  1. Hi, I'm using evernote since some years with my Canon P-215. This works fine, the only thing annoying me is this stupid software CaptureOnTouch Canon provides. It shows confirmation dialogs and doesn't let me scan multiple scanprocesses and the scanners buttonpresses aren't recognized every time. So I wonder, do you have any ideas for a better software to scan directly into evernote using Windows? Greetings Torsten
  2. I am looking for a guide to setting up Evernote and my Canon MX410 printer / scanner so that I can scan documents directly into Evernote. This will be for a Windows 8 environment. Any help will be appreciated.
  3. I purchased a Canon P-150 scanner that came bundled with CaptureOnTouch software. I loaded the CaptureOnTouch software on a previous computer and would often use the “Scan to Evernote” feature. I recently changed computers and reloaded the CaptureOnTouch software, but now discovered the “Scan to Evernote” feature is missing (the software installation never prompted me to select the Evernote add-in). Called Cannon tech support – un-installed and re-installed the previous and most recent versions of CaptureOnTouch software – no luck. Cannon could not provide any additional support. Any suggestions? Is there a registry edit I can make? I loved that feature and would like to have it back.
  4. I use the portable Canon scanner P215 with the CaptureOnTouch software that comes with a Evernote Plugin so you can scan directly to Evernote. After installing te Capture software and the Evernote Plugin, I can't select anything in the Capture software to scan directly to Evernote. In the settings of CaptureOnTouch, I find out that the Plugin is installed, but where does it fit in the scansoftware?? If I look in to the manual of the Canon scanner, there has to be a extra outputsetting to Evernote, there isn't one! Ofcourse there are a few work arounds, like scanning into a folder that is set as auto import folder in Evernote.. Or scan to a selectable EXE in CaptureOnTouch, and select the Evernote.EXE... But thats not the meaning of installing a plugin. Does anybody have information for me what is wrong and solve this Issue? Edwin. System: Windows 7
  5. I have a Canon ImageFORMULA P-215 scanner which has an Evernote plugin. However if I scan a document using this the scan always ends up in the currently open notebook, and it seems there is no way to configure destination notebook, or anything else useful like tags. Since I have several notebooks it's easy to miss a scan completely. I have tried using Import Folders instead, but this suffers the problem that a multi-page document is imported immediately into Evernote before it is fully scanned. Any idea how to usefully scan to Evernote from this scanner? Cheers -- Mike --
  6. I owned the scanner for a week and I'm, so far, shocked by the dismal experience with my P-215. The software for Mac is a joke, shows all the telltale signs of "aftethought development" and is very buggy. I haven't been able, so far, to make the Evernote integration work properly and Canon's support website is itself a joke. I also read that the scanner should be able to work with only one cable when using USB 3, but it's not the case with my MacBook Pro Retina. I tried to register my product and the form asks if I have a "token ring" network. They obviously care about their customers and put a great deal of effort in keeping that thing up to date... Summary, you're better off with the Fujitsu ScanSnap or whatever else.
  7. Hello all, I see that some residential-grade Canon products are compatible with Evernote. Does anyone have any information on scanning into/printing from Evernote using Canon commercial-grade equipment (imageRUNNER/imageRUNNER Advance)? Any help is very much appreciated. -Jon
  8. After reading Jamie Rubin's post on going paperless, I upgraded to a Canon P-150 from my ScanSnap S1100. I was out of town when I got it and installed the driver software on my MacBook Air. The Capture OneTouch software crashes each time I open it. I came home today and installed on my iMac and the same thing happens. I have had 4 conversations with Canon Support and have e-mailed the crash reports. They cannot give me a solution. I can use the Mac TWAIN with Preview but it does not support two-sided. I have given up on the Canon support folks and I am looking for a third-party scanning solution that integrates with Evernote and supports the P-150. Any suggestions? Many thanks. Ron Felton
  9. I recently purchased the Canon P-150 scanner and am having some difficulties. I'm trying to figure out how to delete selected scanned images when multiple pages are scanned. For example, I am scanning the holiday cards I want to save and I don't need a copy of the back of the card that says the manufacturers name and information. Is there a way I can delete selected pages after the multiple pages have been scanned?
  10. Hi I've been using Evernote for a few years and I'm in the process of really cleaning up my life, which means I'm looking to go 100% paperless. For that I need a documentscanner but unfortunately most of them are two expensive for my current budget so it seems I have narrowed it down to either the Canon P-150M(I'm a Mac user, hence the M version) or the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 - The price is almost identical in my country so thats not an issue. I've read a few reviews on them but none of them are really thorough so the only thing i can conclude at the moment is that the Canon looks better when looking at the specs - Twice the scanning speed, TWAIN compatible, double ADF capacity, can scan a wider range of paperstocks but besides that I can't really figure out which one is the best so any input would be greatly appreciated. I'm curious about the quality of the scans(Both for documents and images), the ease of use, how good the ADF is, the ability to correct crooked scans etc. Especially if there is something that indicates the S1300 to be the right choice - The specs says otherwise but the specs are only part of the truth I've also just noticed the existence of the Epson GT-1500 in the same price range - Anybody have experience with that?
