Hi. I'm using the Evernote for Mac app (Not downloaded from App store, but from the EN site itself). The version is 7.14. My search no longer works. For example: Searching for the work 'gift' to find my 'Holiday Gift Ideas' note, returns a note with a .pdf document containing an Appraisal I recently had done on my home. ...That's it. Maybe it contains the word 'gift' but it's certainly not the only note out of my thousands that does. Search works fine on the web: A query for 'gift' returns 66 results. Rebooting didn't help. Reinstalling didn't help. I did a bit of Googling and there seems to have been a menu item, in the past, to rebuild search indices for the desktop app. I can't find that in my menu now though so I assume it has been removed. Is there a way to force a rebuild of search indices on my local machine?
I'm trying to organize my notes hierarchically. First I tried with nested folders but it's not possible to do so as Evernote only allows one sub-folder level. After doing a search the answer people gave was to use tags as they are possible to nest this way. Great I thought, then I opened my mobile app, then I discover that it's not possible to get a hierarchical view of your tags on mobile the way you do in the desktop app. You only see Notebooks and their folder structure, you also can only set Notebooks to offline view not a tag. So the question is, how do I get a hierarchical structure and overview on to work on both desktop and mobile?
There should be some way to divide notebooks into chapters or sort their contents by tab because, while I use search, there are times where I have to study for tests with un specified content. I it would be nice if i could sort the notes by chapter in the notebook pane or use the tags to mark chapters which could be sorted out in the search pane. (And yes i know there are alredy tags I just want to be able to sort by tag)
