  1. Using Evernote intensively on my iPhone, iPad and Chromebook, Imiss the following functions: - adjust "creation date" & "adjusted date" - merge selected notes I use these quite frequently - then I need to switch on my Windows laptop, as the Windows client does deliver these features.hen I scan in documents, I always adjust the creation date to the formal date on the document (NOT the date I added the note...) When are these features scheduled for Web client and/or iOS clients?
  2. There were no updates of Penultimate for a year now although there are lots of open issues: Insufficient support for Apple Pencil: It is still possible to leave marks with the hands. The input should be Pencil only - like it is in GoodNotes - to avoid any unwanted marks. Leaving the app (to the homescreen, to another app) and going back will bring you always to another page of the current note. Very annoying! Lasso cut & paste leaves marks. But on the other hand the functionality of Penultimate is not integrated fully in Evernote. So is there any future for Penultimate? Will there be any further updates? With the new iPad Pros and iOS 11 Apple Pencil became essential for note taking. As a subscriber of Evernote Premium I would like to know what is the answer of Evernote to this development.
  3. I must be mistaken..Evernote is touted as the biggest note app out there and all my notes come up as 'untitled note' as the app doesn't take the first line of the note as the title. I must be wrong? Surely they have not missed this basic feature? It's part of the ease of use and workflow built into every app, surely the developers thought of this? There have been so many updates for iOS, did i download an old version? Please tell me I'm wrong as this is bonkers to not have this feature. Why do i have to go through an extra step every time i create a note to add a title? Onenote has this. Why are the developers not listening to the customer base? https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24126-automatic-note-titles/page-4 https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/53886-please-bring-back-auto-titling-on-ipad-ios7/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/43071-feature-request-first-line-of-text-note-title-settings-option/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24512-prepopulated-title-field/?hl=%2Btitle+%2Bname https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/55564-set-note-title-to-selected-text/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/15999-first-line-of-note-as-note-title/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/16293-using-first-line-of-note-as-title/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/23360-help-question-about-note-titles/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/26857-request-use-first-line-as-note-title-when-title-is-not-entered/ Is there any word on when this is coming as other iterations of Evernote have it but the iOS version. This is the one basic thing a notebook app should do: be able to take down readable notes quickly as possible Do you know why my notebook looks like? untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled noteuntitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note Evernote, what's your response? See the threads above, this has been asked by customers for years. Please add this one line of code in the app to take the first line and put it as the title. Now Microsoft has Onenote out, you'll have to step it up.
  4. Hi Since upgrading to Evernote I can't view photos on the iPhone that I have saved within notes. They are still available to view in my evernote account when viewed on a computer. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Nick
  5. Maybe I am just missing it, but is there a way to merge notes on the iPad?
  6. Hello everyone, Evernote for iOS 8.22 is available in the App Store. Thank you in advance for your feedback! Fixed: - Bug fixes and performance improvements = the name of our new band
  7. Hello all! Evernote for iOS 8.21 is now available to the App Store! As always, any feedback is welcome! Improved - If the app seems a little zippier now, it’s not your imagination. We made some tweaks so your notes will load faster. - We take data security very seriously, so we made some updates to keep your information even more secure. Fixed - If you share a note with more than two people, you can now see all their email addresses on the share screen. That’ll help avoid any awkward sharing accidents. - Photos you add using the camera icon will now appear in chronological order. So “Wedding 2019” will appear after “Spring Break 2015”. Just like real life. - 'Unlock with Face ID’ will now let you create a photo note using 3D Touch. It didn’t do that before, which went against the whole spirit of ‘unlock.' - When you created an offline notebook, you sometimes got a message saying “Notebook downloading.” Was it downloading anything? No, but it won’t say that anymore.
  8. Hi there, You can print from within the Evernote App for iOS. To do this: 1. Open a the note you want to print and tap on the 'Share' icon: 2. From the 'Share Note' screen, tap on the Shareable link icon: 3. This will bring up the iOS Sharesheet. From there, tap on 'Print': 4. This should then take you to the print preview where you can select the desired printer, and then print the note: Hopefully this helps, and feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any other questions!
