  1. There's a table that says the maximum size a note can be. I think in Plus it's 50 MB. But I can't find anywhere on a note where it says the note's size in MB to check if I'm going over. Can someone point me to the right place to check on a given note's size? Is there a button to push? Obviously there's something I'm not seeing. Thanks.
  2. Is there a way to increase the recording quality? Or can anyone suggest an alternative app that records in higher quality, for example in mp3 format? I use Evernote to record music ideas on my phone, but the audio is really compressed and so you can't hear the music very clearly. I just want an app where I can record and easily organise ideas. The recording does not need to be super high quality, but Evernote is really compressed. A 4 minute audio file is about 100KB. When I record using the default recording app on my phone, the quality is much better. I have attached an example of one of my recordings below so you can hear how bad the sound quality is. (I have converted the file to mp3 so you can hear it, but this is pretty much how the original file sounds when played in Evernote). 10_Jan_2018_I_can_t_think_straight.mp3
  3. My Evernote "Application Support" folder is taking up 4.5 gigs on my puny 2011 MacBook Air. Is there a way to safely reduce this huge footprint? Why is the app such a juggernaut when all the data is stored online?
  4. How do I find out the file size of the Evernote PC app (from the windows app store; if that makes a difference)
  5. Problem: I uploaded/synced less than 2 Mb of files this morning, but my account shows that I used 23 Mb of my upload allocation by doing so. Basic configuration: EN Basic, using EN on Mac (EN 6.8 on MacOS 10.9.5) and iPad (EN current for iOS 8.3), notes added almost exclusively via the EN web clipper. Explanation: In both Jan'17 and Feb'17, I hit my upload limit faster than I've experienced in the past. In Feb, I reached my limit mid-month, in spite of trying to upload pages that were mostly text (very few graphics). So, for the 2nd half of Feb, I created 10 notes on my iPad without attempting to sync (white arrow in small green triangle in upper right hand corner of note summary remained during 2nd half of Feb). My account reset a couple of days ago on Mar 1st. Today, Mar 4, I synced the 10 files: one was 1.8 Mb in size, the remaining 9 totaled 71 Kb (size checked by using the info button for each note). Yet, my account info shows that I have only 37 Mb of upload left. The 2 Mb of files took 23 Mb of my upload allowance (a 100% inflation in size!! How can this be corrected?
  6. What is the best resolution size to select to exporting into EN? I FINALLY found a great iPhone/iPad app to help me with BATCH camera exports from my mobile devices (iPhone/iPad) to EN via the "Photogene" app."Photogene" also gives me export file size choices of 1) Resolution size: 200. 320, 640, 800, 1024, 1600, 2048, & 2592 (default original size), & 2) DPI: 72x72, 96x96, 150 x150, 180x180, 200x200. I do not know what is lowest 1) resolution size & 2) DPI size I can choose that will still let me be able to read my documents well? While I am a premium EN user, large file sizes could still be prohibitive as I have quite a photo backlog of research photos (document pics + photo pics). "Photogene" app also had great reviews for editing photos..but for me my #1 find for it was to find a way to bring in a large number of related photos from my devices directly into EN at once, eliminating the emailing pic by pic time consuming export nightmare. Due to the backlog of photos I have, I need large batch exporting directly into EN that bypasses my plugging my devices into my also full computer. In the future I will be changing my photo export workflow, beginning with using "FastEver Snap-Camera for Evernote" app which also allows choosing image sizes from original size, UXGA(1600 × 1200), XGA(1024 × 768), VGA (640 × 480) and QVGA (320 × 240). (Default is XGA). Of course looking for guidelines of best file size choice for that export too!??? Image sizes are compressed for sending small file sizes as well & it supports EN notebook and tags too. Have other EN users tried this app for quick pics on their mobile devices for easy exporting into EN?? What file sizes did you choose? I will also be using "kooaba Shortcut" app to take pictures of pages in newspapers and magazines to save a digital copy straight into my EN account. I do alot of research in books and take photos to remember key points. Currently I use either camera app on mobile device or sometimes "GeniusScan" app, which I really like! Just discovered can export from "Genius Scan" straight into EN too! WHAT has been your best workflows from getting your mobile devices photos into EN?? Best resolution sizes??
  7. a feature request - I clipped a pdf the other day, and was shocked to find the 2 page document weighed 14 mb. I use chrome with the EN clipper, and it would be quite a useful feature to show the kb total of clips before they are uploaded in the sidebar that lets the user control the clipping parameters, but of course this would apply to all browsers.
  8. Hello, I'm considering a premium account, but nowhere in the Evernote documentation can I determine what happens if I exceed the advertised 1 GB per month data allowance for uploads. Does anyone know how this is billed by Evernote? Also, a related question: I have an iphone 4. The pictures that this phone takes are huge. Does anyone know how I might quickly and easily reduce file size of the pics so that I might reduce Evernote storage needs? Perhaps a quick and easy application that integrates with Evernote? I do know how to reduce file size in photoshop individually , but this is cumbersome if I just want to upload pics to Evernote from my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Nancy
