  1. Will Evernote reintroduce Clearly? I teach high school English and I am also Technology Chairperson for the school. Many of my colleagues would like to have Clearly available on their desktops. Any feedback is appreciated.
  2. Hi - I have not been able to find Clearly for us millions of Evernote Android users - Any chance it could be developed? Pretty please! Thanks NeverSurrender
  3. Is the Web Clipper supposed to work when viewing a page with the Clearly extension? I tried highlighting some text and right clicking to clip the selected text to EN but the Web Clipper wasn't in the context menu.
  4. Hi, Just wanted to make a feature suggestion. One of my primary uses of Clearly was to simplify articles/web pages, clip them, and print them directly from the Clearly dialog. Can you please work this back into Evernote Web Clipper? It was so easy to simplify an article and print it directly. Thanks!
  5. Evernote Clearly was (still is) a great tool. It's too bad it's going away, but I'm glad that Web Clipper has inherited the simplified page view capabilities. Here's a suggestion for a minor change that would make simplified page view in Web Clipper almost as useful as Clearly: Make it easy to minimize the Web Clipper dialog box to get it out of the way of reading the simplified page view. As it currently works, the Web Clipper dialog obscures part of the simplified page and there's no way to get rid it of while retaining the simplified page view. Thanks!
  6. As we know Clearly is no longer supported and is suggested to be replaced by Web Clipper. But I've found Web Clipper does not provide the same uniform formatting funtionality like Clearly does. Many webpages were clipped with backgound colour enable, which is undesirable. I am aware of the "simplify formatting" funtionality, but it also takes away all the text formatting, which I want to keep. The Web Clipper just doesn't provide the kind of uniform formatting feature like with Clearly.
  7. I would like to have a switch in the sharing extension for iOS that allows me to not only save a full web page but optionally the cleaned up version of that page instead. Just like the way you can save only the content of an article in the Mac browser extensions and not the litter (mostly ads or comments).
  8. I would like to recommend that you add Clearly reading functionality to the desktop app. Clearly makes reading a note at the point of capture a great experience. However, if I ever want to go back to that note in my desktop app later, I cannot leverage the distraction free nature of it and the easy font adjustments. Evernote does a great job of grabbing stuff and finding it later, but reading it later suffers.
  9. Chrome45でWeb Clipper/Clearlyを起動すると他のタブでもWeb Clipper/Clearlyが起動し、影響があります。 現在、Windows7 と ChromeOS45 で同様の現象が発生しています。
  10. I have been trying to clip a page using Clearly or the simplified article view in clipper. My problem is that the entire page is not shown. I have to go to regular article clipping and extend my clipping area in order to get everything. So in essence, I can't read the entire page using Clearly nor clip all of it as a simplified article. Also all pictures did not attach as they should. Is there a way to extend the area that clipper and/or clearly selects in order to get everything from a page? The page I was struggling with was: http://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-NPV Cheers,
  11. Shortly before I upgraded to Firefox 28.0 I noticed that my Web Clipper icon was no longer in my toolbar. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the add-on and it still has not appeared. I then installed for the first time Evernote Clearly and the Clearly icon appears in the toolbar. Are there any known issues between 27 and 28 with Web Clipper?
  12. Hi Gang- Trying to clip a number of full articles, one at a time, from medium.com website (actually creative writing piece of mine), the first is imported properly to Evernote. Subsequent ones bring in graphics from the original clip or keep reverting back to the first one even though I am on a completely different page with a unique URL. Using Ubuntu 14.04 and the latest Chrome 43.0.2357.81. Both clipping apps/widgets would see useless under this behavior. TIA, Vince
  13. I'm finding that Evernote Clipper and Clearly will not work on certain websites when used with Opera 26 browser, (though they do with IE for example). Clipper used to work for these sites but now doesn't. Can't seem to find anything on either forum about this. Is it an Opera problem or an Evernote problem (Evernote was updated more recently) or a my computer problem? For example have I done something with site preferences to stop it working? This problem remains even if 'print' used or selection made. Thanks for any suggestions.
