  1. Hey guys ! So, I wanted to know : how can I make most efficient use of my 60 mb upload limit when using web and pc client ? Is there any point in using web client if I have the pc one ? What sync settings would be the most optimal to reduce my upload limit ? Maybe some general tips on how to avoid exceeding upload limit ?
  2. Hi and greetings to all, if there was a wish list I'd like to add the plea for creating and modifying personal keyboard shortcuts for a lot more functionality than those currently few for general operations. I like my keyboard and I have to use this artificial finger limb (aka "mouse") quite more often in Evernote than I like to, e. g. to copy a note link which I use all the time. Or is there a solution already I simply don't know about? Thanks for any clues and hints and have a great time!
  3. The indentation arrows for increase/decrease indent are not in the same order in the Windows Client and the webinterface. If you use both, this causes you to frequently select the wrong one. A very simple request: Could you change these to be consistent. My preference would be decrease indent on the left, increase indent on the right. This is the way they're set up on the Windows client. Cheers, Remco.
  4. Hi, I have a feature request to be able to add an email list to send a note or list to when created. This way when a user creates a note they can add a list of emails to send the note to when they are ready to send the note. You can import/link individual or all contacts into Evernote from Google or Microsoft Live or any of the other services that come to mind that keep contacts in their services. Then a user can choose which emails from the list of contacts to send the note or list too. I believe this will enhance the user experience and will broaden the scope and marketing of Evernote by giving all the recipients of the note or list an option within the email to subscribe to Evernote. It doesn't need to just be a feature for paid users only, either, because Evernote will be improving their marketing because all recipients will have a link to purchase a subscription or sign up to Evernote.
  5. I used to be a premium member for several years but I forgot that my payment solution for renewal had expired. So I accidentally ended up with the free plan and here is why I am staying with it. I realize that my reason for it has been mentioned before (quite often indeed) but I am conceptually puzzled - and not just practically frustrated - by Evernote at this point. What I do understand is that we are encouraged to upgrade to premium so that as opposed to 60MB we could store several GBs of data. That makes perfect sense in an increasingly paperless world. What I do not understand is how we can manage the data effectively without massive hard drive. I am a university professor and use (used) Evernote for research. But with each new work laptop that is thinner, there is less hard drive room. I simply cannot download all of my data on the computer. There is no room for that. But it is not feasible to write my articles and books with the web-interface. It's just not efficient enough and I waste too much time waiting for the response and scrolling. On the desktop app, that works but I can no longer install the desktop app. I don't understand how I would upload nearly 10GB of data monthly if I cannot use it selectively. In a nutshell: the lack of selective sync for devices is not just "oh wouldn't be nicer" type of wish. It is crucial for actual research. I genuinely do not understand the conceptual vision anymore. If I am looking for a receipt, a bookmark, or just an occasional file, the web interface would do. Dealing with several hundred footnotes and over a thousand references in the bibliography, Evernote cannot be my tool of choice. Are we expected to pencil in on the calendar that, on the day we renew our plan, we should also buy a new hard drive to keep up? I'll keep an eye on the changes and the moment Evernote implements selective sync. The moment I am able to download one notebook that I am working on and not the entire account on my laptop, I will pay the highest premium for it on the spot.
  6. Sorry for possibly overlooking the obvious, but how can you verify that you are running an EN client (i.e., desktop version) as opposed to the web version? Thanks.
  7. I want to know how syncing takes place in evernote. I am creating app with that syncs data to evernote account. What are the ways to update my app data when changes on evernote web is performed. Does evernote provide any notification mechanism?
  8. Is it possible to refer to your notes, while also make a new audio note? For example, I'm sitting in class taking an audio note of a current lecture, but want to look back at a previous lecture note while not stopping the current note I am taking. If this is discussed elsewhere, please point me in that direction. Thank you.
  9. Hye, Before, when using the webversion, when starting a line with a tick box, hitting enter gave me another line with a tick box at the beginning, why this has been removed from the current beta web version?! Thanks
  10. Clever is a third party Evernote client for iPhone and it blows me away how well developed and full featured this app is. It has more features than official Evernote clients on ios, you can copy note links, copy notes, use browsing history, use URL schemes to integrate this app with other app and so on. I'm newbie at making video reviews and English isn't my native language but hopefully it's easy to understand. what do you think about the app? Have you tried it? I find it really awesome, would love to see an iPad version. I really like to see more great stuff like this to come out.
