  1. Hopefully someone can help me solve this problem, as the Evernote support team has been trying for 5 days. I'm unable to play .wav files within the notes on my windows client (4.5.4.6498). I'm running windows vista. On my Android phone I record a speech to text note and it translates it fine. Evernote then saves the audio as a .wav file on the phone, which then syncs to my windows clients. I attempt to play the file within the note on my windows laptop and Evernote locks the note up. I'm able to jump to another note, create new notes, edit notes, but any note with an audio attachment I can't play until I totally quit Evernote and get back into it. I'm able to play the .wav file on my Android phone with no issues. I've noticed regular audio notes without speech to text are saved as .amr files. Speech to text files are saved as .wav files. My default media player is VLC on my home laptop. When I drag the .amr audio note to my desktop, VLC plays it fine. When I drag the .wav file to my desktop VLC plays it correctly. When I right click on the .wav file and say play with Windows Media Player (from my desktop), it throws up an error and says it can't play the file because it doesn't have the correct codec, so I went down the codec route. I installed the K-lite codec pack thinking that would have the correct codec, with no luck. I've uninstalled and re-installed Windows media player, checked for windows updates with the same issue. I also have Evernote installed on my work computer (WinXP with 4.5.4.6498), which doesn't have VLC installed. I see the same behavior on my work laptop, as the .wav file is unplayable and locks up Evernote until I restart my whole computer (even worse!!). After dragging the audio .wav file to my desktop rears the same error in windows media player as an "incorrect codec". Any help would be much appreciated. I love Evernote and this is the only issue I've had in the past 3 years as a premium subscriber.
  2. I recorded many audio notes on Evernote using a Motorola Droid X. The files were saved as .amr Now I have an iPhone 5 and I can't play back the audio notes. There is no error message, it just pulls up the note and starts the player at the top of the screen but sits and doesn't play. Is this a problem with the .AMR file type? Is there an app I can download that will allow these to play? Can I convert them if not? Thanks
  3. I have two mobile clients. Ipod Touch and an Android smartphone. Voice notes on Android are *.amr files, which are not supported in the IOS Evernote client. So I cannot play my notes taken with my Android phone on the IOS device. That is not quite fantastic. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  4. Good morning, After searching the forum and finding this mentioned (but apparently not resolved) around 3 years ago, I am asking for help. The aforementioned link is http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/11945-ipad-wont-play-voice-notes-created-on-android-phone/page__p__56869__hl__amr__fromsearch__1#entry56869 and may be the answer, but I am not sure? After extracting voicemails from the iPhone to my windows desktop, I copied the resulting .amr files into Evernote, one attachment per note. The attachments play perfectly in the Windows client. So after syncing the iPhone client, it was surprising to learn that the voicemail attachments will not play on the iPhone, more specifically, they do not play in the Evernote iOS client. Interestingly, if I share the note by email, then access the note via that url on the iPhone, the message plays just fine. Any ideas as to why this is happening and/or how to resolve? Thank you.
  5. Hi there, I'm a new Evernote user, and was quite intrigued by the "Dictation Note" option. After dictating some commentary to a book chapter I was reading, Evernote synced itself to the online server. I was amazed by the proficiency of the text recognition, and excited by the prospect of all of the applications I could see for this! And then, I noticed that an audio file (WAV as opposed to AMR) was saved along with the note, and this used up a good portion of my 60MB. This made me wonder if there was a setting which would allow for dictation, and speech-to-text within Evernote, without needing to save the audio file. If I had wanted to save the audio file, I would have made an "Audio Note". Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a simple way to fix this that I've overlooked? Thanks for any help.
  6. Regards, I have problems with my notes, I have notes from my android powered, but when I'm viewing my notes on my windows pc I see them repeated several times. And another problem I had is that evevernot projects me my audio files as .amr and I don't know anyprogram that can play those. Could it be that I'm using windows or any other compatibility problem?