  14. I'm a longterm user of EN, and as I use more and more my iPad and Iphone I miss the simplicity of using Evernote Clearly as a Browser plugin to clip only an article's content and place it in my notebook of choice. On the IOS process you end up getting the whole page almost as html screengrab. Surely EN could do better. It is ironic because the Reuters Article I want coming from their app doesn't have anything I'd remove, but when this artcle is shared through Evernote I get the a whole webpage from the Reuter's website with all the garbage. Yes, I could copy the text, most of it anyway and then save and import the photo and title manually to EN, but this only shows the weakness of my usual process when on a Tablet or iphone. Can we have that IOS share with Evernote process send the Article to a cloud based Clearly process so it ends up in my Notebook no differently than if I did it in a browser? Thanks
  15. I use cleanPages in opera 11 to enhance my reading experiences. But it lacks the function to send the processed page to evernote. I notice that evernote has Clearly for Chrome and FF. Will there be an opera version? Or anyone can recommend a similar opera extension with send to evernote function?
  16. The Evernote community should ring in on features that could improve the reading experience for articles, reports, and other long reads. I use Evernote to save articles, especially long articles, that I want to read later. So when I am in transit, going to bed, or just in the mood for a good read, I can find the articles that I saved for later reading. The offline notebooks included in the Premium account was one of the main features that convinced me to subscribe. I usually use Clearly or Web Clipper to save articles to my "Unread" notebook, and then I switch them to "Read" or another notebook after I've finished reading. There are a few small changes that I would suggest to improve the reading experience, especially on mobile devices: Night Mode: I'd love the opportunity to switch to reading on a dark background. Bookmarks: It's often difficult for me to pick up where I left off. I would use a quick bookmark feature a lot. Read/Unread?: Using notebooks for read and unread has worked well for me. One could also use tags. Is there another way to flag a note as read/unread? Should there be? That's all. I'd love to hear from other people about how they use Evernote for reading and also give suggestions for improvements. * Thank you to the developers for the great work that you all do. I love love love Evernote.
  17. 1st, I wonder if Evernote is the right tool of the trade at all. Or what other apps can do this for me for free? Instapaper is almost perfect except it allows only 5 highlights a month(!!!) for free users. That will not cut it for me. I downloaded the Web Clipper and the Clearly add-ons to my browser but frankly, it is not intuitive how I should proceed. The ultimate goal is to read on mobile devices, Android and iOS, but I guess it should work first on the desktop/in the web equally. Finally, hello everyone!
  18. I'm addicted to the adjustable display options that comes with the clearly extension (for chrome). I use it all the time to relax my eyes, make highlights, and save pages to EN desktop. But (tell me if this is right because it seems weird to me) when I open a clipped webpage from within EN desktop, I have more annotation options (which are less crucial to me) but no text display options (like the adjustable "themes" in Clearly). Is that correct? It seems like I should have access to all the Clearly functions when I'm reading a clipped page within EN desktop, right? Am I just not seeing how to do it?
