  1. I read the other posts on this topic, but I am still having trouble. I just need to understand how the syncing works, because it doesn't seem to be working for me, or I am just not understanding a timing thing. Here is what occured: I created a list on evernote on my laptop. About an hour later, I added some items to the list. I hit the sync button. I left the house, went to the store, and opened Evernote on my cell phone. I noticed that the added items weren't on my note - only the original list. Fast forward to today: I opened my laptop Evernote, and that is where I saw my added list items, but they were located under the heading of "Conflicting Modification" for two different times. Since I hit the "sync" button before I opened the app on my cell phone, I should not have gotten this conflict. Any advice??
  2. I've had this for a couple weeks now; I think it's since iOS8 (iPhone 5S). Anyone else had this, or know a solution? Nearly every time I open the app, the error in the photo shows. I click "Try again" and the box disappears but nothing happens; then I click the sync button (the round one) and it syncs perfectly. I wonder if it's an issue with background refresh or location services? I've tried turning them on and off, and reinstalling the app, but no difference. Internet connection is always fine. Similarly, I get a lot of "Conflicting modification ..." in my notes now, even though there is no difference between the original and the "conflicting" one.
  3. "Conflicting Changes" are piling up because I don't have the time to go thru them, especially while on my phone. I can't find the differences. When going into and out of wi-fi or cell coverage and USING my evernote, there can be overlapping changes, and I don't know which is current because I can't SEE the old and the new. This causes me to NOT make entries in Evernote, for fear of adding ANOTHER conflict, that must then be perused. And I have too many already (needing examination). There needs to be a screen where I can evaluate the conflicts. It could be a window that simply shows the two files side-by-side where I can choose one. Maybe in later incarnations, a smarter window that highlights the differences. In some cases I have to decide between 3 changes. And this window needs a "delete this conflict" BUTTON.
  4. I currently use my first generation iPad (running iOS 5.1.1) as my work tablet. Primarily, I use my Windows 7 pc for Evernote, but I use my iPad at meetings or when I am out of the office. I use the free version of Evernote. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My question may be related to using an outdated version of Evernote on my iPad, but I would like an alternative to having note conflicts appended to the bottom of the relevant message. Specifically and ideally, I would like to see: A new note created labelled "CONFLICT,"A warning message stating that the conflicting note is open on another device with the option to choose which note(s) should be retained,The ability to do a complete merge of the conflicting data, thereby retaining all new and deleted data, or (most ideally)A line-by-line comparison of the conflicts with the ability to choose what to keep and what to discard.Looking at the most recent version of Evernote, I do not see any comparable options related to syncing. Do such options/features exist?
  5. What is your best 3rd party program (preferably freeware) to tackle long notes that have conflicts where using ones own eyes is just not reasonable I have found WinMerge http://winmerge.org but I haven't tried it yet What are other people using and what is your Best Practice steps (I know this was discussed someplace else but I can't find it )
  6. A conflicting files resolution utility would include two items: Visible line-by-line comparison of the two synced files, showing differences. (This is usually, at least in my case, at most two or three items/file lines.) This would allow the file owner quickly to copy/paste in order to resolve conflicts. Perhaps even there could be an option to select one version of the file over the other. Then, the option to save, system- and Evernote-wide, the selected/constructed version of the file. *If* (as is likely) the "Conflicting-file-[date-time]" folder exists, and the conflict has been resolved, then *automatically* delete the folder and its contained file!Such a feature would avoid much grief for me and, I suspect, for many other "conflicting file" creators!
  7. I've been getting a lot of strange "Conflicting modification" duplication of my notes. Do I really need to manually press sync whenever I am done typing anything on a particular note? Also, which one is the most recent, the conflicting modification or the note above it? And what are the consequences of deleting the conflicting modification (will it just create another one on another device?).
