  1. Hi guys! I've been having some trouble with spotty internet connection as of late (i.e. goes out for 30 seconds, is back, a minute, is back etc.) I primarily use Evernote Web as I am often pasting in screenshots and pictures. The issue is that when my wifi drops and then comes back evernote deletes everything I did whilst the wifi was out - I think this is because it constantly syncs, and when wifi is restored it goes back to the last sync? Is there a way to turn off continue sync, so it only happens when I want it to? I've lost a lot of university notes in the last few days and have had to retype things. I do have premium but that doesn't seem to be any help. I know I could just use evernote on my desktop but then I have to go back and add all my pictures later - which is sort of pointless, and I much prefer the web aesthetic. Thanks!
  2. I use the free edition. I was on my Samsung with both data and WiFi turned off. I tried to read a note in one of my folders. I did not realize both were turned off. So when it told me it did not have either access, I immediately turned my WiFi on. However, when I clicked on the note in the notebook I was wanting to open the whole note had been replaced by my network providers error screen from the internet. I tried everything I could think of to try to get my note back but it did not work. I then went out to my Evernote on my PC to see if I could recover it there. Unfortunately, EN had already updated and the error screen now populates all three of my Evernotes. My PC version, my android version and my internet version. So what can I do to get my note back and why did it do this in the first place? I can understand not allowing access with WiFi and data turned off but why was there and error message when I turned my WiFi back on. The error said the site trying to be reached was not valid. The only site that it should have been trying to reach is the one that allows my EN data to now be synced with my device. So because apparently the syncing site was not available it used whatever site that was being delivered by my internet provider to read into the note. It did not append it to the note but actually overwrote the note. HELP! Thanks Dave
  3. Hello, I want to not show the EN menulet, as it is taking up too much space along with some others I want to get rid of. I use LaunchBar, and it can easily shove stuff into EN, but the app must be open, and it brings it to the foreground. This is bad on a couple levels, though I am pretty sure i could shove it in the background by editing the script. However, with the cell phone companies being so rediculous with bandwidth, I can't afford to just fire up EN and have have it start syncing. I will blow through my data plan in a day. I need to make sure I am on a wifi network for stuff like that. When I make a new note with the minute, does it just write a file to a folder somewhere that EN looks at and then adds when you launch the app?
  4. Owned a Doxie Go for some time and love this little portable battery powered scanner. It goes with me everywhere. For those of us who own and registered this product we appear to have an unbeatable offer! The new Doxie Go Wifi list price is $229, but we get if for $149. Just ordered mine along with the case as I keep turning mine on accidentally in my bag. http://www.getdoxie.com/info/products.html Best regards Chris
  5. Hi. I am about to buy a new iPad Air and want to set up a system where I can take handwritten notes in meetings and: 1. have them exported to Evernote 2. allow me to search through those notes from within Evernote. I'm looking at Penultimate mainly, but have a question about syncing. I have seen something in the forums about problems with automatic syncing, but the threads were fairly old. Here's the issue - I want to take the handwritten notes in an iPad app while I'm not connected to wifi - but then later in the day (when I am connected to wifi) sync those notes to Evernote. And then have them be searchable in Evernote. Is this a problem with Penultimate. I saw an earlier thread that was complaining about problems with automatic syncing when there was no wifi available - is this still a problem? And if so, is there a better handwriting app that would allow me to do what I want? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer. I really appreciate it. Frank
  6. We ordered a new Scanner when Evernote tech support and I determined the first one we got wouldn't connect wirelessly. New scanner has exact same issue. Scanner works fine via USB. Whne it connects to our network it then becomes invisible to my Macbook. Only works connected. Scansnap application keeps shutting itself down once scanner is connected to the network. Nice bright green light with an active good IP. When I run diag, application says connection to the wan is fine. I ran through all of the usual install, un-install, stood on my head, aluminum foil hats and cursing but none of those worked. Is it possible that the scanner just isn't going to work wirelessly with my computer? BTW OSX 10.8.5
  7. I can get the wifi to work on my Scansnap Evernote edition software and scanner. Followed the instructions, used the wifi set-up tool and everything seemed to work. When I unplugged the USB cord, the wifi stopped.
  8. Hi I don't know if anyone has any bright ideas about this but it's driving me crazy. I'm using an iMac with Mavericks which in all respects is working perfectly. I also use a MacBook Pro and an iPad Air (iOS7), all these devices run Evernote and all connect to the same wireless router. The problem is with the iPad, it works absolutely fine with all other applications but when I use Evernote it almost immediately disconnects from the WiFi and will not reconnect, I just get the dreaded cannot connect message. I've tried deleting the network and reinstating it, i've tried removing the network and resetting it. Been through the switch on airplane mode, shut down and then start up again route but still I'm unable to reconnect the WiFi. Whilst all these connection problems are going on the iMac and MacBook continue to work normally so the WiFi is there and the broadband is working just fine but something is left hanging which prevents the iPad connecting again. All I can do is reset the router itself and then the iPad will reconnect, but will after a very short time drop the connection again. Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Q