  9. All my notebooks are fully downloaded and with and iphone 7 and ipad 10.5 2017 some notes (maybe every fifth note) take 30 seconds to display. I just get a spinning circle in the middle of the note. Like I said every single notebook is fully downloaded and even if they weren't I just did a speed test and my connection is fast. Anyone else?
  10. For those interested in IOS scripting, these screenshots show the Evernote Actions available' The initial screen shows a menu of actions on the left You drag the action to the workspace on the right to form a sequence Below are Evernote Actions Get Notes Append to Note Create New Note Get Note Link Delete Notes
  11. Hi all, Nerves frayed here: So, my friend and I are trying to set up a shared Evernote account. He has the app on his Macbook Pro. He can log on. He can also log on through the webpage. I have a Macbook running Sierra. I set up an account and was able to log on through the browser, but when I try with the app, I get a dialogue box stating that there is an internet connection error (which there isn't since I can log on through the browser) and then a message that my username or password are incorrect (which they are not because I can log on through the browser). So, I then select reset password, and so it all starts again. My friend has himself sought help from the CS team but he's only being offered CS call times sometime in July. We don't want to wait until July. Nor June. Nor August. Is there anyway that I can actually use the Evernote app successfully on my laptop (it works on my iPhone). Thanks.
  12. It would be extremely helpful to be able highlight/mark text on Evernote for iPhone and iPad. I am actually quite shocked this feature doesn't already exist. If it does currently exist, please feel free to make fun of me for not being able to find the feature within the app.
  13. I searched and didn't see this feature request. last night on the tube I selected some text and was nudged ... all the selected text was deleted I know I can go to the laptop app and recover - provided I pay for Premium - however surely an undo button would make sense. I hardly ever use my laptop so an in-app function would help
  14. Hello, When sorting notes by date created, the newest Notes show up at the top. When sorting by title, the sort order is reversed. I would like to request that short order be customizable. I use dates (in the format of 161203, for a note created today), in the titles of my notes, and it would be very useful to be able to see the newest notes at the top, not just the bottom.
  15. Hi, I have a Evernote notebook with entries named with a specific datestamp as first word (e. g. 2016-09-21) and want to see last entries first so on desktop I set reverse alphabetical order. On desktop there is this option and it works. But on iOS I have to scroll down the whole list because there is no reverse order option?!?!Regards Ernst
  16. I have seen this topic discussed in older posts, but nothing recently. I have just started a process of daily logging for my job and can see the shortcuts for the D/T stamp on the PC, but has anything been done for the iOS app to give it that same functionality?
  17. How can I get all the past cards I have scanned in through Scannable to automatically go over to Contacts now that I have adjusted this setting?
  18. I'm a relatively new Evernote user and have been very pleased so far, except for one major shortcoming (at least in my humble opinion). There is no EASY way to access tags in the app. Yes, I can search, and yes, that works fairly well. But the one thing that would completely solve the problem would be to add a quick way to access the tag list on the home screen of the app. As it currently stands, under the top icons there is a space for Notes, Notebooks, and Work Chat. I would like to add a space for Tags under Notebooks and before Work Chat. Ideally I would also be able to remove the Work Chat section. I don't use Evernote in a collaborative way, so this is just wasted space. Thanks for "listening" to my request!
  19. Hi all! Evernote version 8.20 is now available on the App Store! We welcome any feedback, thanks! It was a day like any other. Until you tried to create a note in a shared notebook, and the app suddenly crashed. You fell to your knees, pounded your fists on the floor, and cried out in despair, “Whyyy? Why, in the name of all that is good and decent, can’t they just fix that?” We’ve got great news: we fixed that.
  20. I use Evernote daily & haven't encountered this problem before, but while typing additional details into a note, it suddenly started overwriting previous text. So now I can only type new text. I cannot go back and add to what's already there or correct a typo. It is not the "Insert" key doing this. As you click a letter to place the cursor there, it no longer blinks, it highlights the letter. Normally, if this happened by accident, simply hitting the left or right arrow keys would resolve this and you can type away. But this now only highlights the next or previous letter. This is extremely frustrating as well as time consuming & I don't know how to make it stop doing this. Did I accidentally turn this feature on or is this a glitch?
