  1. Hi, I noticed all my notes missing.been using app from 2014. Please help on how to restore my notes back
  2. I have about 2,000 notes in Evernote and have been used it for about five years. Evernote wouldn't open the other day for some reason, so had to quit the program and restarted my computer. When I rebooted Evernote, it said I had 'ZERO' notes/files in Evernote. Completely empty! I went online to check the issue and noticed the last time I had synced was June of 2017. Our family has a block on the computer from that time and it must have for some reason not automatically synced new notes. How can I retrieve the other years of added notes? Surely they could not have just disappeared. I noticed in my OS X Trash a file (127 MB) with an Evernote app logo saying 454874. Thinking this may have my files, I tried to scoot it over. Nothing. I have since updated Evernote and synced. But the NON-SYNCED material (about 8 months) I cannot find. Help!
  3. Hi Evernote team, I just formatted my computer (the Windows partition), but left my EN database untouched at some path at D:\application-data\Evernote. I launched EN without reinstalling (the program was still there at D:\programs\Evernote), and it asked me to log in. I logged in to my account, so EN started syncing my notes. To prevent EN from downloading all my stuff from servers, I changed the database location to D:\application-data\Evernote. To my surprise, and without any prompt, EN replaced my entire database with the "fresh" one, which is strictly newer, and from the same account, but only has a single notebook with a single note it could sync (in the little interval between launching the app and changing the database path), instead of the loads of notes, notebooks and tags I've created. Furthermore, EN synced after that, so my web content was also wiped clean. I know I have a basic account, because it fits my workflow well. I've been considering upgrading, but then this happens. I still have a chance of recovering my database from another laptop, which I can't access right now. For good measure, I disabled all my devices from the webapp. My question is: How can I make sure that my laptop's database won't be wiped clean when I log in on that computer? Maybe I just need to back it up, touch the files and let them be synced again. Will try when I can access that computer. I would like to ask for some warning before the overwriting occurs. Sure, I could have legit gone offline and ditched all my notes. Then, on sync, EN would have rightfully wiped them. But then again, the "blank slate" database had been just generated from scratch, automatically. It didn't have any history in common with the thousands-notes-database that was silently deleted. Moreover, trying to recover the deleted files through file recovery software proved impossible, since the blank database overwrote the files with the same names (which is understandable). Thank you all for your support. Besides this mishap (which I hope to solve), I truly believe EN is an excellent tool.
  4. Hello, I'm a long-time user of Evernote, I like to copy-paste articles from the web and read them later on my preferred device, I'm quite happy of such tool. However it's not so perfect at all, not on this particolar "issue": deleted notes on the trash bin are losing their formatting, especially the older ones. I could move them to another notebook but on mobile it's faster to delete and keep them on the "trash" notebook... My main language is not English so please bear with me. Thanks in advance. Bye.
  5. Has anyone noticed that the "Date Deleted" column in Evernote for Window's trash bin has been cleared prior to May 29, 2016? I have a few thousand notes in my trash bin and just went in to retrieve something and noticed that the Deleted date is empty on most of them. It would seem some version of Evernote I installed either cleared them or the server did. I am putting this in the Windows forum, but honestly, it could be a Mac or iOS version that did it. I get betas on all 3 platforms. Not the end of the world, but kinda frustrating, and something I hope isn't repeated.
  6. Just found out that my most used notebook in evernote, with over 600 notes, all tagged, is moved to trash! I'm pretty sure I didn't do it. It's my most active notebook, there's no reason for my to delete it. In fact, I don't even remember any of the notebooks I created. I hope someone can explain how this happened. I managed to restore the notes from trash, but all the tags are now gone.
  7. thankfully this is a hypothetical quesiton if i delete a note from a notebook, then delete it from the trash, then buy evernote premium afterwards, can you recover that note ? thanks
  8. I have had numerous occurrences where my evernote notes are deleted. I will save a note, close it, and come back later only to find all of the content of my note to be completely gone and wiped away. I have had this happen a few times now and can't afford to keep loosing information. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I think it might have something do due with syncing between my computer, tablet, and phone, but I am not sure. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
  9. I have version 6.0.16 on a MAc using OS10.7.5. Recently I noticed that if I edit text in a note, as soon as I type within a sentence the rest of the text to the right is highlighted, then deletes. This makes is virtually impossible to edit notes now! Also, if I do a hard return, I cannot reverse it with a delete key. My laptop Evernote 6.0.8 does not do this. Is this a known problem?
