  1. Hello I am writing about the probems i have with evernote and auto titling I absolutely use auto titling with every note, i dont want to specifically write a separate note title each time I like to write a note and after it takes the first part of the note and makes it the title / introduction to the note... however ... in Mac. app there doesnt seem to be any auto title...!!! every note is always Untitled NOTE !!!!!! unless i must go and write specifically a new title for each note , this is terrible then in android, it does make the auto title thank goodness... but if there is a calendar event , the auto title wont work , it will put a title like - Note from groceries or something Unwanted ......... or with gps, it will but always note from Milan every time........ what the hell is this ? why not just the basic option of ..... Auto title note ..... without the need for GPS or Calendar...??!!??!?!!! its INSANITY am i the only one that realises this ?? how could it be so ?
  2. After the latest update, auto-title doesn't seem to be working right anymore. Before, if I erased the title for a note, the first line would automatically become the new title. This is what I want. Now, if I erase the title, the title becomes "Title," which is useless. This also happens if I even click in the title box, even without typing anything, before it populates with the first line for the first time. After that, it seems to be safe unless I erase it. The only situation where auto-title still works fine is when I create a new note in Windows and don't touch the title box until it populates with the first line. This problem is especially annoying because I create a lot of notes on my Android phone which end up titled "Untitled Note." I used to fix these by opening the notes in Windows and erasing the title, but now that doesn't work anymore. Is there a way to get the automatic titling to work on an already-created note like it does on a new note? That is, at all?
  3. Dear Devs, On Evernote for Windows 5.x, how about the following: 1. The auto-title functionality for note titles, should be available to be switched on and off in the options. Reason for this is to please both types of users: the ones who like to give titles manually, and the ones who don't. 2. If set to on, the note auto-title should always take effect whenever the title of a note is left blank (i.e. deleted). And by auto-title I mean that the first line (up to a certain amount of characters) from the note body is used as the note title. The use case would be: Whenever a user would like to reset the title of a note, which for example has been created via Android/iOS and thus is named "Untitled Note" or has had its title manually set in the past, the fastest and most simple way should be to simply delete the existing title and let the auto-title functionality take care. (i.e. hit "F2" to jump to the title which is then completely highlighted, hit "Delete", then "Enter") This behaviour/feature would allow the user to update the title super fast without the need to do a copy & paste from the note body and pick up the hands from the keyboard (i.e. as argued for by the new beta features "Formatting Shortcuts") 3. If set to off, keep the behaviour as it is now: if the note title is deleted it puts "Title" as the note title. My further reasoning for this is as follows: I feel that there are two types of users: one who like to set the title themselves with top priority, and the ones who don't. For the first group, the auto-tile is an annoying feature, because they would like to know which titles they haven't named yet, so showing them "Title" as a note title if it hasn't been set yet is fine. For the second group, they don't want to be bothered by setting a specific title for each note, and just want the software to take care of this. Having a note called "Title" or "Untitled Note" is an annoyance for them because then the software is not making their life easier. Who else feels this way or differently? Cheers L
  4. Using Evernote 5.8.14.8221, Windows 7 x64 When I create new notes and set a title, the title is repeatedly replaced by the first line of text from the body. I did a bit of troubleshooting and it is reproducible. To reproduce this: create a new note, start typing in the body of the note and wait a few seconds until Evernote auto-saves the note without setting the title for the first time (just let Evernote set the title itself. Then type something in the title, hit enter to return to the body and wait for the next auto-save. The title reverts to the original auto-set title. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but I believe it happens 100% of the time the first time I set the title. If I set the title repeatedly it will eventually stay. It doesn't sound like that bad of a bug but it is surprisingly annoying, especially when I've typed a fairly long title a few times and still loose it.
  5. Hi, As a result of the new auto-title feature, I have many many notes with identical titles of "Note @ YourCity". I do not find this very useful... I really liked the old auto-title feature where a title would be generated based on the first line of the note. Can you add this back? At least make it an option. Thanks!
