  1. While I can understand Presentation Mode being a feature that many would appreciate, I don't understand why we're forced to use it, whether we want it or not. I have many notes containing images of one type or another. Large images -- like screenshots -- are understandably reduced in size significantly in order to be displayed within a note. So, to view an image at full size, I simply want to double-click the image and view it. (Better yet -- we'd select the image and simply hit the spacebar for a "QuickLook-style" view.) Instead, double-clicking any image now automatically invokes Presentation Mode. The image is blown up to the full size of the screen, and everything else is obscured. I don't want that! Who could have thought this was a good idea as the default -- and only -- behavior? Presentation Mode is a great feature to have -- if or when needed. But it appears there's now no way whatsoever to simply view an image within a note at the image's default size -- without having to enter Presentation Mode. In other words, every image opens in Presentation Mode -- whether you like it or not. Ugh. Bottom-line: How does one simply view an image at normal size without everything else on one's screen being obscured from view? If I've overlooked a method for simply viewing an image, please let me know. Otherwise, please, please rethink this, so we can simply view our notes' images!
  2. Evernote for Mac Version 6.13.1 (455785 Direct) 1. When I have a numbered list and change the font to Verdana 18pt, then the numbers remain unchanged and small (looks like Helvetica 13). 2. When publishing such note, the numbers are bigger but not Verdana. Tested on Google Chrome for Mac Version 63.0.3239.132 (Official Build) (64-bit). See screenshots attached. This is clearly a bug. Please fix. Thanks, Martin
  3. Hi, Can I request the return of the Atlas search feature in Evernote for Mac? Being someone who travels around for business it has been a HUGE disappointment to lose this feature which I previously found so useful for locating notes made in different locations. I've tried using the more cumbersome latitude and longitude searches but these simply do not bring up all the notes made in these locations and it is a great hassle to have to try to find the coordinates of a location first anyway. You already had the feature working really well so why downgrade the service - especially without actually telling us that is what you were doing? Thank you. Paul Branston
  4. I was just wondering if handwriting support for the mac version is in the works. I've just tried the windows version and noticed that full support for pen input is available.. it will be awesome to have this on mac as well.
  5. I've been waiting for Evernote to add this feature for years. This is what I would love: 1. A button within the note that enables full-screen mode. This mode removes EVERYTHING except the words. Moving your mouse will make editing tools visible. 2. Full-Screen Mode also has margin and line-height functionality. That's it! Please Evernote! Please make this change to our desktop app!
  6. I am trying to export a local notebook. It all goes well but after the export procedure seems to have processed all the notes in the notebook I get the following message: "The file “content.enml” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file." I can find no way to solve or remove this problem. Eventually, after not getting anything useful from Evernote, I tried exporting the local notebooks one at a time and found that the problem was with only one notebook with a large number of notes. I went through that notebook selecting 250 notes at a time and exporting them until I got the same problem as I reported above. By gradually breaking that batch down into ever smaller batches I was able to isolate a note causing the problem. It was an empty note with the title Screenshot. When I deleted that note the batch exported without problem. So I searched through the remaining notes in the notebook for similarly titled notes and found about a dozen. Deleted them all and the problem went away. I’m not sure what produces empty notes with the Screenshot title, but I suspect it is one of the screen clipping options in the dropdown menu for the elephant symbol in the top bar. The fact that it was only notes in that one notebook (titled !_InBox) where things directed to Evernote are saved makes me think that this has arisen from a program update issue at some stage. This notebook had 800+ notes in it and I haven’t sorted them into the relevant folders for a very long time, so (given that I’ve now deleted those notes) it isn’t possible to identify the time period (and hence the Evernote version) in which they were produced. So, if you have this problem look for notes with the title Screenshot and delete them if they are empty. Dataminer