  19. Good Morning, When I clip an article with an embedded youtube video (either directly via clipper or through the clipper in clearly) any youtube videos in the article are skipped and do not show up in Evernote. It would be nice to have a screen capture with a link. Is there a setting I can change or am I doing something wrong? For example, http://www.t-nation.com/training/reflexive-strength-and-spider-man Thank you, Philip
  20. I use Evernote Premium on a Windows PC, in Google Chrome, on iPad and Android cellphone. Most often I use the client version on my Windows PC for its speed and search capabilities. My Evernote database contains thousands of web clips. In recent iterations of the software, web clips mostly display in tiny, really miniscule text size occupying no more than one-quarter of the width of my widescreen monitor. Adjusting text size within the note is not really useful, as I can't expand the screen width of the clip or adjust the leading between lines of type. If I try to size-up, I wind-up with equally illegible, overlapping type confined in the clip's frame, the width of which I cannot adjust. I use Windows Magnifier as a kludge, but it's a 'follow the cursor' tool that requires constant repositioning. I use Evernote a LOT. I don't like having to make a couple dozen screen moves with Windows Magnifier to read a single note, especially when I may want to consult 10 or 20 notes on one visit to the Windows client. Adobe Acrobat has a drop-down menu always visible on screen that adjusts display by percentage. Google Chrome has the same feature in its drop-down Settings menu. I realize that Acrobat is managing display within its own software and format rules. Evernote is displaying imported HTML clips as well as the PDF that Acrobat displays. If that's a problem for Evernote developers, have they explored the type of slider control that is often used to instantly adjust display of, for example, JPGs in photo editing software, resizing the entire graphic object? Often the most legible version of a web clip that I ever see is the CLEARLY version in my Google Chrome web browser--because CLEARLY was purpose-built to be a LEGIBILITY tool as well as an upgrade to Evernote's older web clipper. It uses the full width of the screen, which the desktop Evernote client emphatically does not. A fast and easy means to adjust text for legibility would be a MAJOR enhancement of Evernote, IMHO. I confess that I find it really annoying to see note after note defaulting to a display that leaves the righthand 3/4 of screen empty--and the web clip almost illegibly small. Many news media have used advances in HTML and content management systems to make their content MUCH easier to view in the last year, eg, Guardian UK, NYTimes. I realize desktop client software is a different animal than web software--but 'responsive design' UI/UX principles are in fact very similar in terms of using screen real estate well. Thanks for your consideration.
  21. One of the best and biggest chords and tabs webpage out there is http://www.cifraclub.com.br/ They have chords for guitar, piano and many other instruments, as well as one of the most up-to-date and high quality tab collections out there. But it is not compatible with Evernote. The web clipper clips "to much" of the webpage, the extension "Clearly" takes out all the tabbing code and the chord images at the end of the page. Imagine the possibilities: Every musician would love to save his favorite chords/lyrics into evernoteEvery musician would love to have offline access to that content (more PREMIUM USERS!!)Cifraclub is the perfect page for users to do this (standard formating, high quality, etc)But, there is no easy/fast way to save all this content into evernote. Give this post a +1 if you think evernote should work together with Cifraclub to make my dream come true! PS: Cifraclub already has a "print view" of chords that could be used for that if it was changed just a bit. Example print view: http://www.cifraclub.com.br/maroon-5/this-love/imprimir.html
  22. This is a demonstration of frustration attempting to delete a bold title. As you can see, I would like to delete the bold title in article whilst keeping the rest part's formatting, but I just can't. The height of first line won't change to fit font size I set. I guess Evernote should consider adding line spacing adjustment.
  23. I think this topic has been covered by many and I'm not aware of it being solved in Evernote yet. Firstly I think Evernote is world class (genius and a great addition to my life) and clearly is a great part of it being so. Now having said that I want more. My wish is having captured from the web using clearly I can then read it in the same format in Evernote. I keep reading the answer is on it's way but I think I'm correct in saying it hasn't arrived yet. I only write this as for window users I would like to offer up a temporary solution (I apologize to those who believe its a too obvious one) First go to start and type in magnifier then right click on magnifier and left click on pin to taskbar. This done you can click on magnifer on your taskbar and read whatever page you have open at a zoom level and when you want to revert back to normal you just press the windows key and escape on your keyboard. Not total satisfaction I know but I believe it is an improvement on what I had. As I say I apologise if I have this wrong but I would be interested in any method of getting the desired result or if indeed Evernote already has the solution and I've missed it. thanks.
  24. How are you using Evernote clearly for research? How does related notes save you time when doing a research project? We recently added the ability to highlight using Evernote clearly, read about it here: http://blog.evernote...nd-highlighter/
