  2. Hi Evernote, it would be great if there was an option to show word count somewhere on the mobile app. I have recently started using Evernote for report writing on the iPad and it seems like a simple feature, but it would be a very useful one. At the moment, the only workaround is to copy and paste into something like Pages to get word count, but that is clunky. The desktop app has a statistics window, maybe the mobile app could show word count in the note details pop up when the little 'i' is pressed in the top right corner. Regards, Sam
  3. This would be a great feature for writers!
  4. As a writer, I often use Evernote web to create drafts. It would be nice to have a word count feature. I know this feature is available in the Windows version, but it would be great to have it in the web version as well!
  5. what I would find incredibly helpful is ability to do word count of sections rather than the whole note - i.e. whatever's highlighted. I can do this manually if I cut and paste each section in a new note and word count there, but it's an unwieldy solution to something commonplace with word for example.
  6. Hi there, I'm a professional writer with a suggestion: Add a word-count feature. Simple, useful. Necessary for anyone who writes for a living. Right now I still have to use MS Word and create my own folder and filing system to match the one I use for Evernote. For example, if I'm reporting a story about Bears, I have to save my drafts in Word on my desktop, and have a corresponding Bears notebook in Evernote. If Evernote had a wordcount function I'd store everything in Evernote. Google Docs, I think, has this function, but the Google Docs interface is clunky and no intuitive. Evernote would gain a lot of writers by adding word count function, I think. Especially since it's easy to create local notebooks for people who don't want their stuff to live in the cloud. This is the one thing that's stopping me from essentially using Evernote more than any other app besides my browsers and email. Hope to see it soon. PS - I am a premium member and am happy to pay for this function.
  7. Please inform me if there is or there is not a word count in the iOS version of Evernote. I am AWARE that there is on the MAC version but I am currently using my iPad and iPhone and need to see a word count if possible. Let me know if it exists. Using ios 6.12 for iPad and iOS 7 on iPhone. Thanks
  8. Hi, I am contemplating between purchasing a Kindle or Sony e-Reader. The Sony has the advantage of Evernote. For me, a writer, I need the capability to write on the go, when I have only my e-Reader with me. Will the Evernote allow typing text up to 5000 words at a time (short stories)? Will this feature be enables with the version installed on the Sony PRS-T2 ? Is Evernote compatible with any other e-Reader (e.g Kindle Paperwhite or Nook)? Thank you, Etand
  9. OK. Three Issues I'm having, despite general love of EN. First: So I've got a notebook with maybe 20 notes in it. It's for a big trip with many legs, hotel stays, tickets, etc. Listing my notes by title, date, or alphabetically means the stuff gets out of order chronologically. i.e. the "Angola Flight info" note falls before the "Zanzibar flight info" notebook, when in fact Angola is the last part of the trip and Zanzibar the first. Being an org freak, I decided to number my notebooks chronologically. i.e. 1. Zanzibar flight 2. Zanzibar hotel 3. Dinner with friend downtown and so on... Simple, right? NO! Evernote only lists the numbers 1 - 9. When you type in "10" it reads it like it's reading the alphabet and sticks it after the number "1". Meaning to go past "9" you have to use a format such as 9a, 9b etc. Evernote chat support told me this is just how it is. Seriously!? Second: On the desktop app, you can bold, ital, underline, add links, etc: Why no highlighting? Esp when you can do it on the web site, like this? Third: Ditto word count or for that matter adding comments or viewing corrections. If Evernote added this stuff they could put MS Word out of biz. I'd literally use it for everything. Seems like an easy feature to add, given the other much greater and more high-caliber features, no?
  10. I know I can get a word count for each note, but I'd like to know if I could get a word count for an entire notebook. I have a notebook I started for NaNoWriMo and let's just say adding up the notes over and over is getting tiring. Is there anyway to get a total count? Thanks, Michele
  11. Hi, Thanks for releasing the word/character count feature. However, it does not allow us to do a count for text selections We need our copywriter to be able to quickly check how many characters our title, headings, and ads consume, but the current system would require us to use a separate note for each of these items which is not practical. Will Evernote be releasing a character/word count feature for selected text in the near future? Thanks!
