  1. I have a question about the sign up process. Say we have a user: Joe.Bloggs@megacorp.com Who has been using Evernote personally via his personal email Joe.Bloggs@gmail.com We would like to set up Evernote business for everyone @megacorp.com using "approve by email domain" as described in the FAQ, so Joe receives his invitation via his work email. Can Joe accept this invitation for his existing @gmail.com address, or does his personal account have to be @megacorp.com? If Joe is already premium Evernote, does the business sign up supersede that, so megacorp.com gets billed for the monthly business account, and Joe does not get billed for premium anymore? If the intent of Evernote business is to allow people to use Evernote personally and professionally, and continue with their personal account after leaving megacorp.com, it would seem strange if they would continue to have an Evernote account registered to a megacorp.com email address after they have left.
  2. Today we're releasing a public beta of SureNotifier for Evernote Business: a service that keeps track of and notifies you of what notes have been changed within your Business account. Now you can always know when your colleagues are updating notes that are of interest to you. You'll know who changed each note, and when. The basic service is free for all Evernote Business users. To sign up or get more information, please visit www.surenotifier.com.
  3. I have a problem with my client's Evernote Business account, and I'm very afraid it's systemic. There appears to be no way to access the company's directory of members and shared notebooks in the latest version of EB, even without the beta on. This is disastrous. They had a very organised system that relied on the Company Directory, and being able to join and un join notebooks that had been published. Could you please let me know if this is a glitch or a permanent change? Is this a way to force Evernote Business customers to use Spaces? I had really hoped to be out doing workshops and getting new Evernote clients, but this latest shake up at Evernote Business with the whole Spaces thing is costing me a lot. Since December the un-billable hours are piling up horribly. Most of it is in support I have to give to clients that have been using Evernote for coming up to 8 years, and were happy with it. Before I spend much time figuring out what they can use instead of Spaced Evernote, is there any way to go back a version? The whole Spaces thing does not work for their situation. There are three tiers of access required for each of 12 companies. General staff have access to the general level of information, for the company or companies they work for. Managers need first and second level info about each of the companies they work with, and sometimes access to historic notes, but they don't always need on demand access to those notebooks. The corporate principals need to see completely different information, across all companies. The whole reason that Evernote is better than a folder hierarchy such as Dropbox is that users can have varying levels of access to each shared notebook individually, then stack them as they work for them. This is not possible with Spaces. OH! And what's up with the the idiot message that warns you, each time you put a note in a shared notebook, that the people you are sharing the notebook with will be able to see your note .... Well, as my client (who is NOT an information technologist or a software designer) said, "Isn't that the whole point of shared notebooks? This Evernote is getting to be more work than it's worth." This whole Spaces thing has been thought through somewhat the same way as NEW COKE. Evernote had a good thing for user friendly business electronic data sharing. Now it's pretty, but not very useful. The folks that could do something about it have too many layers of creative type and outside apps between them and the customer. Thanks for listening, -Mandy Watson, ECC at Fabulous Filing Friends Falkland, British Columbia, Canada
  4. I can update the user attributes like userName, familyName, givenName, formatted, active and displayName using API [Method=PUT , URL=https://<host>/scim/v2/<id>] and I tried to do the same with the password attribute , It responds with status [200 - OK] , but the user's password is not updated. Is there any other API is available for password reset?
  5. For Evernote SCIM API, I am able to do CRUD Operations using Bearer token from Admin Console -> Integrations -> SCIM -> token. As per our requirement, I need to generate the token using Three Legged OAUTH Flow (Authorization code flow/ Implicit Grant flow). Is there any other API's available for Three legged OAUTH flow in Evernote SCIM API?