  11. There is a new toy waiting to go to the Evernote toy trunk called Metanota for Mac OSX (well almost but not entirely). Being excited like a small kid, my eyes sparkling when I see anything glittery with green elephant on it, I mindlessly shelled out money for the full version of Metanota and thinking I am getting a second client on OSX. Well, hold the horses little boy, it's not going to do much at this point of time. It's just synching pure text notes. So if you have PDFs in the notes, you won't see the notes. If you have formatting in the notes, you are going to LOSE formatting the moment you try to edit the rich text note created in Evernote client. http://www.metanota.com/ Nice try but not there yet.
  12. Gmail has a nifty shortcut for creating bulleted lists that I find myself using all the time: CMD+Shift+8. You can use the same command but with 7 to create a numbered list, and other formatting options such as quotes by other numbers. I find myself hitting CMD+Shift+8 nearly every day in Evernote as most notes I write have a bulleted list in there somewhere. It'd be awesome if there could be some shortcut parity with this Gmail compose function.
  13. Hey Guys On latest Evernote Windows Client 5.3.0.3360 (271360) Created lots of notebooks and rearranged notes on Windows Client. Now it is not showing in web or other clients Looking at activity log.. I have lots of errors like Pretty much for all the notebooks I created - by right clicking on the notebook and clicking "Create notebook in ...." Checking properties of the notebook says it is a "Synchronized Notebook" but still not sinking due to error mentioned above How do I clear this error and force sync it so that it starts showing on web / other devices Cheers
  14. Hi, I have noticed the following problem: I have downloaded some PDF files on my Work laptop (Windows) and added them to my Evernote account. With the Evernote App on my iPhone or iPad I can review those file without any issue, however when I want to see them in my Evernote client (5.5.1) on my Macbook Pro (running OS X 10.9.2) it seems that only header data is being displayed and the actually content is blank. Attached is a print screen. The same is displayed when I download the file to the desktop. Any help is much appreciated. Many thanks. M.
  15. Hi: I just upgraded to Premium and haven't used Evernote in over a year - I really need to get into Evernote. On a Mac, using Safari, I immediately see some differences between the client and web application - the app on the iPhone is another matter. Which do you prefer and why - web or client? I know this is a super-gereral question, but I would appreciate the thoughts and observations of seasoned vets. If you can point me to video or other links that address this issues, I'd be grateful. Thank you for your time and patience. Me
  16. I'm sure this will probably already have been suggested, but I'll post this anyway. For a while now I've been using the feature that allows you to send email direct into Evernote. in fact I've built up an entire stack of these emails. But a thought occurred to me, wouldn't it be great Evernote had a built in email client. This would allow you to send/receive emails directly from within Evernote and would eliminate the need to email specific messages into Evernote. You could simply just hit, add to stack. Just thought I'd put it out there. Gary
  17. Hi, I nearly lost two attachments because of this. If you select multiple attachments and try to copy them to another note, only one gets copied. In case you cut them, the others are gone. Do you also experience such behaviour? Thanks for your information!
  18. Hi, I have some serious speed issues with 5.0.5 (and also with 5.0.6 beta2). I don't have that much notes in my database yet but it is sluggy like hell. Is this a normal behavior for this version? Some issues are: Deleting a note with backspace takes seconds, and sometimes it even deletes 2 notes, cause it has read the key a second time or so.Switching between notes takes sometimes seconds too. And these notes are not that complex or large. Just text and nothing else.Switching notebooks also takes a lot of time.I am using a current MacBook Air. Speed of the computer is no problem. Any ideas? Help? Best regards, Oliver
  19. Hi, I have a notebook shared with me (free account) from a Premium account that I can view all the notes of through the web UI but not through the desktop client. Under 'View Settings' on the desktop client (Version 3.0.6 (221382)) it shows that I can only view notes for the notebook but I have been given edit notes permission for the notebook. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
  20. I would like to request the feature that the account owner receives an email if a new client signs in with the credentials. This would give some security as I would know when someone uses my data. It should be a choice whether the information is sent too when someone uses the web frontend.
