  1. When I try to share a note from a unshared or shared notebook to a user that I have already shared different notes with in the past, the link to the newly shared note is suppose to appear in the work chat room that already exists, but instead, it always create a new work chat room. And in that re-created new work chat room, I'm able to post messages, but it's not sent to the other user that's in the room. And in my re-created new work chat room where there suppose to be a timestamp for each messages, it'll just say "...". Also, most of the time the link to the newly shared note is not sent to the user who is suppose to receive the link. But that user can access the note if they go look for it by themselves. The issues above occurred in both Windows10 and Windows7. OS: Windows10 Pro 1709 Build: 16299.248 Evernote for Windows: 6.11.2.7027 (307027) Public (CE Build ce-43.0.4829)
  2. I have Evernote Premium. Sometimes I hit the send button and realize after the fact that my work chat has mistakes in it. I'd love to see a feature where we could edit it. The ability to archive work chats would be wonderful, too. Thanks for any consideration!
  3. I received a note from another user thorugh work chat and now I cannot erase it. I even changed the settings so no one else can see the note, including the person who shared the note with me. If I cannot erase it because the note belongs to someone else, at least I want to not see it any more. The delete opcion is blocked. How can I take out this note from my list of notes. I can hide it, but really I want to delete.
  4. I have a work chat discussion that I no longer wish to see in my Evernote notebook. I cannot seem to delete it and I do not know how to leave the chat.
  5. 1. I've searched the forums for this first issue, and have found nothing more recent than 2015. The help and learning pages I've found haven't covered it. I'm on a Mac using the app. When I have a work chat open, I can see the avatar of my co-worker. Mine is the generic grey silhouette. I do have a profile pic loaded, and it does show up elsewhere. How can I get it to show in the chat window? 2. Is there a way to see in Chat whether someone is logged in, as in Google Hangouts? I only know someone is there when they slide a comment in. How can I tell they have the chat open on their side? Thanks.
  6. My team and I are just beginning to coordinate our work on EN. We've moved over from Google Docs and I'm not sure how similar the system is. I've poked around the documentation on the site but came up empty on some things. A few questions: When my coworker and I (both on Mac Airs, up to date with Sierra and the latest EN version) were both logged in and on Work Chat, I created a new note in our shared notebook. Should she have seen that in progress as I was creating and writing in it, or is there a Save feature that effectively publishes it for her eyes? In Google Docs, for example, I can see her typing. In Work Chat, I wanted to share a screenshot with her. I couldn't find the function for adding that image file to our conversation. How do I do that? Then I tried to share the file (the screenshot) on a new note instead. I opened a note in the shared notebook, gave it a title, and dragged the screenshot I was trying to share into it. On the left column of notes, the image showed up as part of the note. In the main page, the note had only the title - no visible file. I opened the note in its own window, and again - no screenshot. Help me out here? Thanks.
  7. Hello! I recently joined Evernote for the sole purpose of communicating with my school via work chat through Evernote. Ever since I joined a week or so back I have not been able to send work chats but I have been able to receive them. I have tried using the android app, the internet on my phone and an actual computer. None of these things have worked and have all appeared with the same error: message cannot be sent. I really need this to be able to communicate with my class. Can anyone help? Thank you for your time.
  8. I use work chat to communicate with my employee. When I receive a chat back from her, I don't hear any sound? Is there a way to turn on sound?
  9. i want to create a work chat with my friend in China, but she even can't see the message I send to her, what can I do?
  10. I wish Evernote would learn from Quip, which has Chat built into every document, so it’s easy to discuss, revise, and reach a final decision in one place. This makes collaboration WAY more effective. Right now work chat between my 2 colleagues is just one long history of everything we've ever chatted about or worked on, with no context/connection to the actual notes we were collaborating on.
  11. I primarily use the web client and often use the work chat. Also, very many of my notes are lists, so the information is primarily on the left side of the note. This is a problem when I use work chat because the work chat window is slightly too big so that it covers some of the note. It's very difficult to have a work chat about the note I'm viewing when the work chat window is covering the information on my note. A simple fix would be to allow the work chat window to be resized. Also, simply extending the width of the menu on the left to cause the note to start farther to the right would also fix this issue. In general, the inability to resize elements makes the web client difficult to use.
  12. Once I receive a Shared Note via Work Chat - is there any way I can get an Alias/Link to it from within my OWN Notebook structure, without having to go to Work Chat to get to it OR without having to make a COPY (which detaches any kind of collaboration/updates)? i.e. I would like to have a "virtual" Note created, within one of my own Notebook structure, that when I click on it, takes me directly to that Shared Note that came from the Work Chat.
  13. Hi Evernote Community – I have recently persuaded a colleague to download Evernote on his Windows machine. My Premium Account Evernote is installed on a MacBook... Each time I initiate a Chat, he never receives my messages. Not even any items that I share with him. When he initiates, I receive the message listed as 'An Evernote User'. Could you help please? Many thanks!