  6. I'd like to request that Evernote consider adding a note count column to the Notebooks view in the Admin panel of Evernote Business: It is really hard for a business admin to "clean up" the published notebook list in an Evernote Business Account. You can see if there are zero users joined to a notebook, but you can't tell if there are notes in that notebook or not...even when you click on the notebook to get additional information about it. And, when you go to delete a notebook, it warns you that any data in that notebook will be removed from the account, but you aren't notified if there are notes in that notebook or not. I work with several business admins who have a series of "extra" notebooks that are in their account that were created either prior to them putting a thought out system/naming convention in place, or they have evolved their overall workflows and they want to clean out the published notebooks that are no longer relevant to their workflows. The amount of extra notebooks is amplified by the fact that they can't rename published notebooks for the business. Having a quick reference to the amount of notes in the the Notebook manager view would help admins to quickly delete notebooks with no notes in them. It would also be really helpful if there was some kind of link to the notes in a notebook from the delete dialogue box where the admin could quickly see the notes in that notebook so they could determine if the notes can be deleted, or moved before the notebook is deleted.
  7. In 2014 I asked for the ability to generate a list of notebooks each user has joined in an Evernote Business account. Has this come to fruition yet? My original request stemmed from staff changes, and setting up the "new person" with the same notebooks their predecessor had. Now, I'm shuffling corporate employees' access with multiple Evernote Business accounts. This would really be helpful. Perhaps an add on to the admin console? Has anyone found a way around this?
  8. I wanted to let everyone know that our SureNotifier service is now out of beta and into official release. Thank you to those forum members who participated in beta testing and provided us with valuable feedback - we really appreciate it! For those not familiar with it: in a nutshell, SureNotifier notifies you via email and mobile push notification whenever your shared notes change. You can choose which notes to monitor, and choose how often to be notified. SureNotifier works with both Evernote Business and personal shared notes. It lets you define groups of Evernote notebooks or tags, called Notification Groups. For each of these groups, you can say how you want to receive notifications and how often. For example, you may have an important project that uses three different notebooks, so you could choose to be notified of changes in these notebooks by push notification on an hourly basis. You may also have some other notebooks containing general reference material, so you could choose to get notified about changes to those notes via email once a week. SureNotifier also brings together on one screen on your mobile device a list of the Evernote notes in each of your Notification Groups, with the most recently changed notes at the top. This lets you focus on what’s recently changed among your most important notes, and with one click, open the note directly in Evernote.
  10. Hi there, I got this question from my potential customer and not sure about it. If an admin in EB appointed another user to become an admin, does the new admin able to remove the old admin from the account? Also, when a customer sign up the EB plan with another 30 users to be registered, does the admin account consider as part of 30 users or not (meaning total account will be 31)? Have a nice day!
  11. The ability to give permissions to Notebooks on Evernote Busines splitting the company in groups that could be departments, Imagine a company with 100 users, for example. There are at least 20 Engineers, 30 Sales people, 10 HR professionals, another 20 IT professionals. So to give'em the right permission to view or edit notebooks, I have to do one-by-one. It's about 200 clicks to give all that people the right permissions. If we create the groups for them and give access to groups, when we have new users, just put'em into this group and he will have all the permissions that group has.
  12. Would it be possible to be given a separate Business email address for sending notes directly into my Evernote Business account? 16. I can rename it on my client, but it doesn't change the name in the business library for others, and I cannot figure out in the admin console how to rename it. I have a notebook that will get frequent emails to it and I want to change the name from the 20+ characters, including 3 spaces, to a shorter name with no spaces to enable easier emailing. Am I just not seeing it in the admin panel, or is something else going on?
  17. Hi there. I have been a bit disappointed to find that the Web Clipper tells me "tags not supported" when I clip things for my Business Notebooks. Is there a reason for this? Thanks Allison
  18. Does anyone have experience creating forms or templates in Evernote and using them to standardize data collection? I'm investigating better photodocumentation tools to improve how we conduct our business. I'm interested in user experiences and also to talk to a developer.
  19. Can Evernote Business be used with a short term contractor without them having or paying for evernote? I need to collaborate with a Web Designer and a video editor Am I charged for the days or weeks they are working with me?
  20. A new series of Evernote webinars on maximizing workspaces is coming soon. Could you please share a few examples of how are you using Evernote Business with your team and organization? Here is an example: "I'm a real estate agent. In my agency we use Evernote Business to keep track of the properties we are managing and the checklist we go through before renting out a property. Each checklist is shared with all the agents but we add the name of the assigner in the title."
