  1. Folks - we're releasing an update to Mac 6.12 with a fix for a persistent crash some users are seeing on quit. Please help us validate and hopefully it'll provide some respite to those encountering the issue while we prep to push this out broadly early next week. You can download the Beta here. Thanks, Chantal and the rest of the Mac team
  2. I enabled sync-on-demand on my Win10 mini-notebook (didn't have a choice - it was brutal trying to edit a note). I'm now faced with one of the drawbacks to that syncing method: what to do when you know you will not have internet access. I know how to get around that with my android phone, as I have a dedicated "On Device" notebook which is set to "offline" on my phone, meaning everything in the notebook gets downloaded to the phone. There is no equivalent for a Windows machine. I mean I suppose I could create a local folder, export it, and import it onto the mini-laptop. That should work, and I will do that if I have to, but I consider that work-around. I don't want to have to do that every time I travel with my mini, and I don't want those files not be local at the end of the day. I've read that searching for stuff auto-downloads the notes in on-demand-sync mode, so I figured clicking on my TIFF notebook might do the same thing, i.e., I expected it would download the 215 notes in that notebook. Not so. It seems that I have to click on every single note, one at a time, to get it to download. Thinking I was being clever, I thought I might just do a search for all files in that notebook that have a size of 0 B. Turns out you can't search for size, or should I say that 30 minutes of searching the internet with no results leads me to believe Evernote does not support searching for file size. Not sure I can search for "sync" either, and anyway it isn't clear to me if a synced note as the dot or not because some 0 B files have the dot, others don't. Plan B: sort by file size. That works, until I click on one of those 0 B notes then it changes to 112 KB and the cursor moves along with the note in its new placement in the list. I got tired of playing yo-yo with the go back to the top of the list every few seconds. I tried quickly selecting a few 0 B notes thinking that might force a sync. No. The only thing I can think of now is to select the 0 B files in batches and tag it with something that I will then display and not have to sort by 0 B. It is very difficult to select multiple notes because the second you click on one the list re-sorts. After multiple tries, I was able to select small groups of 0 B files, tag them, and then select the tag. BUT... I still have to manually click on each note, one at a time, to get it to download, so it's all for nothing really. Is there a better way to download all notes in a notebook?

  4. I just updated to (Screenshot below) and now all my notebooks appear in list view. !!!! I hate this view. How can i get back to my old view where i saw all my notebooks as a grid view / columns view?.
  5. To be clear - when I type I can type 1-2 letters and then it stops (sooo frustrating) working and a red exclamation mark appears up over the sync wheel. Pasting is completely disabled. I am not trying to sync (as my limits up), just need to be able to still add/edit notes (offline). I am running on a Mac Sierra and have the latest app version of Evernote. Any help would be much appreciated.
  6. New version of Evernote with the 'new' tables don't print correctly. No matter how wide I make the table or if I print at <100%, it crops off the text in the box (see attached).

    notebook layout

I regret to have downloaded the new version of evernote, as now my notebooks are all organized in a list. This does not give a good overview - one has to scroll down + it is an extremely boring layout. The old book form (the little squares) where better in both aspects (going from left to right, it was possible to see many more notebooks on the screen.) My request is to allow users to choose for themselves if they want list or books (just add an icon next to "your list" => sort by => books (instead of only number of notes, etc., names etc.) , and why in addition (later, after this has been solved) do not also work on a version that allow users to add other distinguishing features, depending on their own preferences (shapes, colors,)
  8. Hello, While checking Evernote Webclipper I spotted a very big problem. See screenshot. Evernote clipps an article with a terrible font and, because I clipped a lot of websites, it would take too much time to manually change a font. Setting different deafult font does not help. On the screenshot you can see comparison between Pocket and Evernote. Is there any way to solve this problem?
  9. Is it actually so that you demand me logging in to Windows as an administrator, before I can update Evernote for Windows? I currently run Evernote (304720) Public on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit as a Windows User Account. When I try to Run Evernote As Administrator, I still get the message: "An administrator needs to login and install the new version." Why is this so, and can you please fix this software so that it can update itself without having to log out of Windows an in as a Windows Administrator Account?
  10. I'm no longer a paying customer, so I mainly use the web version but I can't figure out how to copy a note to a different notebook? I'm using Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro, both 64bit and Google Chrome. In the Desktop version I can copy a note by right clicking on it but I can't figure out how to do it on the web version.
  11. Hi, The list notebook view is extremely bad. I can just go use Asana or MS Notes if I wanted this view. The best part about notebooks is to visually see notebooks and have them stacked. This is a major step back. Please allow to revert back. Thanks
  12. I have a lot of notes with text blocks formatted as Code. Suddenly these blocks appear to have been oddly reformatted, with each line apparently enclosed in a doubly-nested code block. I can select these lines, then "Simplify Formatting" and they are transformed to a single block with default text style. Then I can reapply the Code style to get something like what I had. But what a pain!

