  1. Using EN on a Chromebook, I need to use my fingers to scroll. Would be nice to have scrolling support on the track pad or mouse. Better mouse support in general would be great, too. (it's a little flakey)
  2. Using the Android version of Evernote, I can't click and open attached PDFs. The PDF shows as an attachment in the note, but does not interact to clicks with the mouse or touches with the touch screen. This is on a Samsung Chromebook Pro I know I can use the Web version, but I really don't want to because I would like offline support and really need ink annotation of PDFs, which isn't well supported in the Web version.
  3. Hello. I started using a chromebook last week, and I downloaded the evernote in its playstore. The problem is,the note links within evernote doesn't work in the chromebook. I click but nothing happens. I know I can still use the evrernote in the web,and there the notes links works. But I prefer a lot to use the evernote in the android version, not the web. Can anyone please help me?
  4. I can't remember if I've ever been able to do this but there is a bug in the chromebook app where there is no way to decrypt encrypted text. I have double clicked on the block, I have clicked and held and I have tried alt+click but nothing happens.
  5. I don't know if this is the appropriate forum to write this as I do not see a Chromebook specific forum. If it needs to be posted somewhere else please feel free to move it or let me know so I can post there instead. A few problems that I see so far about using it on a Chromebook: There does not seem to be a print option. Unlike an android device a Chromebook is tended to be used more like a laptop for writing, data entry, etc. This makes it problematic for use as a document creator. To print I then have to take it out of Evernote and into GoogleDocs. PDF viewing is kind of clunky. Would like to be able to preview the PDF when I click on that note instead of having to open the note, then click the pdf and have it take up the entire screen. Some sort of embedding would be very handy. The editor seems to have some serious issues, especially when using lists/bullets. An up arrow will often move you many lines up instead of just up one line. Using any sort of keyboard shortcut (ctrl +alt + up arrow [home]) doesn't seem to function whatsoever. Selecting anything in the editor also seems to work strangely. If one holds down the shift key and then clicks the mouse in a new place, it does not select any text but simply moves the cursor to the new location. There does not seem to be a way to nest lists/bullets within each other. If you click one it changes them all. There also does not seem to be a way to enter a line return during a list item. You either have to create a faux list in order to have multiple paragraphs/lines in each item or you have to simply keep all list items on one single line. The built in spell checker for google does not seem to carry over into the Evernote app window. I am very happy with the concept of evernote on my Chromebook which I use for travel, studies, writing etc. It just needs some development time to be something I would use if I only had a chromebook. As it stands, I find having to add in other programs to do routine tasks or even moving to my Windows machine just to print/format/type to be quite annoying. Thanks in advance and look forward to seeing it continue to improve.
  6. Would be awesome if we could add rows and columns to tables. I switched over to a Chromebook so, I'm using Evernote mobile and Evernote web. Both have the same issue. A few have suggested using google spreadsheet, or copying and pasting multiple tables, or adding a few extra rows. Some of these work, but have it's limitations. For example, if you run out of extra rows. Or if you have a chromebook, you can't use any of the workarounds without a computer without the use of google spreadsheets. Screenshot example attached.
  7. Hi there, I'm running Evernote android on my Chromebook Plus and I've noticed that even when I have the app expanded I'm not able to edit my notes unless I hit that obnoxious "edit" button, is there a way to negate that? And then, when I do hit edit, I'm not able to view my full app layout, it's just a giant version of my note alone. I can select "exit full screen" or some such verbiage but then I'm back to my first problem - I have to hit edit to type! I'm hoping there's an actual solution to this so I can keep using Evernote because beside this it's quite my favorite. Thank you so much.
  8. Pretty much what the title says. I installed Evernote on my Acer Chromebook a while back, and probably don't use it as much as I should. When I went to open the app today, I couldn't find it on the computer. The Play store says it is installed, but as far as I can tell, it isn't. Anyone experience anything similar, or have any advice?
  9. Hello, I spent about three hours this morning preparing solutions to a homework using Evernote on my chromebook. When I finished the note, I tried to share it with another person. A message popped up saying that the person may not have access to the note. After that, when I tried opening the file, Evernote threw a message saying the file was unavailable for opening. I tried opening the file several times and each time, the same message (that the file was not available) popped up. Then, I tried syncing the files. Post-sync, the file disappeared altogether from the list of notes. Interestingly, the sync icon has been spinning for the last 3-4 hours. I checked evernote web interface for this file but couldn't locate it there either. Is there a way I can recover this file? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  10. Our municipality/township is about to decide the what all our schools should use: PC or Chromebooks. The main argument for choosing PC and O365 is OneNote. I’ve not used either OneNote or Evernote, but to me it looks like Evernote is far behind OneNote in many areas. Like for instance organizing your stuff colorcoded and OCR-extracting. I was so happy about the announcement of Google Drive integration, but I can’t find the Evernote App in the Chromebook store so now I’m disappointed. And then I read this thread and became discouraged: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/66103-alternatives-to-en-discussion What are your experience with using OneNote and Evernote in K-12?