  21. The text in quotes (starting paragraph four) appears at https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2012/12/12/evernote-for-mac-updated-with-new-premium-related-notes-and-usability-improvements/ The footnotes I've supplied, as though they were written by an Evernote employee to clarify what is meant by the "Related Notes" feature in Evernote Premium. Send all blame to me, IncrediMetaBeta. I can has brickbats... As harsh as my irony may seem ("harsh irony" being, after all, how 'sarcasm' is defined, and one man's harsh irony brings another's insightful realization), my raising this discussion topic about "Related Notes" is meant constructively as a wakeup call to management. You, who need to wake, you know who you are! Why do you persist in having a feature on the market that is so lacking in clear intention and that frustrates people? Please see the Forum member comments below, which substantiate this. And there are many other Forum comments about "Related Notes" that I have not included, from poor souls who earnestly think the failure is theirs to figure this feature out. Failure to address features and how they perform encourages perception of Evernote as not being a serious company, as one that doesn't give a hoot about its customers. "Premium feature: Related Notes We’re always looking for exciting ways to help you rediscover the content and memories stored inside of your Evernote account . This update adds a new Premium feature that does just that. (1) As soon as you start creating or viewing a note, Evernote checks to see if there are any notes in your account that relate to what you’ve written and displays these Related Notes below the note area. (2) The more you type, the more refined the Related Notes will be. If you have a long note, you’ll see a little elephant popup appear in the lower right corner of the note area. (3) This popup indicates that there are Related Notes waiting for you when you scroll to the bottom of the note. For Evernote Business users, we also display notes from Business Notebooks that you have access to, making the Related Notes section a combination (4) of your notes and those from your team." Footnotes: 1 - It's such an exciting feature that one forum member says, "one of the features that's always befuddled me is that of Related Notes". Another says, "I think "using" the related notes functionality in any respect would be pretty risky. I look on it as an occasionally useful, frequently amusing and largely cosmetic thing that will be a good idea when it actually works. It's not worth worrying about at this stage." Another says, "I want to get more out of my notes with correlations and that is what I really expect from Evernote. There are apps that do that, and EN pretends it can do the same but once again that is a fallacy. Now I realise I am unlikely to get it." Actually, it's an exciting feature in the sense that, if you want to see what notes we've found that may be related, when the pop-up comes up, you have no choice but to stop everything else that you were doing and act to rediscover it right when it pops up while you're saving something to Evernote, because the moment you click the background of the saved webpage, the related notes popup will be gone forever. Gone! You may have not expected nor wished to be interrupted with this clarion call. You may have meant simply to save the item and continue what you were doing. But, if you want to see what else we've discovered that this item you're saving is related to, you'd better act now. This is a one-time offer! You can't come back to it later. We've found an association, and if you looked at it NOW, it might be illuminating, though of course it might not be, and we may have just been blowing smoke. But it's a one-time offer for you to examine it and you may never see this association again. You know, exciting, like a bloody carnival barker. 2 - So, note 1 above notwithstanding, we will search for you and bring up for you these "related notes", not only when you create a note, but also when you view an existing one! But the search for related notes apparently searches only with reference to what you've written, not what you've merely copy-saved to Evernote. Your mileage may vary. But any related notes we find will appear below the note area. Though, since the copy area of the note is all that is below, and there are no regions or areas of the Note other than the copy area, we frankly don't know what region of the Note we're talking about, but we're adamant that any related notes will appear below the note area. Maybe what we mean is that they will be APPENDED below the COPY AREA. But we don't know, because we did not really check this smiley help page before publishing it online. But we're offering a free brain chip to the first person who can find the elephant logo that indicates that there are related notes at the bottom of your already saved note. He's a small elephant. We swear, we saw him, and he wasn't pink! 3- This little elephant popup happens if you have a long note. We don't know what we mean by long, actually. A long as a trunk? Some how, some way, it should be longer than short, but we don't know what we mean by short, either. Have you ever seen one of these little elephants? We could have shown you an image of one in context, so you could see for yourself what we mean by "the lower right corner of the note area". Note carefully, that this is "the lower right corner of the note area" we're referring to. It emphatically is not the bottom right corner of the note area we're referring to. That would be silly, wouldn't it, because why would we use the little elephant to let you know there are related notes at the bottom, if we were already making you scroll all the way to the bottom to find him? So, he'll show up, if related notes are found, which as you know, we don't always find. And if he doesn't show up, then either we didn't find any related notes or maybe he's off looking for peanuts. 