  1. Images in a note created using the Evernote API appear fine on the desktop apps but they are missing when I view those notes on the Web App. Also, When i quickly switch through the notes on the web app the images do appear for less than a fraction of second but then disappears. Any help would be really appreciated.
  2. Hi there, I use IFTTT to update my notes periodically. So a note would be updated after 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months from its creation date. It turns out that when the note is 1 week or 2 weeks old, IFTTT (Evernote API) will be able to find it and append to it. But the same note won't be found when it's 1 month or older, and a new note with the exact name will be created. I suspect the Evernote API is querying a database that only contains the most recent data. But that's just my guess. It'll be greatly appreciated if someone could take a look. Thank you so much!
  3. Please provide me with a document or an URL for doing integration to Create , Update and Delete USERS or give me a confirmation for Evernote does not support these operation. I am looking for Evernote REST APIs to integrate Evernote to my app. My requirement is that 1. I should be able to authenticate Evernote with my app. Are there any OAuth Based authentication supported? I am also looking for Evernote SDKs or REST APIs. Are these APIs available for Evernote or Evernote Business?
  4. Hello all! I recently released EverExport, an open-source note export client written in Scala. The goal is to simplify working with the Evernote SDK and abstract away some of the more... confusing API methods. The client is cross-compiled to JavaScript using Scala.js, so you can also use the client from JavaScript! You can install it through NPM: npm install everexport Here is a JS example that shows how to list all notebooks in a user's account and then list all notes in the first notebook: const everexport = require('everexport') const token = "YOUR_EVERNOTE_TOKEN" const exporter = new everexport.EverExport(token, true) // Second parameter is sandbox = [true/false] // Fetch all notebooks in user's account exporter.listNotebooks() // Then fetch all notes in *first* notebook .then(notebooks => { const n = notebooks[0] return exporter.exportNotebook(n.guid) }) // Then display each note's title and creation time .then(notes => { notes.forEach(note => { console.log('Title: ' + note.title + ', Created on: ' + note.created) }); }) Let me know if you have any questions and/or suggestions!
  5. Hi, Could you please upgrade my sandbox account to Premium ? I need to test the OCR & Office document search. My sandbox username is mikael287 Thanks, Mikael

I seem to be able to do all other operations on the notes just fine, such as getting the resources, the title, the content, the notebook name, and even searching note. It is just the tag name I cannot seem to be able to retrieve... Could someone post a vb.net example on how to get the tags of a note given the note GUID?
  7. I recently noticed that box Inc. started using Google cloud vision technology, it would be amazing if Evernote could also implement this groundbreaking technology so we can use objects within photos as search content as well. Also other AI plug-ins, like recognizing calander dates and meetings would be helpful too!