  7. How can I import my notes from Apples Notes App into Evernote?
  8. Are there any plans to add inline code block (like Markdown's `inline code block`)?
  9. Hello, Evernote for Mac 7.14 is now available. You can download it here. Fixed: Sometimes the app would get stuck loading a note (usually a web clip or shared note) until finally it gave up and assumed you were offline. But now your notes should load fast enough to make you smile. If you updated to macOS Catalina then tried to highlight text inside a PDF, it would look like there was nothing selected. You could say it was a big fail, but on the bright side, we fixed it. Updates to templates
  10. I use Evernote for archiving my ideas and running a minimal to do list. I often use the checklist feature in various notes across various projects. One thing that would improve the usefulness of these checklists is the ability to automatically sort notes when a task is completed. For example, checking a box next to a task would push the task below other unfinished items in the checklist. Some additional scenarios: Some folks might just say, "Well, why don't you just delete completed tasks?". The reason is because I like to keep a record of all tasks, whether they have been completed or not. A poor man's solution to this problem is manual task/item sorting. I've seen that mentioned in other threads here. I don't love the idea of having to manually sort tasks in my checklist, but I would take that over not being able to sort at all. Lastly, a more complex, but potentially more polished system would be an archival function. So instead of just moving tasks to the bottom of the checklist when they are checked off, they would be hidden at the bottom of the checklist. Ideally, you would have some sort of button or link that would allow you expand the checklist and see tasks that were previously completed (archived in this scenario). Right now, checklists is the only feature set that feels lacking to me. I really love being able to integrate all of my data and tasks into the same tool. I've tried breaking out my to do list into a separate app like ToDoist or Google Keep, but I always keep coming back to Evernote because I love using one tool versus switching back and forth between a chrome tab and Evernote. I will continue to use and support your product because I feel like there is nothing that comes close in terms of a full all-in-one solution for data and task lists. However, please consider beefing up the checklist functionality as it would greatly improve the ability for users like me to go "all in" with Evernote. Thanks for your time.
  11. EN 7.2 (Premium account) Mac OS 10.13.5 Searching for a term (whether in 'all notes' or 'my notes') returns no or few results, even when I know the term is in several notes. As far as I can tell, searching by tag works fine. Help please! This renders Evernote almost completely useless to me as I upgraded to Premium precisely so as to be able to rely on full-text search and minimise burden of tagging all my notes.
  12. I used Folders in Evernote and send alot of emails direct to the folder for example:- someone sends me a quote for a mortgage and I send the email to Budget @Personal Finance. Sometimes the title of the email subject will just be Personal Finance and I just press send to Evernote. What keeps happening is that even if I put the @ symbol, my Evernote seems to have a favourite default folder (not @Inbox which I also use) but a random folder which has nothing to do with anything. It puts all sorts of stuff in there seemingly without any connection at all (it's for short stories). How can I stop it assigning emails that it doesn't know what to do with to this folder?
  13. After scanning a business card (with ScanSnap Evernote Edition), most of the card data is correctly populated in Evernote. I can do small edits, but cannot figure out how to correct data that was missed. For example, Evernote correctly picked up 2 out of 3 phone numbers, but I cannot seem to add the 3rd one to the Evernote card record. Evernote also missed the URL on the card, and I cannot figure out how to add a URL field (do I need to put that in the notes section?). Is the business card functionality really that immature (alpha? pre-alpha?), or am I just being really dense? both?
  14. I can say for certainty (having just tried) that this works in windows 10 but not on Mac OS X. Please can this feature be added to the Mac version?
  15. It would be great if you added a find and replace function within notes on Evernote. This would prevent me from having to use another program.
  16. Hi, I'm using Evernote 7.0 on a mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3. Problem: the search function has stopped working. It wasn't working on the previous version either. The word recognition will only pull from the most recent notes, rather then searching all my notebooks. This causes me to have to search for my data manually. Is there a way to fix this? I have evernote basic account and they do provide customer support for technical issues.
  17. I'm experiencing a slowdown on typing and scrolling speeds on notes that have a lot of images in them. I tried a few things: First I thought that maybe the images were too big but the lag is barely better with dramatically smaller images. Next I thought maybe there's too many images but I get the same problem with 4 images that I do with 20. I'm using png images around 400k each and that note is completely unusable for me, even at my slow typing speed. I'm using 7.14 on Catalina 10.15.2
  18. I searched online extensively before posting (including posts in this forum). I can't seem to figure out how to hide the notes list that appears in between the shortcut/sidebar and the actual note body -- I can change the location or style of the list using the icon on the top right / immediately left of the actual note input body -- card view, expanded card view, snippet view, etc. but I can't actually find out how to hide this panel! I am using Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and Evernote 5.5.1. A previous forum post here said OSX Lion had a 'hide favorites' option which hid this panel but I do not see this option on any menu items. It is very hard to use the software with the side panel always present because (a) it takes up 1/3rd of the window, ( I can't pull up notes with a work colleague sitting next to me because some private notes are displayed in the side panel (obviously, I could show a different folder of notes in the panel but it is too annoying to have to think about this every time), and © it is very distracting and actually hard to work when you see a huge list of notes in your peripheral vision that you can't get rid of unless you move the note you are working on into a separate window. Why is there not a simple show/hide panel widget icon? If there is, am I missing it? Please help.. great software but I can't use it like this!
