  1. Hello, I've been looking for a solution for this for what seems like an eternity. My problem is that I wanna be able to export a complete notebook to pdf format, which seems to not be possible. I know I can save single notes as pdf documents, but the problem is that when I select all notes and hit the print key it only detects the first note. The preview window doesn't show all the notes, even though they are selected, and that way I can't export the entire notebook. The other option would be to export every note separately, which would be very time-consuming. In the image uploaded below, you can see that even though all my notes are selected, when I try to print in order to save as pdf it only detects the first note - which would only have 3 pages, and the whole documented would only consist of that first note, and that is not what it is meant to do. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I have created a Master Note with Table of Contents Links to multiple separate notes and would like to print or export the entire thing. I can't see any way to accomplish this. Currently, I save each note individually as a pdf then merge all of the pdfs using Preview, etc. and, finally, save or print that. So much effort for something that should be the perfect sweet spot for EverNote. Am I missing anything?
  3. I use Evernote to take all my business meeting notes. I need to email these notes to folks and emailing a link isn't acceptable in my business. So, I try to either (1) C&P the note directly into Outlook or (2) Export Note to HTML and then C&P that into Outlook. In both cases, I run into a terribly annoying situation - when pasted into Outlook I get an extra bullet per indent level. Here is what it looks like in Evernote: START TESTTESTTEST 2TEST 2TEST END Here is what it looks like when pasted (or exported and pasted): START TESTTEST TEST 2TEST 2TEST END By the way, the export to HTML looks fine. It's when I paste into Outlook. I have dealt with this for years. It's the reason I started using ONENOTE for a long time. I recently came back to Evernote and it still has the same problem. This does not happen when I C&P from Word, ONENOTE, WEBPAGES, so I don't think it's an Outlook issue. Fixing this would literally make this product perfect for me. It it remains broken I might have to find another solution as almost every note I write I email. HELP!!!!

    Exporting EN Notes

How do you export EN Notes to Google Drive as a Google Doc, or PDF File? and/or save EN Notes on Desktop as PDF File?
  5. I've been trying to keep my Evernote backed up, and attempting to do so in multiple formats to ensure that I have something that can be parsed/imported later. With 4000 notes, including a large number of scanned images and PDFs, the current 32-bit Evernote application crashes when exporting all notes in "Single-page html" or web-archive/mht. It took me a little while to track down what was happening, but essentially Evernote is consuming a large amount of RAM during exporting those formats. The used memory increases until it gets to about 3.5GB and then crashes. The error messages in the activity log file look like this "date/time [pid] CBuffer: Failed to allocate xxxx bytes of memory." There should be a few of them before the app crashes. The computer has 32GB of ram, and could certainly support a temporary increased usage to facilitate the export. A 64-bit version would be nice to avoid these types of limitations. Thanks Keith
  6. Hi there! It used to worked. When i try to export a note as PDF from presentation mode, I can set file's name and destination but no PDF is created! What happened? Thank you
  7. Hello, I was thinking, I have all my information in Evernote and majority of my notes are manuals in PDF form for my work. I know I can click on the note and save the attachment out of Evernote, but I was wondering is there a way of do it automatically i.e. every month I export just the PDF's out of my Evernote Database. I use a mac, so if there are any solution known, could it be mac orientated please. Many thanks in advance Regards Mark
  8. Is there a way to export an Evernote note into a workable format... such as Word doc, PDF file, RTF file? Or maybe convert one of the formats into something workable as a doc.
  9. I read the "help" file on how to back up (export) and restore (import) notes and notebooks. To export a notebook on a Mac, it says to right-click on a notebook and select Export Notes. However, when I right-click there is no "Export Notes" option. Can someone help me please?
  10. Hi there I'm fairly new to Evernote so apologies if I'm asking a repeat question, I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Within the application, my notes are ordered by Title. When I export to HTML they seem to come out in reverse order (possibly also coincidentally in date order with newest first). I need the export to keep the order of the notes by title (or by date, oldest first - though this might not be so useful if I add things to the order later on). I am exporting the whole notebook - which is what I want - and then opening in Word. My notes are titled like "Chapter 01 scene 01," and so on. When I export, the notes effectively read backwards starting with the highest first - ie Chapter 03 scene 05 and then counting down from there. What am I doing wrong?
  11. I have been using evernote for a month or so. In this time, I managed to refer a friend and so I got 10GB. This gave me the freedom to test every scenario to find a possible sweet spot on how evernote can fit in my life. I have added and deleted a lot of stuff, stuff that I don't need in evernote, so the usage indicator in the evernote info page is not a real measuring device to see how much data I need in coming months - in turn I am not sure whether I need 1GB a month or 10GB (I want to get the yearly deal) My question is, if I export all the data that I know represents a months worth, in an .enex file. Would that file's size be the correct indicator of how much space i need in evernote? For example, say my enex file is 1GB big, does that mean that if I have a plus account (1GB per month), and export that enex file, everything would fit fine in evernote, or is the enex file compressed and thus I'd ne x times more storage space
  12. Hello, I currently run Evernote on my Chromebook and my Android phone. I've been trying to find a way to either export a note directly to Dropbox, or to download it so that I can upload it to Dropbox. It's my understanding that this can be accomplished on a Windows or Mac. Has anyone found a way to download from a Chromebook? When I try (regardless of what format I save the note in), it always says the downloaded file is corrupted. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
  13. I made a note with Evernote for iPad recording several audio files, the huge one has 23Mb, but in the end the note become with more then 100Mb (limit for premium users). Now I can't sync with Evernote because the note exceeded the limit, I can't export the note because when I try to do it the Evernote crashes (same trying to send by e-mail), I can't copy the audio files into a new note to split into several notes because, I don't know why, it does not allow me to copy and paste it into a NEW note, just in the SAME note. Is there a way to save the audio files into my computer? Thanks.