  14. I can no longer access any work chats prior to Jan 1st of this year. Please help.
  15. I've tried entering in the account email address and Evernote email addresses and the recipient does not receive an email invitation. I've tried sending a message, sharing a note from my primary notebook, moving the note to a shared notebook and sharing the notebook, and sharing the note from that same shared notebook. I'm not sure what I'm missing to get this working. I'm primarily using the Android app (which is up to date) for my Evernote usage. Thanks!
  16. This is in General Discussions because it affects both EN Web (new version) and EN Windows 5.9.3 - plus email, Work Chat, Basic and Premium. Long story short, I needed a new Basic account because I planned a public share for some specific information, and wanted it 'branded' in a particular way. Set that up via Evernote.com, but obviously didn't download any software because I already have my main Premium account and a couple of others installed on the one machine. I know I can switch between accounts pretty easily, but I need to create some notes in premium and copy to the other account, so it would be easier (I thought) to share at least one notebook from basic to premium. I duly set up share for one notebook and sent the invite to the email address connected to the premium account. I've done this before (though not recently) and it worked fine. So I switched back to the main account and waited for the email or a Share notification. Nothing. I waited some more. Nada. Checked spam folders, other email addresses and the premium account. Nil and Zero. Hmmn. Maybe I screwed up. Back to the web account, unshare the notebook (yes, the email address was correct) and try again. Waiting... and now it's lunch time. Went away for an hour. Came back. See various checks above - nothing, nada, nil and zero. Perhaps 'share' isn't working from the web (new version) account. Can't be bothered to switch back and try again, so I switched from premium to basic on the computer*. Unshared and shared again from there. Still nothing after another hour of checking. (* Since I'm on both ends of this share I can set up the new account without any problems.) OK I didn't need the invite anyway since I'm controlling both sides of this - but it would be nice to know what happened. There's nothing in my Activity log on the premium account about the share or any chat invites. However: View > Work Chat shows all of the Share messages of which I had no notifications at all. I know email invites don't get issued for the 2nd share, but first time around I didn't get any emails from this brand new account, and in no case did I get any alerts from the application. So. I'm set up and working now, but Work Chat as it applies to sharing notebooks seems to be a bit broken. If you're sharing with someone it would be a good idea to ask them (by separate email) to check the Work Chat window if they don't receive any notification - they'll likely find the invite there. Feature request: More bells and whistles (literally!) when a share invitation is received. And please fix this!
  17. When I try and chat a note to my wife, it says I can't chat with myself. My wife used to not have her own account so I would sign into my account on her Android phone and I'm thinking that this is what caused the problem. Now she has her own account which she is signed into, but I can't work chat notes to her by typing in the email address associated with her Evernote account. This bug only occurs on my Nexus 6 running the latest version of Evernote and on the Web App (Beta). The Windows application works fine and we can chat. I can trick it by entering HerEmail+whatever@gmail.com since Gmail will still route it to her email and ignores the +whatever, but I would still like to figure this out.
  18. Work chat would be far more functional and collaborative if chats could be tied to specific notebooks. We work collaboratively on multiple notebooks and the general work chat feature is chaotic and counterproductive for true collaboration. I would imagine that it would only take some minor tweaking by the developer to modify an existing function into a more efficient capability. It would be nice to hear that this is something in progress.......
  19. I go to sign in to the Work Chat and choose the Google contacts. I then log into my Google account and the screen pops up for one second that has the allow button then all of evernote crashes and I have to re-open the program.
  20. I recently set up my Evernote account but for some reason I'm unable to receive notebooks from anyone. The work chats part of it works fine and I've tried getting notebooks from multiple other users. They just come through in work chats. Any suggestions?

  22. As the subject line says, I can't find where to create/access a Work Chat from within the Android app. All the guides say "Tap ‘Work Chat’ from the side menu", but my app doesn't even have a side menu. There are no customary 3 bars on the left beside the "Evernote" title. I've checked every sub-menu, screen, icon.... there's no Work Chat, nor any speech bubble icons. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  23. When someone shares a note with me using chat, I receive a notification in Evernote with a link. Clicking on the link shows me the note. Question: Where does this note live? I can't find it in any of my notebooks. Where is it? I would have thought it would be in my default notebook, but no. Anybody help please?
  24. I'm trying to share a notebook via workchat with another Evernote user (one who I had successfully shared notebooks before prior to workchat). When I start the chat to share the notebook, they never get notification of the chat nor any email notification that a chat has started. If they start the chat, I get a notification from a number (not an email address or a name). The other person only uses Windows and the web interface. I'm unsure where my request is going, but they definitely aren't receiving it. I have a premium account, they have a free account. As an aside, I really don't know what its become so involved to simply share a notebook via workchat. Used to be so easy.
  25. I'm having a discussion on some notes with an outside contractor through Work Chat. I want to add a coworker to the ongoing conversation so he also has access to the conversation and the already shared notes. I have no way to add a new person to the chat. The contractor started the chat but also has no "add person" or "+1" button to add someone else. We ended up starting a new work chat with the three of us, re-sharing the already shared notes and effectively loosing all prior communication from the previous chat. Is there a better way for this in Work Chat? Frank
