  1. Suggestion: title. If you expect people to pay for something most other notebook apps offer for free, well good luck with that. I switched from Google Keep because I wanted to try Evernote, but the "no free offline access" even to the notes I take on that very same device is definitely a deal-killer. You have my email. Call me when this changes. Bye.
  2. Hi, I use Evernote only on my PC and nowhere else, not even on my phone. So, is it necessary to upgrade? Because I'm constantly getting the upgrade window and it shows I've crossed 95% of my allowed space. So, is it necessary?
  3. Hi Folks, I've got a very simple question. The discussion of premium mode says that Free Evernote is useless when offline - if I'm in airplane mode, or my cell phone provider has hiccups, or I don't want to pay data roaming fees - no Evernote for me. But the guide for new users of Android in discussing syncing strongly implies Evernote for Android is usable offline. I'm looking for a replacement for Note Everything, which worked fine on my Droid II, but declines to sync my data to my new Nexus V. I'm very nervous about data "in the cloud," and requiring that my network connection be up in order to access my data is sufficient to cross Evernote off my list of adequate replacements. So I'm just looking for a straight answer - would I have to pay an ongoing rent to have access to my data when Evernote's site is down, or my ISP is down, or I'm travelling, etc. etc. ? Here are the relevant excerpts: ---http://evernote.com/premium/--- Offline notebooksAccess your notes fast whenever you need them on your mobile device, even without a network connection. Great for travel. ---http://evernote.com/evernote/guide/android/#4--- Automatic SyncBy default, your Evernote account is automatically synced across all of your devices once per hour whenever Evernote is running. Changing Sync Frequency To change how often your account automatically syncs, do the following: Tap the Evernote icon to open the Home Screen Tap the Profile icon Tap Settings Under App Settings, tap Sync Notes Tap Sync Automatically Select how often you want to automatically sync your Evernote account. You may also disable automatic syncingEnable WiFi Only Syncing Users with limited data usage for their mobile device may want to sync only when their device is connected to a WiFi network. To enable syncing over WiFi only, do the following: On the Home Screen, tap the Profile icon Tap Settings Under App Settings, tap Sync Notes Tap Wi-Fi sync only
  4. I'm a free user and was interested in setting up 2-factor auth for my evernote account. I went to my account settings on the website and saw the 'Two-step Verification' section with an enable button next to it (pic attached) I clicked on 'enable' and followed all the steps (email verification, sms verification, hand-writing backup codes, setting up google authenticator) Once I got all the way through the process it says it was successful, but 2fa was not set up on my account. That's when I noticed the little marketing box near the bottom with a call to action 'go premium' that said 'get a premium account to use 2fa'. I know I should've read that box more closely before going through the setup process, but the 'enable' button should definitely not be on for free users if they can't use the service. The whole setup process wasted about 5 minutes of time and could've been avoided.
  5. I have the free Evernote account; I am running Mavericks on my iMac and iOS 7 on my iPad and iPhone. I haven't been able to find a clear explanation of where my data is stored and where it is not stored. I understand that all my notes are permanently stored (unless I delete them) on the Evernote servers and that I can access them through my browser if I want to. But: (1) Using the Evernote desktop app on my iMac, I seem to be able to access my notes very quickly, which suggests that copies of all my notes are also stored on my hard drive, updated when I sync, and where I can access them even when I am not connected to the Internet. Is this correct? (2) When I access notes from my mobile device they must be downloaded from the Evernote servers. Does this mean that they are only stored temporarily on my mobile device while I am viewing or editing them? When do these temporary copies disappear from the memory of my mobile device? (3) I understand that the Premium account will allow me to maintain copies of all my notes on my mobile devices at all times so that I can access them even when I am not connected to the Internet. Is this correct? It would be helpful to have this information clearly presented on the Evernote support site. Perhaps it is; I haven't been able to find it. In the meantime, can anybody provide answers to these questions? Thanks.
