  1. Hi been playing with Evernote for a few months and really like it. Although I currently have a premium account for a year courtesy of my mobile supplier. Don't think I could justify another subscription service on a limited budget. I've just started using a doxie scanner and would ideally like to use with Evernote but I'm struggling a little with workflow. Currently I 1 scan the document(s) 2 connect scanner to PC via USB to view/rename in doxie app 3 send to Evernote 4 file in Evernote I have a Wi-Fi card for scanner but doxie says that scans done that way cannot be searchable PDFs? Am I missing something obvious? Also once scanned and uploaded how do I manage/reconcile electronic copies with paper. There are some scans that for various reasons I also need to keep paper copies of. I'm scanning these so I have easier access from multiple locations. There are others that I'm nervous to shred in case for some reason I can't access e copies. On well think that's quite enough for my first post. Nice to meet use all. Btw resources mix of windows/android. Use to be quite a Mac advocate though could never justify UK prices. Now been usin DOS/window's so long difficult to break ties after 30 something years lol Trevor
  2. Owned a Doxie Go for some time and love this little portable battery powered scanner. It goes with me everywhere. For those of us who own and registered this product we appear to have an unbeatable offer! The new Doxie Go Wifi list price is $229, but we get if for $149. Just ordered mine along with the case as I keep turning mine on accidentally in my bag. http://www.getdoxie.com/info/products.html Best regards Chris
  3. I recently purchased a Doxie Go scanner in order to go paperless. I LOVE the combination of Doxie and Evernote, with the exception of one huge annoyance -- every time Doxie sends a scan to Evernote, Evernote jumps to the foreground, taking control of my Mac. Since I tend to scan many documents at a time to the Doxie app which sends them to Evernote one at a time, this grows incredibly annoying. Every 5 - 10 seconds, Evernote jumps to the foreground and interrupts my workflow. I imagine I can't be the only one with this issue -- any suggestions on how to resolve it? Thanks!
  4. Hello, I am looking at scanning all my reciepts, tax stuff, etc. I have a flatbed scanner, but it is upstairs (I am in basement), and the Epson software is atrocious. I like the idea of a Doxie Go for travel too, easier to do my expenses while still in hotel, and that it could just sit on my desk without clutter. But the lack of duplex is not great, wifi built in would be nice, etc. I notice that the Doxie Go came out over two years ago. I am assuming that they must have an updated model in the works. Are there any rumours of this? ~Shea M.
  5. Hello, In my workflow, it appears I have two OCR points: 1 - scan paper document using Doxie Go into Doxie software. Doxie software provides option to save your PDF with OCR info. 2 - upon importing this OCR'd PDF into Evernote, I'm assuming that the PDF gets OCR'd again (I have Evernote Premium). So, my question is this ... does Evernote ignore the OCR information from Doxie or is it recognized and used? Or is the OCR effort in some way duplicated by Evernote? Thanks!
  6. Hello! I just bought a Doxie Go, and my plan is to import a bunch of OCR'd PDFs into Evernote. Here is my issue: When I send PDFs directly from the Doxie app into Evernote, the text is not OCR'd (I can't select the text, search it, etc.). However, if I save my scans with OCR to my desktop and THEN import the file into Evernote, the PDF is searchable, text is selectable, etc. So, my question is: can I export scans directly from the Doxie app as OCR'd PDFs? Or must I continue to first save the files with OCR to my desktop and then drag/drop those files into Evernote? FYI: I am NOT an Evernote premium user. I was hoping that I'd be able to continue to not pay for Evernote and just use the OCR from Doxie. Thanks so much!
  7. I've been thinking about purchasing and using a scanner to automate my business document cycle for some time now. I'm looking to see how many people here have been using the document scanning feature with Evernote Premium. Which scanner are you using? Also, to increase the scope of this post for the business forum, what other products in the Evernote Marketplace have you purchased to improve and further leverage Evernote?
  8. Hey Evernote Community, I am looking to go Paperless in the immediate future, and was wondering which portable scanner works best with Evernote. I have done some of my own research and keep being brought back to two options: Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100 Doxie GoIf you have a different suggestion, please explain why you choose that specific model and if possible, provide a link. I appreciate everybody's feedback - James R.
  9. I've recently went paperless with a Doxie go, an Eye-Fi card and Evernote. Quick question - I can send images straight to Evernote and save documents to readable .pdfs. But I want to send the readable .pdfs straight to Evernote. Any ideas?
  10. Hey guys, I had a friend recently looking for some advice on document storage, so naturally I turned him on to Evernote. I thought my system may be useful to some people, so I wrote a little blog post about it. Let me know what you think and how your system is set up! http://aaronfrancis.com/blog/2013/2/26/how-i-use-evernote-and-ifttt Aaron
  11. Doxie just released it's new scanner. Doxie Go. Check out the review here. http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/12/the-doxie-go-personal-and-portable-scanner/ Like the original Doxie Scanner it features an integration that allows for direct scanning to Evernote.
