    Evernote for family

As a long time Evernote Premium user and evangelist, I now have a son entering the middle school/ jr. high crossover. I want to teach him to use Evernote for organization, notes, scheduling etc. My question is would Evernote allow for Premium users to "host" accounts for children under their own premium account? Similar to the way Apple does family sharing.
  2. I just tried to set up Evernote for my family of four and was told that sponsored groups have been replaced by Evernote Business. I don't know about anyone else, but my family does not need $40/month worth of business accounts. •Premium plan is for individuals •Business plan is for businesses •NO PLAN for groups/families? Why did you let an advancement (like EnB), turn into a regression? I don't need to administer four separate accounts... for my 2 children, my wife and myself. Nor do I want any of us to have to deal with the restrictions of the free plan. My children are homeschooled and will need offline notes. Their iPod Touches and iPads aren't always connected to wifi, I cant rely on a persistent connection for them to complete school work I should have been able to assign through an Evernote group account. Even if I did set up four separate premium accounts with four separate billing plans, I still can't receive the discount that was available for groups of 3 or more. So now I have to pay $20/month for four people, or $180/year. There is no way my kids are going to use $90 to $120 worth of note organizing every year. I wish I had opened a sponsored group account in November of 2012, when I first learned about them (before the creation of their carnivorous EnB plans). Bring back sponsored groups, Evernote! Please!!!

    organization How I use Evernote

I saw a posting on LifeHacker where the poster said he didn't understand the appeal and value of Evernote. So I posted a reply which seemed to merit posting here too. My work, family, and personal life has a lot of moving parts. Evernote helps me keep them all organized. It is mostly a place to collect notes on a wide variety of topics. Such as: - Work - The three new products I'm bringing to market for my company - The five existing products I need to sustain - The ideas I have for new products - Tasks that don't directly link to either of the above - Travel plans: flight info, times, etc. - Travel perk memberships for airlines and hotels - Photos of whiteboard sessions, customers using our products, customers with cool ideas... - Home - Repetitive maintenance tasks - Shopping lists for Lowes/Home Depot - Family - Gift ideas for my wife, three kids, and me (for when they ask what I want for ...) - Clothing sizes for everyone - Medical info including last immunization, allergies, ongoing medication - Which ink cartridge each printer uses - Model, make, VIN, year, color, and more for each of the cars - Personal - Tasks I've committed to for church, social groups, etc. - Names of new people I've recently met or whose name I'm likely to forget (most, sadly) - Books I'd like to order from the library The alternative is an endless collection of paper scraps. Evernote isn on both my work and personal cell phone, home desktop, office laptop, personal laptop, iPad, and an Android tablet. No matter where I am I have at least one of these. I can make a note, it always goes into the right place, and everything syncs beautifully and automatically. Without Evernote, or something very similar, I'd be in deep trouble. And that's how I use Evernote- with gratitude to the inventors.
  4. I have used Evernote nearly five months and truly getting the hang of it. But need some advice on Notebooks and tags. Living with me is my 87 year old mother, handicap sister, husband and me. We have lots of medical visits and having medical records on EN and current medicine is a God sent. Recording the doctors discharge notes is great too. Right now I have a notebook for each family member and sub notebooks for medical records, current medicine, X-rays, MRI. under each family member. I have a vacation folder, home improvement folders. I'm afraid once reading all the past forum notes on on tags and notebooks; that I should have only a few notebooks. I generally don't do a lot of searches when visiting with doctors. I just pull up which ever family members is in the hospital and look into that folder for whatever the doctor needs from me. Presto. Question. If you have a family, home, hobbies, warranties..recipes.. that needs organized. How would you do it?... my time has greatly improved since EN and would appreciate any help.
