  1. Is there a way (and if there isn't could you please feed this into your new features requests queue) to automate sorting of notes that land up in the default notebook into other notebooks according to title, tags and content. Please note that I am aware of the features of being able to put notebook names and tags in the subject line of an email and these are NOT suitable for my situation. I am also aware of IFTTT but cannot find any recipies that do what I need to do. At work I am working on anythign from 3 to 10 projects at a time. Each project has a unique 6 digit code. Whenever I send an email relating to a project I put the project code at the start of the subject line. I am gradually training my co-workers to do the same. In Outlook 2010, our corporate mail client, I have rules set up to put any mail with the project code in the subject line into a matching category, for mails from co-workers who don't yet put the project code in the subject line (now few in number) I manually add the category. This means that if I want to find all the emails to do with, say, project 104985 I just have to filter by category to category 104985. Now I'm using Evernote more I'd liek to set these rules to forward project emails to my Evernote email address. Unfortunately Outlook doesn't support adding to subject lines when you forward with a rule so I can't specify the notebook name in the subject line. Ideally what I'd like to be able to do is set up a macro of some kind that will periodically scan through my default notebook and apply sorting rules to each item. As a minimum simple rules like "If the title of a note contains the string '104985' then move it to the '104985 do the thing at the place' notebook" and the ability to set priority of rules (simple move up or down a list and execute in the order of the list, once a note has triggered a rule the rest of the rules aren't executed for that note). Ideally also be able to call other rules from within a rule and have them execute so the above rule may call a rule that is something like "If any line in the body of the mail contains the strings 'From: *John Williams*' or 'To: *John Williams*' or 'CC: *John Williams*' (where * is, in common with many systems/applications, a wildcard for 0 or more characters) then add the tag 'Half a Job'".
  2. This must be a simple one but I'm hoping someone can save me some time. Right now if I save a picture or anything else for that matter, the default notebook is not the one I'd like it to be. How can I change this such that the default notebook is the one in which I put most of my stuff. Thanks, Mike
  3. I've been using Evernote free edition for years, mainly on my Android phone but also on a Win7 laptop. I have about 10 notebooks, maybe 150 notes in total. I have noticed recently that notes I have created in specific notebooks are showing up in "My Notebook," which is my default notebook. While I have updated the content in these notes I have not done anything else to move them from their notebooks. Yet they still move themselves from where they are to "My Notebook" I have tried to move them back to the notebooks I want and sync with the server. I verify that after the sync they're where I want them, and yet the next time I come in they'll be back in "My Notebook." I have created new notes in notebooks other than "My Notebook" and seen them migrate to "My Notebook." It seems that activity on the note causes it to move. I stopped using Evernote on my laptop to see if the relocation had anything to do with multiple clients but it didn't make any difference. The behavior persisted even when it was just me on my Droid. I dumped Activity logs before I reset the notes, after I moved the notes back and synced, and then after the notes had auto-moved back to "My Notebook" to see if I could diff them and see what was happening. Nothing jumped out at me. I googled and found out how to submit a bug report. I submitted this problem and included the last activity log, which included all the testing I did. I guess only paying customers can submit bugs. I got a nice email back that said "go use the forums," so here I am. Does anybody here have similar experience with notes moving by themselves to "My Notebook" or their default notebook? Is this a known problem, hopefully with a simple solution? Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
  4. Greetings! I forward emails to my Evernote. This is the majority of info that I store in Evernote. I created a notebook, named it "New" and made it the default thinking that everything that I emailed into Evernote would go there first and I could sort it all out later and move notes into the appropriate notebooks. It worked for a little while but then Evernote started started to put emailed notes wherever it wanted to which was usually in the wrong place. Now I have to go into the subject of each email and add "@New" to make sure it gets into the "New" folder which is a pain and eats time. Is Evernote somehow looking at the content of the emails and trying to decide the most appropriate notebook to send the email to? It's not working!!! What is the point of having a default notebook if Evernote disregards it?
  5. Hello to all out there, I'm using Evernote Windows client and iOS client. I try to figure out how I can get the most out of evernote's reminder emails. a ) Perhaps I have missed it, but is there view of "all notes with reminders", "all notes with open reminders" or "all reminder emails"?? I am missing that feature, especially in the Windows client. b ) Emails without notebook-specific headlines and even the reminder emails send by Evernote itself are not always imported into the "default" notebook, where nearly all emails are imported into. I sometimes find Evernote's reminders in different notebooks where "related" or "similar" content is hosted ... and therefore miss them :-( So, how do I get better control of my reminders? How can I stop missing those reminders? Thanks in advance, Juergen from Kiel (northern Germany)