    API Auth Question

When making a call to authorize we are getting an unexpected error. I am using the following CURL command with sample data because I do not have the sdk installed. What is this error? I have highlighted the confusing response. This is HTML for the page that is displayed that says 'Oops we encountered unexpected error' I get the same thing when i just enter the url into a browser Kellys-MacBook-Pro:~ kellygold$ curl -X GET 'https://sandbox.evernote.com/oauth?oauth_callback=http://cloud-elements.com&oauth_consumer_key={myapike}&oauth_nonce=3166905818410889691&oauth_signature=xCYjTiyz7GZiElg1uQaHGQ6I&oauth_signature_method=HMAC-SHA1&oauth_timestamp=1496264535&oauth_version=1.0' <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9,chrome=1" /> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1" /> <link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/redesign/global/css/reset.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/redesign/global/css/fonts.css" media="all" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/redesign/global/css/header.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/redesign/global/css/layout.css" /> <title>Evernote Error</title> </head> <body> <div class="header"> <div class="header-inner"> <a href="https://sandbox.evernote.com/Home.action?/" class="evernote-logo">Evernote</a></div> </div> <div id="container-boundingbox" class="wrapper"> <div id="container" class="wrapper"> <div class="main"> <div class="page-header"> <h1> Oops, we encountered an error.</h1> </div> <div> <p> Sorry, we've encountered an unexpected error.</p> </div> <div class="clear"></div> </div> </div> <div class="footer wrapper"> <a href="https://sandbox.evernote.com/Home.action?/tos/" class="footer-entry">Terms of Service</a><a href="https://sandbox.evernote.com/Home.action?/privacy/" class="footer-entry">Privacy Policy</a><span class="footer-entry last">Copyright 2017 Evernote Corporation. 9. Hi there, I am in the process of trying to fix a Wordpress plugin that at one point acted as a link between Evernote and Wordpress for posting notes as blog posts. Basically, using the API, it linked your two accounts and any time you tagged a note with a specific tag, that note would sync as a draft blog post on Wordpress. It was very useful, but something went wrong and it no longer works properly. In the process of trying to fix it, our developer has run into a road block and said: "Hi Bridget, so I have tried few tests and I think the issue with Evernote servers, possibly they have changed how external servers handshake/connect with them. At this point, we won't be able to make much progress. We will have to connect with Evernote Support to resolve this. Let me know how you want to proceed." I know that it is possible, since there are external programs that use the API to link with Evernote (including the web-app If This, Then That, which does exactly what we're trying to do). Does anybody know what has changed about the handshake/connection for the servers? Thanks in advance, let me know if you have any questions.
  10. Our company is considering using Evernote to replace our current knowledge base. We are currently using OneNote for a piece of that. We have 3 key requirements that we are not quite sure about. I look forward to your prompt replies as we are planning to make a decision within the next 2 weeks! Version control? Is auto time-stamping available with Plus or Premium accounts? We will need notes stamped somehow with name of person who made the change AND who approved the change? API call? Can a note be easily referenced in Salesforce notes showing the resource the agent used in documenting a call? Dynamic frequently used list (most popular) notes visible to the agent on the phone? Top hits auto populate for agents, but we need that list to be identical for all agents' PCs. We would like to schedule a conference call if necessary to expedite getting clear answers on this matter if needed. Thank you for your time!
Gracias!

  13. Hello, I've been using Evernote for a few years, and was looking for someway to transfer my thousands of Kindle highlights to it. Github had a few solutions, but they were all several years old and didn't really make good use of the API. I wrote my own Kindle2Evernote Python script. I'm not sure what else to do with it, and would be interested if any developers have any futher ideas for me. I'm not super interested in providing for the everyman with some kind of GUI, but for people with basic programming experience should be able to make use of it. In brief, a user gets a development token from Evernote, and downloads their highlights page from kindle.amazon.com, and directs the script to it. The script parses the HTML, and sends the API one note for every highlight, containing the name of the book, the author, the highlight, a Kindle link to the passage, and various IDs. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  14. Hello i want to update notes using php api. when i am going to update note not able to update but generating new notes. how to do this?? please help me thanks.
  15. Just sharing this useful tip for exporting a list of tags: Setup Open Terminal.app and paste in this line sudo easy_install pip Hit enter, then paste in this line: pip install evernote Note: it may require sudo pip install evernote if you already had pip and had just launched the Terminal. Hit enter. Get a developer token here: https://www.evernote.com/api/DeveloperToken.action Ready to go You'll need a text editor that can run Python scripts. I used TextMate. Open the attached script in TextMate or copy paste this into a new file: from evernote.api.client import EvernoteClient #setup Evernote Client client=EvernoteClient(token="[YOUR TOKEN HERE]", sandbox=False) #get note store object to call listTags, listTagsByNotebook, and listNotebooks on noteStore=client.get_note_store() tags=noteStore.listTags() #get list of all tags allTags = [tag.name for tag in tags] #put all the names of the tags in a list #print tags for tag in allTags: print("%s"%tag) print("") on line 3 replace [YOUR TOKEN HERE] with your developer token. Type ⌘R to run the script. Bingo! evernote_tags.py.zip
  16. A couple of years ago mgsxx announced the initial release of QEverCloud - the library implementing the Evernote SDK in a Qt-friendly way, using Qt's containers and data types. With QEverCloud you can easily interact with your Evernote account's notes, notebooks, tags and other various info from inside the Qt app using the library. QEverCloud is used by NixNote2, the unofficial Linux Evernote desktop client. About a year ago I took this project over and just recently the 3.0 release has hit the ground. Not much has changed from the functionality POV, my focus was on compatibility and the ease of packaging: the latest version of the library supports both Qt4 and Qt5 branches and within Qt5 it supports the use of either QtWebKit or QtWebEngine for OAuth. I've even created some packages for Linux, for now only for Debian Jessie, Linux Mint 17 and Fedora 24. More packages and packaging recipes for other OS and distros would hopefully follow. Everyone is welcome to try QEverCloud out and provide some feedback - questions, suggestions, problem reports, help with further packaging

