Something was wrong with my Evernote and decided to reinstall. Downloaded from the official page at https://evernote.com/download/ and upon dragging the app to the Applications folder, AVG Antivirus gave me a warning (screenshot attached). It doesn't seem right, to have the file from the official site have viruses (if this even is one). Could it be something else in my laptop? AVG itself? Help will be appreciated.
Has anyone else had issues with adware being installed together with the Evernote.exe file??? This is the second time this happens to me, so I'm seriously starting to develop a phobia of updating Evernote. The first time those two malicious files executed themselves was when I accepted an automatic update, and the second time exactly the same thing happened when I tried to reinstall Evernote instead of updating the existing software on my computer. These are the names of the files which install themselves completely silently, which is very frustrating: DisocOunttLuOcator.exereaLdeeal.exeThese two completely highjack your browser, installing all kinds of ads and offering coupons (they also install a couple of browser add-ons). And they gather (and send out) information from your computer, according to what I've read online. I got the installation file from the Evernote website, so it shouldn't contain adware, so if this is intentional - no bueno. Has anyone else had this issue???
Hello, I recently upgraded to 126.96.36.19972 version on Windows 7 pro. Here, the terrible popup comes every time you startup evernote client. "WHAT LEVEL DO YOU WANT? BASIC, PREMIUM or PLUS"? Trying to force me into a paid version off course. Ok, select it, Basic. then: "YOU HAVE CHOSEN BASIC." popup screen with all non-information of what I can do (and do for a few years already, as if I didn't know that). How to get rid of this? Without a paid version? Is Evernote finally showing it's ugly face and forcing users into a paid version? If so: I will have to cancel my account, looking for an alternative. Paul