  14. "Export those notes to an ENEX file" - I've seen this a number of times but I can't find where this option is and I've really looked. Is it for Premium only? Where do I find it using Chrome on Win8? Or in Android app? WHERE WHERE WHERE??? Thanks!
  15. Hi, I have the Evernote desktop app installed on my iMac. I only have one notebook with 2,800 notes in, all of which are categorized by tags. I also have "sub-tags" within tags. I used to have many stacks with many notebooks and notes but I switched to tags as they were easier to use and search through. Recently, I had a problem with text encryption. Right clicking to encrypt text no longer works (no window pops up and the text does not become a little grey box as it used to). I considered backing up my files and then reinstalling Evernote, but I read that many who tried this get "Evernote was already installed by another user. Only one per-user installation is supported. An administrator can install Evernote for everyone after the per-user installation is removed." due to fragments left behind. Some have tried using special installers/uninstallers (Revo) to no avail. Instead, I decided to just back up my notes with an .enex file and create another user account, and then import the notes into the new account. Another user said that he was still able to use encryption if he logged into another account using the same Evernote desktop app.- see MTT here: http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/26644-help-evernote-no-longer-encrypts/ I confirmed that by logging into my wife's account from my desktop Evernote app and I was able to use encryption on her account (using the same installation of Evernote on my iMac). That shows that the problem must be with files associated with my account, rather than the desktop app itself.) Anyway, I exported the 2800 notes in one notebook with many tags on each note (as an enex.file) to a backup folder on my iMac. Then I created a new account using the same installation of the Evernote app. However, when I imported my notes into that new account, Evernote only showed 800 notes (even though the notebook view had the number 2800 below it). I also lost all my tags and many PDFs became unscannable. I realize that I have a lot of notes in one notebook and many tags too, but if Evernote allows me to do this and works perfectly well on a day-to-day basis, why is there no warning about losing tags and notes when exporting? What is the limit for one notebook? I therefore gave up on the idea of exporting my notes to a new account and decided to stick with my original account. However, that still leaves me with the original problem of no encryption. Any solutions?
  16. I have two accounts and only want one. When I export my notebook from one to the other, the notes transfer but the notebooks and tags do not. Is there a way to have everything transferred so that one account mirrors the other?
  17. I want to be able to make sure my Evernote files are on my hard drive in some additional place, aside from Evernote on my Mac, in case Evernote ever goes belly-up. I asked about this on a help ticket and got this response: You can use your desktop apps while being offline, however you do need to use Evernote to see your documents. If you sync them, you can always see them on our WebClient too. You could also (as a backup) put them in a compressed file and add a password to that file. This requires 3rd party tools and has nothing to do with Evernote. Looks like backing up to a compressed file is the way to go. (Unless someone has a better option?) I'd love to know what folks are using to back up the files, since it's not something you can do with the Evernote software, apparently. Thanks! Kathy P.S. A broader question... Just how concerned about this do we need to be? I know many of us are scanning documents to Evernote and then shredding the hard copy. I see that mentioned on a lot of productivity/organization blogs. I love the idea of an almost-paperless office, but I don't want to lose my data.
  18. I have read and looked around but did not find anything on this with an easy 2 step process. I would like to save all notes at once in html form that could be retrieved easily after in case of crash. My sense would be to save all notes in one file -say in my desktop- and then save that file into Yahoo eMail. Could anyone please show me step by step how could I do that? Thank you kindly Note: Do the Forum posts offer the ability for me to get immediate notification to my eMail when somebody posts an answer? Thank you kindly.
  19. Hi - I'm planning to use Evernote to create student portfolios in a kindergarten class. These will include audio files, photos and notes. I'm so excited about the relative ease with which I will be able to do this compared to other methods used in the previous year. However, I'm concerned about the security of the files and how to transfer/backup files. 1. Are my files secure? Is there a way of making them more secure. 2. What is the best way to back up. I'm a new user of dropbox and would prefer to backup using that program. Having not been taught exactly how to do it, I tried clicking, dragging and dropping to a new file over to dropbox. I ended up with a file but dropbox can't read the file - I also tried exporting it and then just got a hodgepodge of symbols. ooops, can you tell, I'm way over my head. Any assistance, guidance or help would be most appreciated. janet
  20. Hi, I'd like to export all the photos in one notebook (to import them in lightroom). Does anyone know if it is possible to export all the photos in a notebook in one, easy procedure? I'd hate having to do that one by one. Thanks! Jurriaan
  21. Does anyone know if there's a way to salvage local notes but not in the standard way of export>import? - Unfortunately my G5 Mac has died suddenly and I had some local Notebooks on there which I didn't have a chance to backup (export), but I do have a complete Time Machine backup of the HD including Evernote. Although I can't run my previous Evernote from this backup, I can access the files in the User > Library > Application Data > Evernote folder, and there's a folder within this named 'Content' which has more folders within containing each Note as html file etc. I'd like to know if it's possible to copy these files to Evernote on my new machine and my old Local Notebooks magically reappear?! - I guess this would mean copying the .sql file too... well everything. If anyone out there has done anything like this, as I'm approaching with caution not to ruin my fresh install. thanks.