    Evernote for Mac 6.12.1 GA

Folks - we've releasing an update to Mac 6.12 with a fix for a persistent crash some users are seeing on quit. It's now available on the App Store or download it here. The link on the evernote.com website should be updated in the next day or so. Thanks, Chantal and the rest of the Mac team
  14. Hi all, The exact same search yields different results in the Evernote Desktop Windows version and the Evernote App on Android version 7.12. Specifically I am using tags to filter my search, using the following search string: tag:\Home tag:!NextAction In windows, it works well. On Android, it returns "No notes were found that match your search". Note I'm using the exact same search string as this is a saved search I keep as shortcut so is accessible from both evernote on desktop and android. Any idea why this isn't working? Many thanks.
  15. Hello, I wanted to merge two notes (one ink note and another text note) and when I did it I lost my recently created ink noted and appears as an attached .bin file. I don't know how to open it and I cannot recover my draw because the note was just created and dont appear as a history to recover. any idea? Why this happens? If it's not possible to merge an ink note to an existing one it should say it instead of having this behavior...
  16. Hi, As a new Evernote user with a recently purchased premium account I have been enjoing the evernote experience and icnreasing my grasp on the software across all platforms. All of a sudden, after a note with multiple pdf attachments (15 or so) with the size approx. 75 mb in total, evernote DESKTOP started to operate sloggishly especially in attempts to work on that particular note. I cannot delete or change this note for a while as I shared its link with collegues. I see there are similar posts with regards to Evernote slowing down and this is incredibly alarming for me. I have gone thorough nearly all similar posts and performed CTRL + Help optimizations and some other setting sync changes as suggested by other users. Nothing helped. Am wrong thinking this is what you get from EN eventually? As I am recent EN user with just 300 or so notes, is there a recent fix for this kind of issues I might not have seen? Is it best to migrate from Evernote before I have more notes than I can handle transferring other medium. Thank you
  17. I'm creating a separate topic for this issue, also see I'm still getting the conflict problem in Evernote Version 6.12.1 (455453 Direct) I can't tell you how frustrating this is, and how disappointed in Evernote I am. How can I fix this problem? Evernote Support suggested a reinstall (https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314248-How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Evernote). I tried this but it doesn't work. I even switched from App Store version to Direct. No luck. Can you please post a link to an older version of Evernote so I can downgrade? I revoked access to my Evernote account for everything except my Mac. I still get conflicts. So it has nothing to do with other devices in my case.
  18. First of all, I only use Evernote on one device (my macbook). From nowhere else there's access to the account (I've checked it on my settings). The thing is that after I've updated to Version 6.12.1 I've been getting these "conflicting changes" alerts every 10 min. It occurs while I'm typing on my notes and, all of the sudden a warning pops up saying I've got a conflicting change. I've already disabled the automatic sync (put it on manual) but, despite doing that, it keeps syncing automatically every so often. This is extremely irritating. I can't get any work done since I'm always having to delete the previous note and migrate the new one to the original notebook and, as I said, this is happening every 10 or so minutes. I love evernote and was ready to upgrade my account but, honestly, now I'm thinking I'll have to migrate to another note-taking system. Please help. Edit: already did a complete uninstall on Evernote but it keeps doing the same thing.

    Fatal error

I've been getting a fatal error while opening one of my notes that's extremely important to the job I'm on. A box opens suggesting that I send the Log error to evernote and I do But zero response. I've also sent a ticket in for this issue. If I cannot open this not I will have lost days of work. I hope Evernote will look into this topic now and I exhausted my option with this program. Attached is the Fatal error log . Regards, Neil Platon Evernote_exe_6_6_4_5512_20170908_160918.txt
  20. In previous ios versions the triple dash type --- was a quick way to create a Line break. In ios 11 the new keyboard doesn’t allow one to do this quick as far as I can tell. Is there another way to do this quick?

    Sign In feature

Hi, No doubt evernote is a great tool for writing and managing online notes and it has pretty many cool features. However, as a front-end developer I personally feel that the in the sign in prompt, we are asked to enter our e-mail and when we click continue it again asks our password : it looks kinda odd I mean either you can ask both of them on the same prompt(preferable) or have separate prompt for both. The pop-up type transition which occurs when we click continue seems to be forced upon the UI for no reason.
  22. It would be great if the New Files App supported Evernote as a location for files. Some of my customers are beginning to use iPad Pro as their main computer. The Files App will become central to their workspace.
  23. Hi, I created notes on my iPhone. Only parts were synced...when returning back to the office, opende Evernote, the sync wasn't complete. I tried to see what data I was missing...and poef, also the notes on my iPhone were synced where the desktop version was leading: now I am missing parts of my notes (which I created on my iPhone!!!). How can I use version history on my iphone, I really NEED TO RETRIEVE THE DATA! I am a premium user but I do not see an option of version history inApp.
  24. My question relates to switching from the App Store version of Evernote to the non-App Store version of Evernote. Currently, I have version 6.10 (454269 App Store) installed on my Macbook running Yosemite (OS X 10.10.5). For various reasons, Iʻd like to manually install (and therefore update) to Evernote 6.12 (455415). Can I do this safely without losing all my notes? Iʻd like the new features of Evernote version 6.12 but I donʻt want to risk losing any data. And unfortunately, I can no longer update through the App Store. PS - Iʻm excited about the new improvements to Evernote. Maybe Iʻm naive but my sense is the company is listening to its users and responding, which hasnʻt always been the case.