  19. A while ago, the Evernote for Mac annotation tool switched from the normal sans-serif font (Helvetica, maybe?) to a fixed-width font that is not as readable. This is a guess, and I'm not sure it was the cause--but I think the font changed a few weeks ago when I inserted an emoji into a text annotation on my mac. Is there a way to revert the font back to the default font? I am guessing that my only recourse is to fully uninstall and reinstall due to corruption in an underlying set of configurations that have no user interface.
  20. A recent update moved icons from the header bar. Users want the choice of which icons appear. This is currently a feature on the Windows platform
  21. Many of my notes have paragraphs that are oddly spaced - I'm not sure if they're 1.5 or double spaced, or if the lines are always 20 point (or whatever), even if the text font is changed to 12. Anyway, how can I change those paragraphs to "normal", so they're not oddly spaced? Is there a way to do this? It seems like Simplify Formatting should do this, but it doesn't. It'll change the font and font size, but it doesn't change the line spacing. This typically happens with notes that I've clipped into Evernote. Often I'll want to add my own comments at the top of the note, but I'm stuck with weird formatting at that point in the file. (Of course, this question falls into the large category of "Please give us better text formatting options" questions, but I'm hoping this specific point can be addressed.) Thanks!
  22. Been using Evernote for a few years. Have never had a single issue. Out of nowhere yesterday, I'm no longer able to copy and paste text without it adding a strange syntax (&npsp;). Here's an example: ORIGINAL COPIED TEXT Up to product team, come up with content to support them, making sure content gets created, briefing creative to creative services team so that it looks good in email and suits product, writing product, come a long way over the past few years PASTED TEXT Up to product team, come up with content to support them, making sure content gets created, briefing creative to creative services team so that it looks good in email and suits product, writing product, come a long way over the past few years= Any ideas how to fix this? Using Macbook Air, updated to the latest version of the free Evernote. Thanks everyone!!
  23. Two quick feature requests: Have a "Remove Date" button or option for reminders - vs. removing the reminder all together, then retagging the note as a reminder Add a "Today" button to the "Add Date to Reminder" menu option (right now, I just see "Tomorrow" and "In a week") And here are the standard motivational phrases / thinly veiled threats to get your PMs to make this a priority (choose your favorite!): I am a free user, and if I just had these features I'd totally become a premium member. I'm currently a Premium member, but the lack of these simple features is astounding. If these aren't built I am totally leaving Evernote forever. These features should be easy, based on my obvious visibility into your code and roadmap. I could churn it out in 5.4 nanoseconds myself. I know your team works hard and has a lot of requests. You guys are doing a great job! And I hope you can get to my features. And I hope if I empathize with you, you'll feel a sudden obligation to keep me happy. If you build these for me, I'll totally be your biggest fan ever and tell my friends/family/strangers about Evernote (note: adult version of "If you do this I'll be your best friend!"). I would totally pay more for these features if that shows you how valuable and a priority these features should be (so long as any pay increase is purely hypothetical). I will try to be funny and appear like I'm not trying to motivate you / make thinly veiled threats, in the real hope that - er, never mind on this one. Cheers, xmasmoneky (sic)
  24. I installed the newest versions of Evernote on my Mac Pro (Sierra) and iPad & iPhone (iOS 10.2) and when I take a picture and update Evernote, a new note with the correct title shows up, but not the picture I took. To be more specific, photos do not show up at all on the laptop, and only in the preview pane on the iPad. The title shows up, and date stamp, but no photo. Can you help me with this? Please see partial screenshot below. "Note" should contain a photo of lyrics, but contains nothing. The note title "Checks" contains nothing, either. If it's any kind of clue, the EN icons for all devices show a red circled "2" but there's no immediate indication in the apps what I am presumably being notified of. TYVM.
  25. Hi All Quick one - for some reason can't find the shortcut to quickly toggle to the add tag box. I.e. to quickly add a tag when you're typing in a note without having to use the mouse to move the cursor up to the tags box. What is it? (see attached screenshot for example...!) Can't seem to find it here https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313358-Keyboard-shortcuts-in-Evernote-for-Mac... Best Charlie
