  1. Hi, I dropped a shared notebook that I was following, and have noticed that I still have a couple of tags from it remaining in my Tag View. This is the only place they exist. They are not in The Tag List in the sidebar My Evernote web account Either of my iOS device clients Things I have tried: Right-click and select Delete Tag (I get a dialog saying that I can't because it's in a Shared notebook) Drag the tag to the Trash (Adds the tag to my Shortcuts) Select the tag and press Backspace (No effect) Select the tag and press Delete (No effect) Create a temporary tag, drag the unwanted tags to it so that they're nested and then delete the parent tag (Deletes the parent and puts the unwanted tags back where they were) Close and restart Evernote and repeat all of the above (Same results) Close all instances of Evernote (Desktop, web, and iOS), restart Desktop and repeat all of the above (Same results) Sign out of Evernote, sign in again and repeat all of the above (Same results) Search the forums and web for suggestions (Found all of the above, but nothing useful unless I was using a Windows client. And a statement that this would be fixed in "an upcoming update" which was a year old.) The only thing I haven't done (which I know would fix it) is to rename my database and download it from the server again. (I have no Local notebooks) I'm reluctant to do this due to the sheer size of the database and the time and bandwidth it would take. Plus this seems a rather nuclear option for an issue that, frankly, shouldn't have occurred in the first place if Evernote removed shared notebooks correctly. Have I missed anything that might work? Or is this yet another known bug that is being ignored while they mess around with the interface repeatedly? Thanks, Stephen
  2. When I type, I get a putt putt and stutter for no reason. Please help me fix the lag delay, it's just an uncomfortable experience. Windows 7 Desktop Client Latest version of Evernote Trash is empty Restarted machine after reinstaling Logged out of client and back in (but I didn't restart in between) Plenty of free space available on the SSD (60.8 MB Fixed 16.1 GB free) Evernote Debug was not helpful either Options appear to be configured correctly, doesn't look like a sync issue I tried to optimize database Help > Optimize (after holding down CTRL) but no luck Here is a snippet from my activity log - any ideas? 02:11:36 [2296] Command line: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote\Evernote.exe" /Task:NewNote /Hide 02:11:36 [7948] GA: Failed to send event (error: Unknown error 0x800C0005) 02:11:36 [7948] GA: Failed to send event (error: Unknown error 0x800C0005) 02:12:02 [7948] GA: Failed to send event (error: Unknown error 0x800C0005) 02:12:06 [7948] GA: Failed to send event (error: Unknown error 0x800C0005) p.s. - I do not wish to use the web client
  3. I use the database daily, and have a massive amount of tags to allow for cross-referencing research. The tags are tiered from what would effectively be a macro to a micro tag, sometimes 3 tiers deep (e.g. Banks -> Bank of Canada -> Stephen Poloz). I collapse the tags to try to make what I'm looking at more efficient, but am constantly plagued by what I'd amount to either poor planning or a glitch. I am not sure exactly what I do (or evernote does) to cause this, but my collapsed tags frequently all expand as I open the 'tag' homepage. I think it may occur when I tag search, back out of a tag search, or perhaps when I change a tag. If I've collapsed things on the full 'tag' landing page, they should stay collapsed unless I actually open them. This should be regardless of whether you show me search results with the tags fully expanded. The search should reveal all the information, but my 'tag' homepage should be cleaner than that. In the immediate though, a very pleasant and quick patch would be a button or +/- or something allowing to expand/collapse all tags. That way any time I either a) want to see everything or b ) don't want to see everything/see only my top tier tags (both options could be really important), I can quickly click one single thing instead of having to scroll through pages of tags and having to go through the ridiculous activity of collapsing everything.
  4. Hello everyone, since now a few days, the notes I have created from my windows desktop evernote application is no longer synchronizing with the server and so my other devices (mac and IPad). I thought it was an issue with the IPad, so I have reinstalled it but it hasn't change anything. I then logged online to evernote web, and I can see that the notes have not been updated (it is showing me 84 notes, while I have 97 notes on my Evernote desktop) It is quite an issue as I usually create new notes on my windows computer and access them on my ipad.. or other mac computer. I have updated the new desktop version today, but it hasn't improved anything. For your information, I have created a note on my IPad and I can see the note on evernote web and the windows desktop evernote Note created on IPAD --> I can see it on both evernote web and evernote windows desktop Note created on Evernote web --> I can see it on both evernote ipad and evernote windows desktop. But note created on windows desktop--> no update on IPAD and evernote web. Any idea? Is it the windows desktop app which has an issue? cheers, jacques
  5. Hi all, Probably a simple question: I have just started to use evernote and understand that their is their are the web and desktop/windows format. I can only find the reminder button functionality on the web evernote? Am I missing something on the desktop version? Also, if I choose to work only on the web evernote, will my information, notebooks and so on synch to my desktop version? I have seen that the other way around is possible, however, I like the look of the web version, especially since it has the reminder function which is awesome. Thanks for your input folks
