I use the Android app to, among other things, making actionable lists. I use the bullets and numbers as well, but most of my notes contain the checkmark boxes and I really like them. Recently, I've started noticing that creating lists using checkmarks accidentally deletes checkmarks if you use the spelling/auto-correct feature (e.g. typing 'bana' and then hitting the word 'bananas' deletes the checkmark on the beginning of the line). I'm not sure if this is a bug, or I'm using Evernote incorrectly, but I've never noticed this behavior before. Can someone give me an idea of what is going on here?
A feature request… When auto completing tags or notebook names it looks like Evernote suggests results alphabetically, and sorts them alphabetically too. It would be nice if they were sorted by frequency of use, so more popular tags and notebooks appear at the top of the list. Evernote Support - if there's a better way to submit feature requests other than posting here, please let me know. Thanks!
I recently updated to v5 of Windows version of evernote and have to save I am pleasantly pleased to find the new search by tag value name (with auto-completion) feature is in production. I find this most useful when searching for groups of items sharing common tag values. I am unable to find any way though to negate a tag value in this search but maybe I am missing something. For example I use the method to tag some groups with a "archive" tag meaning I have completed any thing requiring action on this note. But when using the search by tag feature I see no way of creating a tag search query of "xxxxx yyyyy zzzzzz !archive". I know this can all be manually typed out in the search all notes field but this removes the benefits of the search by tag feature. :-(
The first time I entered a tag for the category 'STORM', an acronym for a new microscope technique, I mis-capitalized it and entered sTORM. Since caps are an important part of tagging (at least as I understand it) I deleted it and tried to enter STORM instead, but every time I do that Evernote tries to auto-complete sTORM for me, and entering any other type of capitalization does not 'take'. The word just disappears when I press enter. Any ideas?