  21. Dear Evernote iOS development team, Please include nested tags / hierarchy into the iOS version! I finally made the move to become a premium user after discovering the the usefulness of tag nesting / hierarchy in organising notes on the Mac Evernote. Just about to port all my notes into evernote, then I realised the iOS version can't see the nested / heirarchy structure !! aagh and I've just paid for a whole year subscription ...bummer~ I understand there are tonnes of requests out there, but this seems to be a crucial notes organisation feature to be considered for inclusion? Please add this feature in line with the desktop apps please? My setup: Mac Evernote (on iMac) - for work at home iOS 8 Evernote (on iPad + keyboard) - for taking notes during work and conferences.
  22. I use Evernote extensively on my Mac, iPad Pro, and iPhone. We use shared notebooks in my office and I have a ScanSnap Evernote Edition sitting on my desk. (I even have Evernote desk accessories sitting next to the scanner.) I'm pretty well immersed in the world of Evernote. However, I've found myself turning to other tools, most recently OneNote, with greater frequency. The main issue, and it is a big one for me, is the fragmented and inferior support for note taking and PDF editing in Evernote. I use my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil extensively. There are some great Pencil-compatible apps for iOS, including Notability, PDF Expert, and OneNote. Evernote, on the other hand, is stuck with a strange and fragmented approach: PDFs can by opened using the "Annotate" tool in Evernote, which I think is built around the remnants of Skitch. It's fine for adding arrows and icons, but terrible (unusable) for handwritten notes on PDFs. It really can't be used for anything more than simple highlighting -- certainly not detailed annotation or note taking. Drawings and notes can be added to an Evernote Note directly through the handwriting tool, but this simply inserts an image into the note. There's no way to use this tool to take notes over multiple pages, or to use it for annotation as far as I can tell. I've also found it to the buggy, with full pages of notes lost if you switch away from Evernote to another app before saving the image and returning to the normal notes view. I will say that that, though the tool is very limited, with very few options, the Pencil support works well and writing is fluid. This tool seems to have the most potential for future development. Finally, there is Penultimate -- a separate app I want to love but is just too buggy, too limited, and too walled off from the rest of Evernote to be truly useful. Again, no support for importing PDFs/annotation, yet another approach to handwriting, and, though the Penultimate notes live in Evernote, nothing can be done with them in the main app. Why, at this stage, would Evernote have three separate, incompatible and incongruous approaches to annotation/note taking, none of which begin to match the functionality of some of the other apps named? Attached PDFs can certainly be opened in other apps, such as PDF Expert, but there is no way to get the annotated PDFs back into an Evernote note without deleting the original attachment and reattaching the PDF. That's cumbersome, and annotation seems like pretty basic functionality that Evernote should offer. Evernote certainly has some broader advantages over OneNote, but really needs to explore something like the "canvas" style approach used by OneNote. The ability to "print" PDFs to a OneNote page and then markup the document itself and take notes/add text/etc. all on one page is invaluable. I've pretty much switched all note taking/PDF annotation to OneNote, with Evernote still used for project management and other organizational needs, which leaves me with my own fragmentation. Maybe I'm missing something in Evernote's approach, but I'm a longtime user that's completely frustrated with Evernote's inferior support for annotation and handwritten notes.
  23. Usually I want links I've copied and pasted from Evernote to open the note right in the Evernote App on my Mac or iPhone or iPad. In this thread I learned about the behavior of "normal" versus "classic" note links on a Mac. However, I wonder how I can get a "classic" note link when I'm on iOS? Often times I want to create a Link and paste it into a n external app like Things or Notes or Fantastical, but then the link fires up Safari and I am forced to authenticate because I don't use Evernote in Safari often. So, is there a way to create "classic" links from Evernote app on iOS somehow?
  24. Would love to be able to edit notes created date in iOS. I scan my notes and don't always scan them on the dates I write them and like to have the date created and the note date match for sorting purposes.
  25. There is a pre-defined Shortcut in the iOS Shortcuts app that says "Add new note from Watch" but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. I can tap on it in the Shortcuts app and do a note, but I don't know how to make this work from the Apple Watch, which would seem to be the point. I'm not seeing how to install Shortcuts to the Watch via the Watch app on my phone, and there isn't anything obvious on my Watch to make this happen that I've found. Running all the latest release versions on iOS and watchOS. (No beta's)
