  1. Working with a specific note in its own window and Evernote main window minimized to dock. When clicking on the dock icon to bring the note back to the front, Evernote main window is also restored, obscuring the note being used. It then has to be re-minimized. This is inconsistent with behavior of other applications on Mac when multiple windows are open.
  2. Currently when I click the Evernote icon in the Mac OS X dock to bring it back from a hidden state, it always brings up the full Evernote window. This is annoying. If I have an individual note open and hide the app, when I click the dock icon I want it to show only the individual note. Is there any way to work around this behavior?
  3. I work on OSX with a premium subscription. I have a feature request due to a problem identifying iconised windows. If I have iconised all of my Evernote windows and then I right click on Evernote in the dock, I see a list of all open windows and tabs. The window/tab titles are correct but not all are helpful. The Evernote “Main” window (the one that shows the notebooks) is labelled with the name of the currently “active” notebook. In other words, this changes from minute to minute and becomes hard to identify in the list. Please could you highlight which icon refers to the “Main” window, i.e. the one that displays all the notebooks? I suggest using a special icon for this the “main” window. ( If that is not possible, maybe you could simply use a special colour to highlight the existing icon? Unfortunately colour blind people probably wouldn’t appreciate the use of colour alone… Maybe you could simply always label that window as “Main” instead of using the name of the currently active notebook (but if someone had their own Notebook called “Main” then that solution could get very confusing!) ) …but please distinguish it for us somehow :- ) Thank you. Paul
  4. Hi guys, Ok obviously Onenote is one of Evernotes major competitors on the Windows platform and I was crossing over to the darkside the other day to have a look at its features when I realised that you can have linked notes in Onenote. These are notes which are docked beside a page or program and are linked to it so pop up when it pops up, allowing you to take notes on it as you work without changing page. It looks like this (on the right): Onenote describes its functionality as; "Taking linked notes in Microsoft OneNote 2010 Beta makes it easy to do research on your computer by letting you take notes in a docked OneNote window on your desktop while you work side-by-side in other programs or in your Web browser. Notes taken in this mode are automatically linked by OneNote to whatever you’re looking at in Internet Explorer, in Word documents, in PowerPoint presentations, or on another OneNote page in any of your notebooks. During a Linked Notes session, OneNote stores with each paragraph of notes a link to documents or Web pages that you used, so that you can click that link and easily return to this content again later on. OneNote also stores a thumbnail image of the page and a text excerpt from any Word 2010 or PowerPoint 2010 files you looked at, so that you can easily locate and recognize the correct page or slide again." From - http://www.onenotehelp.com/2009/11/19/take-linked-notes-in-onenote-2010/ So yeah what im saying is that it would be great if this were implemented into Evernote. I this possible? desirable?
  5. Hi all I use Evernote for collecting reference images and have stumbled on a problem. When I drag an image from my web browser (Safari/Chrome/Firefox) onto the Evernote icon on my dock, it creates two identical notes. It used to just create one, but something changed about a year ago. Now each time I have to delete one of the notes, which is not ideal. I'm on the latest versions of OS X and Evernote. This feels like a bug, can anyone report having the same issue? (I would use the web clipper but for some reason, for me, this creates a note that doesn't have a thumbnail) Thanks! Johnny
  6. On my Mac (OS X Yosemite 10.10.1), the Evernote dock icon is missing and comes up as, well, nothing. A blank space. See the below image. It appears this has already been posted as a topic, but each time I attempt to view that link, it says I do not have permission to view that forum. The Evernote icon appears as normal in Finder. Any ideas on why this is happening, or more importantly, how to fix this? Many thanks, SW
  7. I like to keep my dock hidden because it takes up so much of the screen and I don't need to stare at it while I'm working. Whenever I take a snapshot or create a note and save it using the Evernote menu bar helper, my dock refuses to pop up afterward. Usually, I have to either toggle off the hiding feature for a few hours or restart my entire computer to make it functional again. Is there any way to avoid this or is it a bug within the software? Thanks in advance.
  8. I just installed Evernote on my Macbook running 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion) When I use the quicklink on the menubar up top (little elephant head that let's you add a quick note) my dock stops working even when I close the quick-add note window. When I say "stops working" I mean I have it on auto-hide so when I bring my mouse to the bottom of my screen nothing happens. When I shut down Evernote the dock starts working again. Dock works fine if I open Evernote normally in Applications, breaks when I click the quick link on the menu bar. Weak. Any ideas? Didn't find any answers through my normal channels, i.e. Google. Thanks in advance.
  9. Until about a week ago, I was able to drag files onto the EV icon in my dock and a note would be created. This suddenly stopped working BUT it does work if EV is closed (I have EV pinned to the dock). I also have a folder that my scanner dumps news scans into and a program called Hazel (great program, check it out if you haven't already) would open them in EV and trash the originals. This too stopped working at the same time and only works if EV is closed. Any thoughts out there? Thanks in advance for your help!