  10. Hi there fellow Evernote users It seems my Mac has automatically upgraded to the latest version of Evernote. In doing so it deleted all notebooks from my account (basic) Now: I have some files on the web-based account (I know these are preserved as I can access them on my iPhone) But the local (ie.non-sync'd) files have disappeared, I fear deleted. I have not synced evernote on my mac in case this will interrupt any potential recovery. I have had a look for the local notes in: user/library/application support/evernote - to no avail. Was unable to find "~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote/Data/Library/ApplicationSupport/Evernote/account/<my username>, but I think I downloaded mine directly anyhow. Any magic suggestions out there or is this a lost cause? Phin
  11. I have been using evernote for the past year on my laptop and not using an account. This semester I have also been taking notes on evernote and my entire school life was recorded on it, notes from class, notes from my readings, important essay notes, AND now they are all gone. I logged onto my account not thinking that literally everything would be deleted and I would have to start anew. It is currently midterm season and I am currently freaking the heck out. Please someone come to my rescue. I won't be able to survive the next month or finals during december without these notes!! ANY help would be appreciated. Please - Sincerely, An even more stressed out university student
  12. I use Evernote on both my iPhone and my Macbook and have, over the past few months, depended on Evernote for lists, names, and important things to remember (as I imagine almost everyone else who uses it does). Last night, in an effort to "clean up" my Evernote, I deleted the "Conflicting Changes" folder, not thinking that it would have anything of importance in it. This morning when I was searching for my most important note, I couldn't find it anywhere - in the trash or in any of my notebooks. Is there any way to recover this note?
  13. I share a folder with a client of mine. Recently 2 notes were deleted on their end. I'm attempting to figure out how I can view the notes THEY deleted. In addition, is there an area where you can look at all history of a shared folder, especially actions of others? Suggestions/Help?
  14. I deleted a very importante note by mistake and really nerd it back. How can I recover ir? Thank you for your help!
  15. Why is Evernote for Mac so trash? Ever since I downloaded the app, it has been glitching, ghosting, and recently I have lost 3 hours worth of work. Yesterday I spent 3 hours on a psychology project. I hit sync every once in a while, though I knew that it would also auto-save. I closed Evernote when I was done. Today I opened Evernote and the note displayed info that I had entered a week ago, and nothing more. I am so angry right now it is indescribable. Unless anyone can help, I suppose I will just go back to google docs.
  16. Hey guys, Please help me. My girlfriend's account recently asked her to reset her password. She did so, and upon signing back on, has lost her last 3 weeks of notes that she had saved on there from class and all sorts pf other important stuff. They are not in the Trash folder, nor are they in that weird conflicting changes folder that sometimes appears. I thought she might have forgotten to manually sync, but she told me she had been viewing her notes for ages on different devices. They had obviously synced and been set in stone in her Evernote account. They are just plain gone. This really is unacceptable from Evernote. All of her vital notes are completely gone, all because of a password change. Can anyone help? Or is this a lost cause? Thanks a lot, Cody
  17. I have been an Evernote user on Android for about 5 months and yesterday I lost all of my notes. It happened after connecting my android (myTouch 4g) to my Windows XP laptop via USB cable. The laptop does not have Evernote on it. After downloading some photos from the android gallery to PC, I needed to refer to a note in Evernote. Upon starting Evernote it reported: "Evernote requires SD card. The SD card is not accessible when the phone is connected to your PC". Fair enough. However, when I disconnected the android from the laptop, then restarted Evernote I received this message dialog: "Evernote requires SD card. Preparing SD card". Upon clicking OK on that dialog Evernote exited. When I restarted Evernote all notes were gone. I now have zero notes. What the??? Is this a known bug? Is there a way to recover these notes? Thanks in advance for any help in getting my notes back.
