Hello, I love the code block feature that was added. However, I think it has some down falls. Mostly, I think it is lacking in text formatting. An amazing feature would be for Evernote to recognize some popular coding languages and be able to color code variables and other identifiers. At the very least, I wish the code block kept my formatting when I copied and paste from a text editor. I often copy and paste code from SQL management Studio hoping for the color coding to stay, which it does not. If I copy into a normal section, it is fine but, the code block removes the color formatting. (I have tried pasting with match style, does not work). I think this would make Evernote more robust and be able to reach a larger audience. Mainly, extend reach to developers who would like a place to effectively store their code for reuse. Thank you for taking the time to consider this idea!
I often use Evernote to keep track of things I read on websites. Often though, copying and pasting from a site creates formatting issues that won't go away by selecting Simplify Formatting from the Format menu. For example, I pasted the Contents from a YouTube page (first image) into my document and found that every thing was double or triple spaced. There are no detectable line returns to remove and when I choose Simplify Formatting (second image), the text simply gets larger. If I try to then reduce the font size, I end up back where I started with the big gaps. I don't want to convert to plain text because that will happen across the entire document and I lose all the formatting I've done and links I've inserted elsewhere as well as the links that came with this paste. This and similar formatting issues happen all the time for me in Evernote. Am I missing something? Martin Mac OS 10.11.6, Evernote Version 6.13.3 (455969 Direct)
Hi everyone. I am a big fan of Evernote and depend on it for my every day life. With the heavy usage, there are features that I would like changed for a more effective performance. When using the copy and paste feature on Evernote (Android), Evernote limits selection when bullets and numbers are involved. I do not see the point in doing so and I know that the application on windows does not have this limitation. So if I wanted to copy all of the words in the example above. I would first have to select "example:" copy and paste it into wherever. Then Select "I work with bullet points a lot." Then copy and paste it into wherever Then Select "When I try to copy and paste the bullet points" then copy and paste it wherever Then Select "I am only able to select one bullet point content at a time" then copy and paste it wherever. Process is the same if I want to bold everything or highlight, etc. In other words, it takes a process that should take 5 seconds into something that can take 5-10 min depending on how much content and bullet (or number) points I want to select. By the way. If you remove the bullets, you still CANT select everything at once. The app believes that the bullet is still there and will not let you select all of the content at one time. Please FIX!
Skitch version 2.7.2 OSX 10.9.3 Reproduction steps: Grab an image from the Screen into Skitch Use the Copy Image under the Edit Menu Paste the Image into an empty gmail (web app under firefox) Send the email to someone else whether they use GMail or not they all complain that what was sent was a string of bytes not a pictureI've since reproduced this problem using both PostBox and AirMail - Mac email clients - so its not a gmail webapp bug. If you want an example I will happily send someone at evernote an email containing just a picture I copy and paste from Evernote. Clearly its tough to tell if this is an Skitch bug or a Gmail bug.
