I am having an annoying 'problem' with Evernote on both my home and work Mac's, and wanted to know if this was something there was a fix for. It happens frequently enough that I thought of asking for help here. When Evernote autocorrects something I've typed, the keystroke CMD-Z will not only undo the autocorrection, but will instead undo the last sentence or two of typing. This behaviour is not consistent with other Mac programs I used, including Textedit, Safari, or MS Word, where CMD-Z undoes the autocorrection only. It is annoying because when it tries to auto-'correct' some technical terms that I do not want fixed, I instinctively hit CMD-Z and Evernote deletes a sentence or so of text. To give a specific example, assume I want to type "I updated the mount points in fstab.", where autocorrect will 'correct' fstab to 'stab'. At this point, I hit CMD-Z. In Textedit/MS Word, it undoes the autocorrect, replacing stab with fstab and I move on. In Evernote, it deletes the entire sentence, and I have to type it all over again. Any help would be appreciated! Sam
I am trying to use Evernote to store some notes in MÄori. Unfortunately, as there is no dictionary I can install to type in MÄori, this means a lot of the words I type are marked as incorrect by the Mac built in spellchecker. More frustratingly, the autocorrection will change MÄori words into English ones, but if I hit undo, instead of reverting the autocorrection as it usually does, Evernote reverts my typing of the word. You can see this in action here, where I'm trying to add the word "pepeha" at the beginning of the sentence. I type it, it autocorrects to "pepper", I hit "undo" and it removes the whole word. This is driving me crazy, but I don't want to turn off autocorrect system wide in Mac just to fix the issue. Any help appreciated
I'm going to call this a bug, but it might be a feature request: When editing: Normal behavior in iOS 8 Tap on a word quickly and if it's not spelled correctly, it will be highlighted in a pale pink and you'll get options for auto-correct. Double-tap a word and it gets highlighted in the usual way (blue with the handles at start and end) and you get a little pop-up menu for doing various things with it.Evernote behavior The pale pink highlighting comes and goes immediately, and the autocorrect menu along with it, leaving the word selected in the normal way (blue with handles), without any pop-up menu. The pop-up menu appears and disappears right away. These two bugs seem to be related, in that they involve selection and pop-up menus. In both cases, Evernote is somehow not allowing the standard iOS behavior, or it's quickly shutting it down. This is a big pain when trying to edit.
