "review"in EN, to OmniFocus and include a link directly to the note in the local EN app. By leaving the Mac at home on, with EN, Lingon 3 and Omnifocus running, all EN notes I tag with "review" in Windows at work should be synced back to EN on Mac at home and then be read by the Applescript and added to Omnifocus on the Mac. This is again synced to my iOS8 device, which I intend to use as my task manager at work. Now, it seems to more or less do this, but something strange is going on with the "review" tag in EN; it seems to be copied in increments ("review 1", "review 2", "review 3" etc..) and sometimes removed entirely and then changing tags on notes from "review" to one of these copied ones. The script will only touch notes tagged with "review", so for many notes it does not do anything. Also it deletes the tag entirely from EN. I want the tag to remain in the taglist and have tried with unassign instead of delete in the script, but that just leaves the tags on the notes, so Omnifocus keeps getting copies of the same notes over and over.. Im suspecting my issues may have something to do with multiple devices syncing EN together, creating conflicts, but I don´t know much about this stuff. Anybody who understands what is going on here and is able to help me? Evernote2Omnifocus.rtf
  11. Love the new extension for clipping in Safari, and it' segregation to be able to select the notebook, but i'd really like to be able to assign tags there also.

  13. Hi all, This morning we released Evernote for iOS 7.6.4, and it should be available to everyone in the App Store shortly. We've primarily focused this release on app hangs and app crashes plus we added a few features. New Features in 7.6.4: Added Work Chat as a configurable section on the home screen:We've moved the work chat icon on the home screen into it's own configurable section (along with Personal Notes, Notebooks, etc.). You can move this section up or down in your preferred order, enable/disable chat details (most recent chats), or disable this section (disabling this section will return the Work Chat icon to the top of the home screen).Other Work Chat improvements:Within a note or notebook, tapping the Work Chat icon will now launch the chat composer view. This is to make it clearer that you will be sharing that note or notebook with the selected recipients.iOS now supports receiving multiple notes in Work Chat. Desktop Evernote clients can send multiple notes, we wanted to make sure that the iOS app can receive them. You can now paste a list of email addresses in the "to" field to start a work chat.Improved Document Camera recognition:Updated our camera SDK to improve document recognition and help with Post-It® recognition.Notable bug fixes: Reduced frequently reported app hangs and crashes, including "hang on launch" and "blank note" issuesMoving notes from a personal notebook to a business notebook sometimes dropped attachmentsApp crashed when moving a business card to a business or shared notebookInvalid content sometimes created when duplicating a notePasting public/private note links should now appear as green (instead of blue)Fewer camera crashes for iOS 7.0 devicesYou can download the Evernote for iOS app from the App Store. We hope you like the latest release and are eager to hear your feedback. Cheers!

  16. My app continues to freeze. I've deleted it and downloaded it three times. I have an iPhone 6 running the most recent ISO 8.1.1. Anyone else having this problem?
  17. I am using Evernote on my iPad, and I created nine notebooks to start off without putting any data in them. One of my notebooks can be accesses very easy, but I have no idea where my other 8 went? It says I have a total of 9 notebooks to the right of the "notebooks" tab but I can not seem to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  18. I just recently switched over to an iPhone 6+. I noticed that I am missing several Tags on my phone that are on my laptop. Some of them are rather important for scheduling, etc. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks
  19. Hello - I've got several shared notebooks where content is tagged. The tags appear to sync between my devices, and sync to the people with whom the notebook is shared. However, tags aren't working as expected. Here's the specific example: I've got a 54 notes tagged "cocktails". They're all in a notebook shared with my wife. We're both premium users. Here's what I see: In my Mac client, I can click Tag (in the home sidebar), double-click cocktails in the tag list, and all (54) of the notes tagged cocktails appear in a list. Good! Sync to my iPad. The word "cocktails" appears in the tags list. Touch Tags from the iPad home, touch "cocktails" in the tag list. I get a screen saying "No notes found. You don't have any notes tagged with 'cocktails'." (Which is, of course, untrue - see above.) (I've also tagged them by the base alcohol - gin, vodka, .... The same behavior appears when I try to find a cocktail using one of those tags, e.g. touching gin gives me a "no notes found") I even went to the trouble of deleting a tag from a cocktail, syncing all devices, re-adding the "cocktails" tag from the iPad, syncing across all devices, and trying to find the recipe via the tag. Still no joy. Note: I've COMPLETELY reset my environment. Re-installing Evernote on my iPad triggered an ENTIRE reset of my ipad. (I restored it to factory defaults, installed it as a "new iPad", and restored applications a few at a time - finishing with Evernote, and a full re-sync. Evernote didn't _really_ require this; but after my iPad got excruciatingly slow after my iOS 8 update, I decided a full reset was in order.) So, now I have: - iOS 8.0.2 freshly installed on my iPad (2) - Evernote 7.5.1.311939 And I can't get a list of all my cocktails via the tags. Is it me, or is this capability not available with (shared) notebooks in Evernote? If not supported, can I get tag-recall back by taking the notes out of a shared notebook? -jb
  20. If you create a new notebook and do not immediately add a new note within it, Evernote will never display that notebook again in any of its lists, although it will hint that that notebook exists because it gives you an error message when you try to create it again, saying that new notebooks must have a unique name. There is no way to add notes or move the newly created notebook into a stack. This is true for both iPhone and iPad, and because Evernote web is not supported on the iOS browser, you can't proceed until you can get to a PC browser. This really REALLY SUCKS!!!!!
  21. Hi all, We released Evernote for iOS 7.6.1 Monday afternoon. This was a bug fix release, and the passcode lock issue was addressed. Let us know if you see any issues. You can download the Evernote for iOS app from the App Store. Cheers!
  22. I have a very strange problem. Its not only on my ipad but also on my fellow students ipad with evernote. When i create a new notebook i get into the notebook. But if i dont create a new note the notebook disappears from the list of notebooks while still taking up the name. If i do however create a note while the notebook is active it stays in the list. Why is my notebooks disappearing ? I´ve included a few photos of the problem Here you can see that the notebook link shows as containing 5 books http://imgur.com/FAWRvFE Here you see the content of the notebook page as only containing 3 books (last one being the trashcan) http://imgur.com/Fk8FIWR Anyone able to help me clarify this problem ?
  23. As soon as I installed iOS 8 and updated Evernote, the app never opens. What do I need to do to fix it?
  24. Hello, Firstly sorry if this is covered - I have looked .. .. I am using some attached (drag and drop into notes) excel spreadsheets - I have Office365 on my Mac and I am able to open the Evernote App and then double click the attachment - Office365 opens and I can edit - close Office365 and the updated spreadsheet updates within Evernote - works a treat. What I cannot replicate is the same method when using my iPhone - does anyone know if this is possible or perhaps point me in the right direction for a solution. On the iPhone I can open the spreadsheet but cannot find a way of saving the updated version into Evernote. I realise I can send it back as a new note then delete the old but not an elegant solution or as quick .. .. .. .. Many thanks, have a good day all!
  25. I have just started using Evernote and find that if I make a typing error there seems to be no automatic spelling suggestion to click on. If i spell incorrectly I have to replace the whole word and phrase - can't, for instance insert a single letter, comma etc. Is there a function I can turn on so that I get the same effect as using Word?