  6. I have been using EVERNOTE for the past three years as a platform to organize the knowledge I had acquired as an intern in a field of medicine in the medical university. the knowledge base has grow to hundred of notes and tags and is very important for me. I have also connected few of my friends and students to the application. When I started using EVERNOTE, it was completely free, and that was one of the reasons I choose EVERNOTE instead the other application in the field. recently, EVERNOTE had changed their policy for basic users, so we can synchronize only two computers for each account. I am using four different computes on a regular bases and this change in policy is really a disturbance to the flow in the use of the application. I am asking EVERNOTE to reconsider the change of policy because this change to current users is unfair and feels like a deception. In that note, your Hebrew support is very bad, and it is virtually impossible to write notes in Hebrew, It is worse when you need to combine English and Hebrew. I wish to thank you for your excellent application in hope that you reconsider the change in policy. Hope to get your respond,
  7. Golden Globe Award 2016 Online Free Surprises and Snubs, The Golden Globe 2016 Live Stream nominations were, as per usual, a mixed bag. For every inspired nod (congrats, Rachel Bloom!) there was one that had be scratching the skin off my scalp (no The Leftovers?!). So without further adieu, I give you the good, the bad and the downright ugly from this year’s list. The 2016 Golden Globe nominations were, as per usual, a mixed bag. For every inspired nod (congrats, Rachel Bloom!) there was one that had be scratching the skin off my scalp (no The Leftovers?!). The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has set Jan. 10, 2016, for the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards. The ceremony will air on NBC from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m (PT) and 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. (ET) from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., and will be produced by Dick Clark Productions. All that's needed are new hosts, since Tina Fey and Amy Poehler announced that 2015 would be their last time in the role. Already, there has been a groundswell of support for Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, who wowed in a brief appearance at the 2015 awards. NBC's Golden Globe Awards took a ratings dip in 2015, down 8% from the previous year, averaging 19.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen figures.
  8. I only use Evernote occasionally and the Free/Basic version is what works best for me. For the past few weeks everytime I open Evernote I get the following error message: " Your subscription has expired. Renew now to keep enjoying great features likes offline notebooks and larger uploads. Renew now. " I click on the renew now link and it bring up a sign up/version selector that doesn't allow me to select the Free/Basic version. Is Evernote doing away with the freebie/basic version or is this some glitch? Thanks!
  9. So I started using Evernote a few months ago on my Samsung Galaxy S5 using the Android app. I would notice that these banners would appear above my list of notes (like "sign up for premium" or tutorials on how to do this or that). Once I saw a banner that said I could get free Evernote Premium for a certain time because I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. At first I pressed the "X" in the top right corner of the banner to close it. Then a while later it popped up again and I closed it again. It's been about 2 months and the banner has not shown up, and I have not been able to find any way to redeem this offer now. I am pretty sure this offer is legitimate because it says so on Samsung's official website http://pages.samsung.com/ca/galaxys5/English/galaxys5/galaxygifts.html Does anyone know how I would go about redeeming my free "Galaxy Gift"? I would greatly appreciate it.
  10. Hello! I am new to evernote (about to sign up) I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a very easy to read list of features for the free, premium, and business versions of evernote. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, -Thomas
Gracias. Un saludo, Manuel.
  12. I am not able to upload anything from my laptop after my account downgrading from premium to free. However, I am still able to upload if I log in evernote online using browser. Seems like my laptop didnt reflect the correct upload limit. Anyone can help?
  13. Hello, I have a new iPhone 6 and the only thing I'ld like to have from the Premium account is the Touch ID. I don't need more space and the other stuff. It's unfair and ilogic to upgrade to Premium (I'll not upgrade) just to have Touch ID!! What do you guys think?
  14. I looked at the pricing options and found that "offline access" is a Premium feature, which I'm not interested in. I look over at the Free features and see that it is able to "sync" data across multiple devices... this is already confusing. Wouldn't data that is already synced to mobile already be accessible offline? If not, they may have just lost me as a potential user. If I wanted to set up a widget on Android, how would this appear offline? What about online? Are widgets even available in the free version of Evernote for Android?
  15. I'm totally confused about my upload quota. If i add a typewritten (text) note to Evernote, does that count against my upload quota? Then, if I edit said text note, that counts as an addition to my quota, too? Is my upload quota affected by the fact that I have Evernote on 3 devices, all synced? My Mac, an iPhone, and an iPad? Does that triple the amount of space I'm using? So, typing in a note from the keyboard is called an upload to the web, as well as to my device? Or can I type something in to Evernote on my computer, and not have it count as an upload? Why didn't I get an email alert telling me I've gone over my monthly quota? I have gone over my quota for the month, but never got an alert. Yesterday, I added a note (by using the keyboard) to Evernote on my Mac. Later, I noticed the note wasn't on my iPhone. This morning, I noticed the note wasn't on any of my devices. I just don't understand how this works.
  16. First, sorry if I duplicated existed topic, but I didn't find anything after quick look. I'm a big fan of Evernote since I started using it years ago. And still I cant get why is it restricted that much for free users? I really think that offline notebooks and a PIN-code protection are the essential things. I cant really say about two-step verification... What people actually should pay for in my opinion is bandwidth, when Evernote servers are actually being used. The leak of above features are forcing me to look for alternatives. Besides, PIN is a feature that exists almost everywhere now. I guess I used premium for about year and I dont really think I will pay for things that are essential anymore (I payed only because of them). Thanks.
  17. We're about to go live with Evernote Business within our company and on the question of pricing, I was asked the question: "Why do we need to pay for everyone to be Business users if we can just have free users that share the business notebooks?" Apart from user functionality and not seeing many employee's going over 60mb. I couldn't think of a decent answer. Can anyone give me the pro's/con's of doing this. For those employee's we think will go over the 60mb limit will become business users, the remainder being free users that join the business notebook. Thanks.