  11. Now that it is possible to run Android apps on Chromebook devices - such as the just released Samsung Chromebook Plus (and the upcoming Samsung Chromebook Pro) I'd like to see Evernote optimized to run better in this environment. Specifically I'd like to see integration of Google's server-side algorithm that makes taking handwritten notes with a stylus much smoother on Chromebooks. Google Keep is using this API and it is a very smooth writing experience. However, in Evernote's app this feature has not yet been integrated and the handwriting experience is very slow and laggy. It would also be great if the text sizing and app elements were better optimized for larger screens.
  12. Hi, I've been using evernote on mac from a long time but now that i've moved on to a chromebook i am unable to edit any of my encrypted notes on the web. Is there a way around for this? or is it just plain simple ignorance to the web version?
  13. I need Evernote App on our Chromebook. But the link in this blog post is dead: https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2014/09/13/evernote-android-now-chromebook/ And in the https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/apps all I can find is Evernote Web and Evernote Web Clipper. Is it removed because of manye problems?
  14. I'm using a Chromebook Pixel and have downloaded the "Evernote" app (which is different from "Evernote Web" app which is just shortcut to Evernote website). I'm not sure which subforum to post my questions on since there is no forum for Chrome OS / chromebooks. The app window opens to be about 1/4 of my screen. Clicking on the topbar doesn't do anything. Hovering over sides of window don't give any options to resize. Looking through the settings, I can't see anything that allows changing the size of the window. Using keyboard shortcut to maximize window does nothing. Is there any way to change window size - preferable to maximize? I've tried using the app for 5 minutes and another issue I noticed is trying to select text. Even though I'm using a laptop (aka have keyboard, mouse, etc), it's seems to be treating it like a tablet/phone. The only way to select text is my double clicking on word and then having to click to move the little blue notches to startpoint and endpoint. Since this is a computer, I want to be able to use it like a computer. Furthermore, the only thing that can be done to selected text is copy/paste - there is no way to bold, italics or change color of text. I'd love to use the Chromebook app instead of the website - the layout is better & for offline purposes. However, with these issues, the app gets annoying pretty quick. Are there some setting or something I've overlooked? I saw the blog post from half a year ago, so Evernote says they support Chromebooks ... are there any plans to fix these issues (which from what I can tell have been around since the time the app has been around)? Or is the solution not to use Chromebooks? Thanks!
  15. Evernote has become my second brain, and I rely on it daily to manage my GTD system. I love the desktop app for Mac OS; the keyboard shortcuts are very well thought-out and it makes it very quick to manage hundreds of notes. I've recently switched much of my work over to a Chromebook, and it's been really disappointing to try and use the Evernote Chrome Web app. It's clearly just a port of the Android software. I know there's been a couple feature requests so far for better Chrome support, but I just wanted to voice my support here again. Chrome OS is very much a growing platform and I hope that Evernote starts to take it seriously. As a second note, I would love to see keyboard shortcuts make their way to the web version of Evernote. I love the web app's minimalist interface. It's great for writing in a clean environment, but it's a pain to manage notes. Being able to select multiple notes and use keyboard shortcuts to tag them or move them between notebooks would make the web app so much more efficient. I hope these features are coming soon! If Evernote is already working on any of these, I hope someone can let us know here on the forums to put my mind at ease.
  16. I have been trying the web beta on and off on my Chromebook. I really want to like it, but I can't. Whenever I open the web beta (by directly logging in the the website or using the Chrome Web Store app shortcut) it takes ages to show the web application. I have over 5500 notes in my account, varying from clipped web pages to PDF's and actual notes. I have already tried clearing the cache, removing cookies, rebooting the device etc. but nothing seems to improve speeding up the load. This way it becomes unusable. I would like Evernote to become ubiquious, but this way that will never succeed.
  17. Hello, I currently run Evernote on my Chromebook and my Android phone. I've been trying to find a way to either export a note directly to Dropbox, or to download it so that I can upload it to Dropbox. It's my understanding that this can be accomplished on a Windows or Mac. Has anyone found a way to download from a Chromebook? When I try (regardless of what format I save the note in), it always says the downloaded file is corrupted. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
  18. We are extremely interested in the prospect of the full-screen presentation mode for Evernote. The area of current interest would be the ability to use this within your web app on a chrome book. For us, just as with the OS X version, we'd be perfectly willing to pay for this function. The main use for us would be to replace PowerPoint for many of our presentations. It is the combination of the cheapness of a chrome book, with its lightness that is driving this desire. In addition, within my professional capacity at a university, we would be interested in this feature for lecturers and students, again for the above reasons. Please advise whether this is on your development roadmap.
