  1. Rather than maintain an in-house editor for Notes, incorporate the TinyMCE ( https://www.tinymce.com/) editor into the Evernote Web Client TinyMCE is a fully featured, embedded HTML editor, that could provide all the edit feature typically available in many web-based application and provide a more consistent and feature-rich editing environment across all supported platforms ENML may need to be extended to allow support for the additional feature of HTML5, or conversely the editor could be "cut back" to only support the elements currently available in ENML
  2. I need help getting back deleted notes. This happened a week or so ago. TLDR: I had a mixup with devices and my basic account. That resulted in me losing my notes. I still have the source .enml files, but can't open them. What do I do? I can't contact support with my basic account, so I'm writing here. --------- I have a basic account, so only 2 devices can be used. My laptop was associated with my account, but the motherboard broke, so I replaced it. That meant that my computer was recognized by Evernote as a new computer. So I removed my old computer, and logged into my new computer. That started me with a blank slate - I lost all my notes and notebooks from the web interface. I went to look on my mac to see if the library source files of the notes were there, and they were! They were not recognized by the Evernote app though. So the raw data is there, but it can't be opened by Evernote, and I've tried to use 3rd party solutions (Mac App: Alternote, Web App: http://enml-editor.ping13.net ) but they don't work. I tried uninstalling evernote, logging back in and out, rebooting, copying files, etc. Nothing works. Can I recover this data from Evernotes servers? How can I contact them without a paid account? --------- My goal: get my notes back. My Hope: I have the data on my desktop My request: how do I open / restore / import / view the source / get the text, etc. of my old notes? Freaked out! Help?
  3. Hi, Evernote has recently been updated to remove paragraph formatting styles. I was using this feature a lot and it made my notes visually meaningful very quickly. It was rather inconsistent between platforms, I agree, but still, at least it was practical. Now, to accomplish the same thing, I need to select the text I want formatted, select a font, select a size, select a style (italicized, bold or underlined) and hope I'll remember it on the next heading. I hate that! It slows me down and takes me away from writing the note to formatting it. So I've turned to the next best thing: markdown. Markdown is actually very good in helping format my thoughts while I'm writing them, which is the whole point. Now the problem is, Evernote doesn't render markdown, so I need to take my note to a third party app to convert it, and then paste it where I need to use it (like back in Evernote!). Very dumb process. I think I'm not the only one missing paragraph formatting styles and/or markdown support, here. I saw other threads talking about alternative (and sometimes complicated) work-around to this issue. I just don't see why this could be so hard to integrate. Thanks for listening. François

    mac ENML

First of all, excuse me if I am not on the right forum here and hopefully then redirect me to the right place? I've been using the enml editor and have got some really nice templates made for my classes. Now I would really like to know if it is possible to add an image map using the enml editor? And if so, how would that work as the enml is different than normal html and the <map> tags are not working ( I tried a umber of things). At least I couldn't get it to work. Just to be clear: I have a full size image I'm using in a notebook note. I would like to place a link within the image (in html you can use image mapping). I used this code in the enml editor around the img tag but the enml editor rejected it completely! <map name="map1"> <area coords="4,20,20,40" href="left_arrow.htm" name="area1" target="frame1" /> <area coords="116,20,100,40" href="right_arrow.htm" name="area2" target="frame1" /></map>Where would I put it and how would it integrate properly with enml coding? Hope someone can help! Thank you.
  5. I took a note last night on my android device with 2 images in it. I noticed this morning that it didn't sync to web. Synch button on phone didn't do anything, so I tried logging out. It informed me that the unsaved note will be saved to /sdcard/evernote/unsaved_notes When I logged back in, the Evernote app doesn't recognize that note at all. The enml & 2 dat files do still exist in that directory, but I can't identify how to import them into my account. Anyone know how I can do this? I've searched far and wide, but keep coming up short.
  6. For the last month or so, all the notes I've entered into the Evernote Android App have not synced to my account. When I would click 'sync', it would say 'sync failed' within seconds. To fix the problem, I first made a backup copy of the 'evernote' folder located on the SD Card. I then went into "Manage Applications" in the android settings menu and cleared app data. Upon reopening Evernote, it prompted for my username and password, and synced perfectly fine. The issue is, my notes for the past month have not synced. Here is my question: Is there a way to restore my notes from this last month, via the 'evernote' folder located on the SD Card? Within the folder, I notice individual content.enml files which contain the data of each note. I'm unsure of a way to mass-import all of these into my evernote account.
