I've just switched from a PC to a Mac and find myself searching for the Increase/Decrease Indent buttons that I am accustomed to on my PC. I have found that there are keyboard shortcuts for this function; however, I firmly believe the buttons should be added to the tools at the top of each note, near the font, formatting, align left, etc. buttons that are already there, the way they are on the PC. I can find a button much easier than I can go "Format>Text>Increase Indent" and much easier than I can memorize yet another keyboard shortcut. Ironically, the buttons I am requesting are showing above, in this very box I am typing my request in - but not on my MacBook. I hope you will consider adding them to the Mac version of Evernote in an update very soon! Alternatively, the ability to drag and customize the toolbar would be wonderful!
I just got started with Evernote and am really struggling with both how boring it looks and how much more difficult the blah interface makes it to use. Am I missing something? I've looked everywhere for ways to customize the colors on my screen or be able to add personal aspects, or to be able to organize things using color cues that match my memory and thoughts about how I group different aspects of my life. I have been using Trello, but wanted to change to Evernote because it seemed more flexible. However, I just don't know if I can live in this gray world, and I don't know how anyone can remember or find things only using word tags without any kind of color organization. All of my Trello boards were different colors, and I found a way to add photos to each list I made so that the photos looked like headers and stayed visible at the top of each list to keep my page vibrant and also to provide me with instant visual cues of what to click on, where to add things, where to see things. Don't get me wrong -- I'm a writer and editor, and text is fantastic. But I'm also in my fifties and getting a little visually challenged, not into gray/black/white, and definitely into things that look sparkling and alive. If something is going to take up real estate on my screen, it needs to look warm and inviting and pleasing and colorful and fantastic. I keep watching tutorials and reading tips and thinking -- where is that button I push to give me some....teal? Please let me know if I am missing the obvious -- I'm crossing my fingers!
I want to customize the notification center widget. For example, I want a quick link to a new sketch or to remove new chat and list. Evernote, at least just put a new sketch widget!
I would love the option to re-map a button on my phone that would allow me to simply hold it down to capture my voice data. For instance, as long as the app is running on my phone, I could just hold down the volume button and speak to crate a new voice note. No need to "wake up"the phone and tap the voice note button on the screen. I work in law enforcement and make dozens of voice notes every day. I have to pull over and park the car before I can create a note. This is obviously a problem if I'm following a car or responding to a call (the job takes presidence so I miss many of the voice notes I would like to make got my end of shift paperwork). If I could simply hold down my volume key and speak, I wouldn't need to stop each time. Thank you, Jbpowers
