  1. Hi, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but no one has SOLVED it. I've spent weeks looking for the answer, but have now confirmed (by installing it on other windows machines) that this is a bug that exists in the latest Windows (and some previous) versions. I'm currently using the latest: 5.7.2.5753 (273753) Public. It's driving me crazy (every single day), so I'm going to put it out there again. I'll bullet point it to make it easy to understand and perfectly clear. - After opening evenote--and letting it finish its sync, I attempt to do a search. - I type the first few letters of my search and the program hangs, the window freezes and the window goes into (not responding mode) - After sometimes as long as a minute (longest time was 1:20), the window comes back to life, the final letters I typed fill in and the search completes. - It's not my memory. I have an i5 with 16gb and 1 on the video card which should be enough for a text based program. On my Mac, I haven't had this problem. I have the newly-released Mac version 6.03 and it flies. First search upon opening the app is instant. Is there a real answer to this? Thanks in advance for your help. Ken LiveFromStPete
  2. After installing a new version of Evernote, Evernote will hang (i.e. "Not responding"). It will hang with lots of disk activity (I have a SSD). The hang will continue for 30 to 90 seconds. I can do a few operations and then Evernote will hang again. After a few days (< a week) of this, normal operation is restored. No hangs, until the next update. Anybody else have similar behavior?
  3. Originally, I only went to the Evernote site to download the client. Now, after opting in to the beta, the whole site has become unusable. The Web Beta hangs as soon as a menu item is clicked. This includes Settings, meaning I can't revert to the stable release. Any help?
  4. I'm having serious problems with Evernote for Mac. It will NOT run. I've tried uninstalling everything, then reinstalling without success. Usually I get Application Not Responding after a few minutes and have to Force Quit. Once I got Waiting to Connect to Server. No problems with iOS so I know my account is OK. Suggestions?
  5. Hey guys. Evernote's web clipper works almost all the time for me (thank goodness), but today I witnessed a rather nasty hang-up with it. When trying to clip a selection from Wikia, the Clipper got stuck synchronizing. A second attempt was just as fruitless. To make sure I wasn't making a personal mistake, I uninstalled and re-added the extension from the Chrome Web Store, with the same result. What do? I've seen this error before, but usually just re-trying fixes it.
  6. I was trying to archive a Mac iMessage/Messages chat that included photos (apparently large) to Evernote. To my knowledge it never went through, due to the EN app hanging, but not quite crashing. I saw that my available system RAM bottomed out at 10MB, so I crashed everything and started over. After restarting, I opened a RichText App and was able to Copy/Paste and Save to it, so my archive is saved, just not in EN. The RichText file, with pictures, is 28MB. Is that too large for EN? I am on a MacBook Pro 17" i7 with 8GB of RAM, running Mountain Lion 10.8.5. When my system is completely loaded after a restart, I have a little less than 6GB RAM available according to the App "FreeMemory," which, if you're not familiar with it, displays available RAM in the menu bar of the Mac, and allows you to free-up RAM. If I restart my Mac normally, then launch ONLY Evernote, I can watch the App load, then I get the "spinning beachball of death" and I can watch the RAM display drop from 5GB+ down to 10MB (nothing!) in under 60 seconds, while doing nothing. It never really crashes, but it slows my computer to a geriatric snail's pace. Eventually I have to force-quit the computer. I have completely (to my knowledge) uninstalled Evernote, following these instructions, and then reinstalled the latest EN (Mac 5.4.4) and restarted the computer, then EN, only to have exactly the same thing. Somewhere in there I did a Repair Permissions, twice, using Disk Utility. I am wondering: Is there a location on my computer where an upload queue might have stored and/or queued my large, 28MB file, even in a corrupt state, and it's trying to load-then-sync this file? If so, can anyone tell me where to look to "unclog" this pipeline, or offer any other clues as to how to solve this odd problem? It's hard to narrow anything down as I only get the "spinning beachball of death." Evernote has become 100% unable on my Mac, but I can still use it from my iPad and iPhone. Anyone have any ideas?
  7. Evernote 3.3 from Mac App Store Macbook Air 2011 128GB SSD (101GB free) OS X Mountain Lion On a Verizon FIOS WiFi connection Basically, say I am in a notebook with 2 notes.. I edit the text in one note, then click on the other note, Evernote hangs for a good 20+ seconds giving me the spinning beachball. It doesn't matter if I'm full screen or not - same thing. There is no significant CPU or disk activity during this Evernote freeze. After the freeze is over, everything works - until I change data in a note, then try to move to another note - then there is another "hang." I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried a number of things (restarting, etc...). No effect for now. I'm a software developer so if I can help in any way let me know. This doesn't happen on my Windows boxes. Thanks! -Paul
  8. I've spent over an hour trying to figure out how to submit a ticket through evernote.com about an issue regarding cancelling my premium billing. I've tried IE, Chrome, and FF (windows 7) and every time the page hangs with the words "Submitting a ticket..." but no confirmation onscreen or email sent. I then tried submitting directing from my iphone on LTE in case there was some issue with the corporate firewall and same hang happened there. Is this normal or something not working in the system? I've attached an image of what page its hanging on. Is there a phone number for billing issues? I am at a loss on how to contact evernote. Greg
  9. Hey all. Loving Evernote, I've been an avid user for almost a year now, almost 2500 notes and going strong! One thing I've found today though, when I select multiple notes, it hangs! It definitely didn't do this before as I've done this before to then merge notes and it worked fine. I did do an update the other day, I'm thinking that must have caused this glitch. Anyone else had this problem? Cheers, Derek.
  10. I am using Evernote 3.2.2 on a DroidX. I find it impossible to sunc this thing. My note database should be tiny, about 225 notes and 27 kb. Space on the SD card is not a problem. Whenever I open Evernote to Sync it starts after a bit, goes to a point, maybe 17%, maybe 40% and just stays there syncing (Downloading headers) forever. I've been using Evernote for a while now and it has only sync'ed correctly about 2 times. Too bad, because it could be a great app. Any ideas? Thank you for your help.