  18. Hi everyone! My company decided to use Evernote to work for projects. Currently, we have 1 premium account (which I'm using it) and the rest are free account. I have created 2 notebooks:- 01. Work-related 02. Projects and also tags that are necessary for my colleagues to tag (because I understand that free account can't create tags that are not created by the premium account user) Under 01 Work-related notebook, i have created a notebook with tags like "projects", "need attention", "meeting notes" My question - Since I have created the tags and have tagged them to a note, why wouldn't my colleagues able to tag their note using the tags which I have created? Thank you very much!
  19. Hi there, In case you haven't heard. If you are a customer of Telekom (Germany), you can pick up a free one year subscription. Follow the link in the bottom left corner of the German Evernote main page: http://evernote.com/intl/de/ The offer is restricted to customers of Telekom in Germany (as far as I know). It doesn't matter if you're a customer of their landline or mobile services. But even if you are both, you only get to get one free year of premium (yes, I've tried ). As usual, if you already are premium user, the year gets added to the end of your current subscription (so if you now have 6 months left, you will have 18 months left after picking up the promotion). Here's the direct link to Telekom's promotion page: http://www.telekom.de/evernote ------------------------ Für diejenigen, die es noch nicht mitbekommen haben: Telekom-Kunden bekommen ein kostenloses Evernote-Premium-Jahr (im Wert von 40 EUR): http://www.telekom.de/evernote
  20. Situation: Premium account shares a notebook with a free account. The free account (both web and desktop) sees two notebooks: SharedNotedbook and SharedNotebook1, each with different note counts and notes. In SharedNotebook, the properties state view only. In SharedNotebook1, the properties state edt and view. When a note is added or edited in SharedNotebook1, the note moves into SharedNotebook and is no longer editable (desktop), but is editable on web. When the premium account edits the note, from the free account perspective the note moves back. On the premium account, only SharedNotebook is visable with the full note count. Is this expected? Can the premium account do something to make this stop? Can the premium account determine which notes have moved from the perspective of the free account?
  21. Hello, I love evernote, but an inconvenience has cropped up that (I'm sure) plagues many users. I've been using evernote as my primary note source, then onenote, then catch . The problem is I'm a college student and can't afford to be a premium member and exceed the 50mb size limit. I propose a method similar to Amazon prime, allowing students at universities to get a free year or so of added premium space- they can then continue to use premium space at a discounted price (as long as they're a student) then pay the full fee or simply revert back to the 50mb limit. With countless pdfs, powerpoints, pictures [anatomy, diagrams, charts, ect...) the small limit simply doesn't cut it. When I went on a study abroad trip in Europe, I pondered how wonderful it would be to log onto a tablet, or go to the library and have all my data ready to go. This would certainly attract many students to evernote. Please take this into consideration.
  22. I've recently been introduced to Evernote through my school. Full Sail University had me create an account for use in some of my classes. That being said, I instantly fell in love with the program. It's only been a week or so since I first installed it, and I've already completely adopted it as my main form of trading ideas back and forth with my writing and drawing partners on my film/comic projects. That is what I'm using Evernote mainly for. As a hub for trading back scripts, concept art, notes, and ideas. With this form of usage in mind. I have two huge suggestions for features that seem to be missing and are direly needed. 1. First off, a note flagging and notification system would be incredibly convenient. At this point, whenever you add to or in any way change a note, the only thing it does is pop to the top of the list of notes in the notebook. This is alright, but it would be so much better if the note was flagged as having been changed. If I signed in to my Evernote desktop app, and all of the notes that had been changed in any way had little red flag icons in the corner or ANYTHING like that, it would be a billion times better. And if a dialogue box popped up coming from the little Evernote icon in my task bar informing me any time a new note was added or changed in any of my shared Notebooks(similar to the way Drop Box does), it would make the system so much better for mine and my partners' purposes. 2. This second suggestion is a bit of a long-shot, but I figured I might as well request it. I really like this program and plan on investing the 45 dollars for Premium as soon as it becomes financially viable for me, but until then I feel like disabling anyone from adding to or modifying the Notebooks your share with them is HUGELY crippling to the entire experience. For me this almost breaks the program for what I need it to do. I don't even need huge results. Just the ability for me and my partners to add little notes directly to scripts or drawings we share with each other instead of having to create entire separate notebooks with notes and try to label them to match up with their respective scripts/drawings would be fantastic. I feel like it's a little bit of a grift to deny this very simple yet very integral feature to the free account customers. Comparing it to Drop Box once again, their free account limits your monthly upload limit and server space, but doesn't cripple functionality of the program, and I still intend to pay for a premium account with them just the same. These are two functions that would elevate Evernote from being a great, really cool program for me to becoming an extension of how I work and create.