    Open EN-API

Whats about providing an API, instead of trying to implement only a part of great ideas from your customers. So we can build our own features. Because I think, the community has great ideas, but EN is unable to serve them all. An API would be the best compromiss for creating cool things as (only a glimse from my mind): Inline Tags (similar to Google Keep) Inline Anchors / in connection with an Table of Content "real" tables // the current implementation is really buggy Tables with fixed header / footer Tables with summary (calculating Columns) Tables with column sort Tabled with column filter "real" formatting // the the ideas from Confluence as real headlines Additional meta information to an note like a date range special note types Or mark a note as template Excerpts of a note (using the same Template everywhere and get all updates Macros at all / Maybe a Macro Market? An better search UI (at least under Windows / Android) - bec. the current works, but you need to remember all search terms instead of clicking them together Outlining (collapsable list of information) Checkboxes which inherite the state from child checkboxes Different color for Evernote links in comparison to real links (I know you get green links if you drag a note to another, but this does not work with STRG-K Speaking about links - why should we use 3! different shortcuts to edit a link? Why not only STRG+K as all other Win or Web-Apps work Support for Markdown Allow inline HTML Edititing (for advanced users) Allow Inline Videos - An Note is just an HTML - why not support embedded Objects? Preview of attached Office Documents / Google Documents - there are a plenty of Viewers available Finding attachements based on the extension (this is already implemented, but in a real limited way - so I need to assign extra tags to find my attachements Support of a global CSS to style your notes ....and many many more - thats just a few of my ideas ... but think about the power of the community....! Don't get me wrong: I really love Evernote and I'm a Premium user since years. But I can't see any development to make things really usefull. Yes: EN 6.* for windows was a huge leap in the right direction, but there are sooo many missing features regarding to the editor - I can referate hours about the pros and cons of EN :-)
  18. I have applied to activate my API key for several days, but there is no any reviewing progress showed to me, and how long will the review process take, and where am I.
  19. I have website where speakers post their messages, and listeners read. I want to allow listeners to use evernote to write their thoughts and store them on my website and full sync. Is this something that Evernote API can do?