4- As interesting and potentially valuable as this "Related Notes section" feature of Evernote Business may be be to you, which can be found only in Evernote Business, and which we are definitely not going to provide a direct link to, one that would show you an image of what that area of the Evernote Business screen looks like; we just didn't have time. Maybe you subscribe to it already... Maybe you don't... We don't know! Are you tantalized? Have you ever seen the jumping frog of Calaveras Country? Well, maybe, if we decide that we'd really like to sell Evernote Business by describing adequately what it does, then we'd provide an illustrated description. Oh! But we would never do that here since this is the forum/support section, not Sales, see? And we know for a fact that no one who comes to support ever buys anything else from us again, right? So it'd be pointless to provide the link. And any way it'd just get people all escited, thinking that related notes actually is a real feature. You see, dear friends, we like you, we appreciate your patronage and we think that our product, which is still evolving, that, on balance, it provides good value. Our founder has dreams. As reported in the media they include planting chips in people's brains, so that they can sponge up more information and recall it as needed. Sometimes he even remembers to bring his chip to work. Hey, People! If anyone saw Phil's chip in the men's room, please leave it with Vicki!
  22. Hey everyone. I have researched this on Google to try and find a solution, but it has lead to no success. My client has 2 computers in the front of his office. He calls the Front Desk, Back Desk. His employees work off these two computers to handle all the misc. tasks that happen at this front desk. He is an Evernote Business subscriber and all his employees have their own login for EB. I set them up a daily tasks notebook with a template of their daily task list in the notebook which they copy and create a note off of every day. The issue they are running into now is: 1 employee will be logged in and working on the task list, but this causes the task list to become unusable by the other employee. The other employee sees the icon of the employee who is editing the note as well as sees a blue box around the note (snippet view) with an arrow pointed up. While the note is like this, the employee who is not editiing the note can click the note, but cannot type or check boxes off. The funny thing is, when the editing employee clicks a different note and leaves the subject note, the note is still "locked", even after syncing on both machines. I tested this from my office to his (I am also a user in his group while we get him set up), and I was able to edit the note, sync and then he saw the changes immediately on his end. He then made an edit and synced and I saw his changes. I never left the note at all and we were able to "collaborate" pretty much in real-time (using sync) without any locks or blocking of editing. Any ideas on this? (Sorry for the long winded note, I hope I was able to explain the situation clearly). Sorry, one more thing... It seems as though if left alone, the note will free itself back up and become editable by someone else. But the timeframe is unknown and seems to differ from time to time.
  23. Can you help me out? The rapid UI changes are leaving me a little in the dust with clients on a different platform. Would someone make a screen shot of the left-hand sidebar in Evernote Business using the Windows desktop app (with everything expanded)? You can blur out names of course. I'm dealing with a client who needs a lot of explicit/click-here help -- and I need an updated reference, so I can be more helpful and specific. (And - wouldn't it be nice if there were a library of these screenshots somewhere, where we all could access? I'm happy to start one - or be pointed to one that already exists.) Thank you!
  24. I had a question... How serious do Evernote take Evernote Business? So I went to the forum to see what the hive of activity was in the EN Business section. Most recent post about 5 star escort girls. I think this might go some ways to answering my question.
  25. Hey everyone! I am looking for some advice from those of you that have gone through what we are currently doing. We are looking to move all of our data to a unified note system. I have proposed Evernote (based on my personal experience using Evernote for years), while other have proposed competitors such as OneNote. My question to all of you is: How can I convince my company to choose Evernote over the competition? What strategies have you used in your implementation?
