  1. I am reaching out to see if anyone has the same interest in: Automation of tagging Example 1: if i put a To Do "Box" in my note it would be nice if a tag "To Do" was added automatically So i guess I trying to understanding if anyone else would OR has the need for automation within Evernote. I believe it would compliment the Evernote platform.
  2. Hi there, I know this topic has existed somewhere here, but I hope someone could help me out here, as Evernote may have since done a workaround. My question for this perennial issue is - Is it possible to automate the tagging system with newly imported doc? If there is this solution, am I able to 'switch off' the auto tagging whenever I want? Thanks very much for any suggestion here. Cheers. Ash.
  3. Hello, It would be nice to have the possiblility to add tags to notebooks so that, when creating a note inside a notebook, it could be automaticaly inherited from the notebook were it was created. - Cheers, Hugo
  4. Notes I create using web clipper in chrome have a tag already assigned to them. I want to eliminate this apparent "auto tagging." This started a week ago. I discovered one forum post on this issue that was closed though contained a link to a supposed solution, but that turned out to be simply the support page. Searching endlessly produced no answer, though I noticed requests for having the ability to auto tag notes. Well, it seems that EN already has it, but I can't figure out where to turn it off. Ideas welcome.
  5. Hi, How to stop the automatic conversion of Google Drive links to a box "Title not available, Connect, with three dots". I would like the URL string to remain as a URL string, not converted automatically.
  6. This has been happening for a month or so now - often when I start typing a note title, after a couple of seconds the spaces between words disappear, running the text together. EN Version 6.10 (454267 Direct) macOS 10.12.1 Sierra
  7. I want to automatically extract any text between two specific subheaders (say ***** and !!!!!) from all notes in a notebook into a single note every week. Has anyone ever written a script to search for and copy/export parts of notes? Any thoughts on how it could be done? Thanks!
  8. Hi there, Today I was working in Evernote when I received a prompt (from Evernote app) saying something about my next meeting starting soon, & it asked if I wanted to create a new note for it. I wasn't really thinking so I just clicked OK. It created a new note with a bunch of meeting information autofilled (see attached screenshot). The weird thing is, this is the *only* time I've ever seen this happen and I can't replicate it. None of the other meetings on my calendar generate this prompt and nice template. The weirder part is that I don't even know what triggered that in the first place. It would mean Evernote would have to know the events on my calendar, and I checked my app connections and I have nothing connected. I thought maybe I had another app that was integrating, but I checked the same things in both my personal and work email accounts, my calendar apps, and confirmed I do not have any IFTTT recipes turned on that would do this. I'm totally stumped! I've attached Evernote's logs from the time frame but the specific event happened at 12:37pm. There's a line here that indicates when the new note was created, but doesn't really provide any insight as to what trigger it. 2016/02/09 12:37:01:889 I|* -[ENCommonEditorWebView openNote:] main | #0 | Open note [no guid]/p470 'Go over tickets' Any insight to this mystery would be appreciated. Ultimately I'd love to have this capability for all my meetings, which I know is possible with IFTTT, but since I don't have that, how is it happening?? Thanks! Evernote_453102_2016-02-10.txt
  9. I have my entire note in Georgia 18 point font. If I backspace before a line break, such as this one, to make it all one sentence, the line after the break automatically switches to Evernote's default font / size. Examples attached. Cursor at beginning of second line. Backspace key pressed to reproduce error. Please address this !
  10. Often I use Note Links to organise my notes. I have a primary note which has multiple Note Links to other notes in various notebooks and/or stacks. Is there a way to create this contents/index-style note automatically, creating a note with Note Links to all the notes within a certain notebook or stack? Thanks! Visually: Notebook: Tasks Note 1: Buy a cat Note 2: Learn to backflip Note 3: Go to Mars Then there's an Index function which creates a note in Tasks called, say, Tasks Index, the contents of which is: Buy a cat Learn to backflip Go to Mars
  11. I would love a feature that would allow automated and scheduled export of notebooks. This would be hugely valuable to any individuals or groups that need frequent local backups of Evernote. Additionally, being able to automatically export those notebooks separately would be useful, especially because people might have personal and work notebooks on the same account, or have notebooks for several projects that should be kept separate. A little more detail: I am a graduate student working in a biology lab. I and several of my colleagues are have recently adopted Evernote to manage our daily lab data, but we need to have frequent backups to our lab's servers. Currently we have everyone making manual exports (of .enex files) every week and then automate the rest of the process. The problem is that people forget. I have found a 3rd party solution (http://evernoteexporter.codeplex.com/releases/view/79142), but it exports all notebooks together. This would be awesome if it existed in Evernote - it's the primary reason that my bosses have been hesitant to allow us to use Evernote. But if anyone knows of 3rd party apps or extensions that can do this same thing, I would appreciate a link!
  12. Hello, I use Evernote to keep a "status report" note that lists my daily activity, useful for my team and boss. It's a shared notebook and my team has access to it, but Evernote adopotion as a tool is a slow process and I do not expect my team to use it as feverishly as I do. Considering the amount of tools they currently use I thought it would be easier to just have this note automatically emailed out once a week (say, Monday morning). I do not believe automated emails is yet a feature of Evernote but I at least wanted to see if anyone had written a script or found another way to automated this process. Thanks! Regards, Peter
  13. anyone have links to discussions/descriptions about automatically sending financial documents to en? thanks, doug
  14. Hi, since yesterday, Evernote is doing 'smart'; it places full stops when two spaces are typed, and makes phrases of text blue and underlined. I don't want that! Please tell me how to switch off these 'features'. Thanks, Jay
  15. Anyone have an idea of how Evernote can automatically add a tag to a new note - for instance '2012'? Thanks, Mr.P.
  16. I've noticed that I have many "to do" notes spread throughout different notebooks, different projects, etc. But when something is HOT I mark the to do in red: - Task 1 - Task 2 - Task 3 I have a few reds in different notes. I'd love to have a note called NOW where all the reds from different notes are appended automatically. So, I create a new task in red, it goes to the red note, I erase it, it erases itself from the "aggregator". The same concept could apply to a RED notebook where new notes are copied automatically according to a tag or color, etc. This could be customized (which note, which notebook, and which color) Is it too crazy? ANY TIP OR SUGGESTION to simulate this and have all my "now" in one place?