    Evernote Oauth with Java

    Hello friends, I am working on a Java project in which we would wish to provide Evernote functionality for our app in which we could sync notes, attachments, etc to & fro Evernote. For this to work, I would like to authenticate against Evernote server and then persist the tokens in our database so we can provide services even when user is not logged into Evernote. To achieve this, I have added Scribe library and Evernote java SDK in POM.xml. Unfortunately, I am unable to find any examples of how is the mechanism to authenticate against the server and then which tokens are sent from evernote, which ones are for future usage. I am unable to find documentation for the same. I have some code which worked with a developer token, and only a patch of OAuthService. Can someone help me the authentication mechanism and which tokens to save and later consume? Please note, I am using Spring-MVC as a platform. Developer token code : EvernoteAuth evernoteAuth = new EvernoteAuth(EvernoteService.SANDBOX, AUTH_TOKEN); ClientFactory factory = new ClientFactory(evernoteAuth); userStore = factory.createUserStoreClient(); boolean versionOk = userStore.checkVersion("Evernote EDAMDemo (Java)", com.evernote.edam.userstore.Constants.EDAM_VERSION_MAJOR, com.evernote.edam.userstore.Constants.EDAM_VERSION_MINOR); if (!versionOk) { System.err.println("Incompatible Evernote client protocol version"); System.exit(1); } // Set up the NoteStore client noteStore = factory.createNoteStoreClient(); System.out.println("Listing notes:"); // First, get a list of all notebooks List<Notebook> notebooks = noteStore.listNotebooks(); for (Notebook notebook : notebooks) { System.out.println("Notebook: " + notebook.getName()); // Next, search for the first 100 notes in this notebook, ordering // by creation date NoteFilter filter = new NoteFilter(); filter.setNotebookGuid(notebook.getGuid()); filter.setOrder(NoteSortOrder.CREATED.getValue()); filter.setAscending(true); NoteList noteList = noteStore.findNotes(filter, 0, 100); List<Note> notes = noteList.getNotes(); for (Note note : notes) { System.out.println(" * " + note.getTitle()); } } System.out.println(); Authentication code : @Override public void checkOutEverNote() throws Exception { OAuthService service = new ServiceBuilder() .provider(EvernoteApi.Sandbox.class) .apiKey(CLIENT_KEY) .apiSecret(CLIENT_SECRET) .callback("http://localhost:8080/recievetoken") .build(); Token requestToken = service.getRequestToken(); String authUrl = service.getAuthorizationUrl(requestToken); }
  22. Hi Evernote fans! I'm new to Evernote, but not to the concept. Thanks for making a great product. I own a Fujitsu ScanSnap s1500m scanner (and it's awesome). For the past 18 months, I scan in all my papers, receipts, everything into Mariner Software's "Paperless" application. While I like this application, the absence of an iPad/iPhone version and/or a Web version is quite limiting. I would like to migrate my entire Paperless library (~1400 documents at last count, mostly PDF) including tags into Evernote. Does anyone know how how? I have nicely sorted all my documents in Paperless to have their correct date, and tagged - and would like to have this reflected in Evernote (i.e. tags, creation date). It's very easy to simply drag + drop all files into Evernote and have them appear as Notes but I would like my tags to be carried over and creation date saved. Anyone have any ideas? I really don't want to have to spend days figuring out how to write a script to export from the Paperless SQLite database, and then another script/tool to import into Evernote.... Thanks Ryan.
  23. Hi, I thought I'd won the lottery after finding how to connect Evernote to Insightly using Zapier. BUT, the export from Evernote - from contacts scanned into Evernote - isn't well defined and so I can't map (for example) the surname field from the Evernote contact scan to my Insightly contact surname field. Are there any plans to make the Evernote fields more accessible?
  24. Hello gang, My relationship with Evernote is a rocky one (three years and counting), and most recently I decided to leave EN entirely to try and seek other solutions within the Google Apps. I learned a lot of cool "tricks" while I was away, but I feel this system too has it's drawbacks, and there's room only for one love-hate relationship in my life.. .So I went back to Evernote. There are a few things I would love to see Evernote doing, but probably won't happen. I decided to check out just how realistic it would be to program Evernote, one way or another, to do what I want it to do. Even if I fail, it would still be an interesting (and useful) introduction into programming. I figured. Here is a quick rundown of things I'd like to work on: Color for the notes in the snippet (not the note itself) window: I love color and I sort by color. Lack of color has been one of my biggest issues. Additional hot keys in web view for Evernote, like for inserting a picture, inserting a link, etc. Offline storage for Evernote - so the site can read notes that are saved offline vie the web app. Dynamic Google Drive/Dropbox - Evernote integration: so when I change a document on Google Drive, it changes on Evernote. This should also work with attachments, so the latest attachment is replacing the old one.How hard would these be to do? What is your general consensus about this? From experience, and if you have trick to achieve the above, please let me know!
  25. Hi there, Consider the following: I call noteStore.GetNote() and if I immediately need the resources as well, I just set the withResourceData parameter to TRUE. However, I only need the image resources as those will be displayed immediately when the user opens a note in my app. Other resources, like pfds and docs, are better requested when the user explicitly wants this file, by clicking a link (or other visual element) in the note in my app. So, when I call noteStore.GetNote() I set the withResourceData parameter to FALSE and just call the noteStore.getResource() method for each (image) resource I actually need when serving the note, and subsequently perhaps other resources of other mime types as per the users' request. The problem with this approach is that the rate limit for requesting individual resources gets in sight pretty quickly as the Evernote servers judge this approach as "inefficient" use of the api, according to the docs - understandably, as the less intensive route would be to just set the withResourceData parameter to TRUE when getting the note. However, that leaves my app with a few of resources it needs right away, and a couple (or many) it does not/might need and which are better serves to my user as per their request, using the noteStore.getResouce() method. To get all resources immediately when getting the note is, from my app's and user's perspective a very inefficient way of going about, and I would like to know what would be the best approach in solving this using the current api. I very much would like the advice of a Evernote employee in this matter, or anyone who has solved this in a creative manner. Also, if their is a part of the API i am missing which solves this, I will happily invite you to my home where you can lecture me on the importance of reading the documentation properly :-). Thanks, Corstiaan
