  1. I've tried entering in the account email address and Evernote email addresses and the recipient does not receive an email invitation. I've tried sending a message, sharing a note from my primary notebook, moving the note to a shared notebook and sharing the notebook, and sharing the note from that same shared notebook. I'm not sure what I'm missing to get this working. I'm primarily using the Android app (which is up to date) for my Evernote usage. Thanks!
  2. Hi! Workchat isn't picking my profile picture both on my end and the other end. It only shows a gray icon. Profile picture has been setup correctly in my account. Fokke
  3. When I try and chat a note to my wife, it says I can't chat with myself. My wife used to not have her own account so I would sign into my account on her Android phone and I'm thinking that this is what caused the problem. Now she has her own account which she is signed into, but I can't work chat notes to her by typing in the email address associated with her Evernote account. This bug only occurs on my Nexus 6 running the latest version of Evernote and on the Web App (Beta). The Windows application works fine and we can chat. I can trick it by entering HerEmail+whatever@gmail.com since Gmail will still route it to her email and ignores the +whatever, but I would still like to figure this out.
  4. Hi all, Since the work chat has been introduced I am a little totally confused with the sharing feature. Many of my notebooks are shared with individuals. Formerly I could manage them all in the Permissions sheet. Now I open the permission sheet and after a click on "Share Notebook…" it disappears and the work chat windows opens. This is where I get lost! Do I start now chatting with a new person? Where came all the contacts in the list from? Do I have to start at the top of the window or just enter a new name at the bottom of the window? Even I have shared now 5-10 new people since the feature was introduced, I can't memorize that! To Evernote: I now, you're working very hard to improve your tool. But combining these two features is not that natural that you may thought first. Please fix that! Thanks Frank
  5. Hi all, We released Evernote for iOS 7.7.10 this morning, and it should be available to everyone in the App Store shortly. As always, please let us know what you think. Cheers! PS: If you are running iOS 9 Beta and encounter issues, please leave feedback on this thread: iOS 9 - Main thread.
  6. As the subject line says, I can't find where to create/access a Work Chat from within the Android app. All the guides say "Tap ‘Work Chat’ from the side menu", but my app doesn't even have a side menu. There are no customary 3 bars on the left beside the "Evernote" title. I've checked every sub-menu, screen, icon.... there's no Work Chat, nor any speech bubble icons. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  7. When someone shares a note with me using chat, I receive a notification in Evernote with a link. Clicking on the link shows me the note. Question: Where does this note live? I can't find it in any of my notebooks. Where is it? I would have thought it would be in my default notebook, but no. Anybody help please?
  8. I have a note that I share with four people. At the top of the note it indicates "You are editing a note that is shared with 4 people". I can click on the "4 people" hyperlink and see the individuals that are sharing the note (screenshot attached). Ultimately, I am trying to change who I am sharing this note with. However, when I go to Permissions, I get an error message: "Can't open permissions. Nothing to see here! Permissions control view and edit access for shared notes, but this note isn't shared with anyone". It's shared, but I can't remove the people that it's shared with because it doesn't recognize the note as being shared. And I have confirmed with the four individuals that it is shared with that they are seeing the updates to the note, so they definitely are sharing the note. All I want to do is remove all sharing from this (and other) notes but it is not recognizing that the notes are shared. This is happening with all of my shared notes, unfortunately. Ever since this "Work Chat" feature was implemented, this has been broken. Very frustrating.
  9. I used to be able to send a copy of a note to an email address. Following the last Android update, this feature appears to be gone. Selecting the menu item "Send to e-mail address" simply initiates a Chat, sending a link to the note, rather than a full copy of the note, to the email address entered. So basically the "Send to e-mail address" and the "Share" menu items now seem to do exactly the same thing. Has this feature gone away or am I doing something wrong?
  10. I'm trying to share notes and notebooks with friend but non shows up in his chat. nothing also showed in my chat when he sent note to me. I'm following every step from tutorial but cant seem to get it to work. I sent him first notes 3 days ago so my and his Evernote app had time to sync with servers.
  11. In the spirit of all the negative sentiments expressed on the Mac forum, https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/73743-how-to-turn-off-work-chat/ I would like to reiterate the same request here, with the aggravation that I'm running EN on a Samsung phone. To see the HUGE Work Chat icon right next to the search icon, and to have the Work Chat feature rammed down my throat ABOVE All Notes is EXTREMELY IRRITATING. What makes you think that I'll even use this feature? Thank you.
  12. I've shared a note via work chat with a few colleagues. Is there a way for them save that note into their notes section instead of having to go through the chat to get to it?
  13. I've read dozens of posts and articles about sharing but can't find an answer to a simple question. I want to 'share' a note with another Evernote user (ideally with all of my Tags). Once they receive it I want it to be theirs, not tied back to me. I want them to be able to edit it, tag it and move it to another notebook just like any note they created. I've tried sharing via Work Chat. The other party receives the chat, but the shared notes are imprisioned in a walled off area and can't be moved to other notebooks etc. This seems so basic. Please tell me what I am missing Many Thanks Ken
  14. I have an iPhone 4 and I'm still using iOS 6 because of several problems with the updated software. The old evernote app doesn't support work chats and so I don't get notifications when someone posts something in a work chat. Is there anyway I could get a notification via email or sms or something when someone replies to my chat?
  15. I wonder, does anyone know how it might be to use work chat to give comments and discuss with students in their shared notebooks? I am a premium user and have shared class notebooks with my classes, then shared another with editing rights with each of my students, and I have wanted to be able to just hit "like" or say "great, go ahead" or more, when I see they have uploaded something or are on their way with an assignment. Is Work chat my answer? I am testing it out with a few already but am not sure how it works, really. Anyone else tried this? I also wonder WHY Evernote does not automatically find the person I am sharing the note with as I click 'share' and choose email or, as of lately, 'chat' - wouldn't that person be the obvious default choice? Instead, unless the person's address is in my contact list (and honestly I'm not sure which one of my contact databases it is the program accesses...I am on my work computer, but it seems to be my google contacts) - I have to type in the address from memory or look it up. Just slightly annoying as is seems a simple thing to offer - maybe it isn't.
  16. Hi, I had a couple of work chats in the Mac version to try the feature out. I deleted them, but they are still showing up in the Web Beta, and there seems to be no way of deleting them there. Am I missing something? Thanks!
  17. I loaded up the new Evernote Update, interested to see what the new chat feature was like. What I expected is a chat capability that would automatically include people from my Evernote Business account. That was not there. Not only was it not there, there was no option to populate in accordance with the EB account. On top of that, there was no option to start a chat from the EB roster under our business tab. Am I missing something? This doesn't make sense, especially since Evernote has been advertizing this feature as "work chat." This makes even less sense to me given what Evernote chat does have. Evernote chat has ever-present options to connect Evernote chat to Outlook and Gmail (not EB contacts). I'm sorry, but Evernote does not need access to my business' Outlook or Gmail contacts. There is a LOT more information in Outlook than just email addresses for chat. I'm not comfortable with that option at all. Making matters worse, as the admin for our business's EB account, I can't disable Evernote chat (or that Outlook import option) so that our employees are unable to grant EB access to our business Outlook. I would like to see Evernote chat recognize our own EB users (that just makes sense), and I want more admin control over what access EB has to other programs with contacts. Thanks.
  18. Sharing a single note in the iOS work chat works fine - a little icon is in the chat with the name of the note. I thought I could share in the same way a notebook: first select a notebook, than the chat icon - but nothing happens, only the "normal" text message without any icon appears
