  1. I just installed the Evernote app onto my Samsung Galaxy S3, and I am looking for the widget to show the task list on my workspace. In the list of widgets, the only Evernote widget available is the Evernote Shortcut. How do I access the actually useful widgets?
  2. I know saved searches will show on the Android app, but is there a way to create a shortcut to these to drag to the home screen, like you could do for a note? Any workaround?
  3. This has happened a few times - partly the design of the keyboard and interface, partly big fingers, and a huge part of the way the system has been created. Trying to figure out a way around it since I've lost a few posts now. - Hit + through the widget. - Start writing new note. Life is great - yay productivity! A few sentences go by (this point is important). - Accidentally hit the home button at bottom of the screen, gently curse - Hitting the widget returns me back (I think the main Evernote widget, not the + ) - I keep writing. - Eventually I head over to my desktop to finish up the post. Make sure it's synced up, keep writing (so the post was saved to the hub / EN servers) - Time goes by. Plants are watered, trips are completed. - Time to write! - I hit the + widget to start a new note offline. The original partly (just a few sentences) completed note appears instead of at least the mostly completed version but more importantly a new note. - I try to get rid of said note. No option to. I want to have the newest version - I connect and sync. Nothing changes. My heart stops beating. - Suddenly I run to my desktop - old note has now overwritten the new note. What I think is happening is that when there's a note that's started with the widget and you exit out of it there's a backup somewhere. Then when you open it back up again it pulls that version up. Pulling that version up automatically saves it so NOW it's the newest version. Sync and screwed. If I ran to the newest version of it and opened it up before I connected online then it should have been OK, but just by having it open even though I didn't edit it dooms the newest version to overwrite hell. I wish It did version controls like Google Docs/Drive - that way at least you could roll back a version in case these sort of syncing issues happen. Looks like I'm not the only one that something like this has happened to regardless of app or platform. And Premium only helps with deleted notes - not overwrites so the same problem is possible. Conflicted versions only happen occasionally - actually haven't seen one yet in this scenario. I also don't think it's a bug - but it's not a good feature either and one that stops me from using it for everything. [Edit] Under more exploration the problem is with that "+" option in the widget. It seems to save it differently than a normal note and will always bring up the last version that wasn't closed - not a new note.
  4. Hi I really could use the following widgets that show content (and I think everyone can). A single note widget (scalable) for a e.g. todo-lists. A resizeable scrollable widget that list multiple notes (widget like e.g. mail and google reader): With option for titles only, first line, all lines. With selection for notes from books or with labels. With a sort order that can be configured. And a button to change settings for that widget.
  5. I haven't been to the forum in quite a while. I sort of got tired of asking for a common-sense layout to the android tablet version of Evernote and being ignored. Not to mention the space-stripping bug that was first reported LAST OCTOBER that still exists whenever you use an android mobile client to edit a note created on the PC client. Itmakes random sentences inyourwriting look like this and it savesthese errors, causing a proofreading nightmare. You have added dozens of new features without fixing THE PRIMARY REASON MOST PEOPLE RUN A FRIGGIN' NOTE TAKING SOFTWARE IN THE FIRST PLACE! I said five months ago that the moment that bug was fixed I would buy a permanent subscription account. No bug fix = no cash. I just HAD to come back and ask whether or not any of the developers actually INSTALLED and RAN the latest version of the android widget on ANY tablets before they released it? There's a simple statement: if it isn't broken, don't fix it. I searched the forums pretty thoroughly and I don't see even ONE person asking for a new widget for android. We were happy with the old one. It did what we wanted it to do. There have been THREE messages posted in the forums asking for features to be ADDED to the widget. That was enough to make you drop everything and rewrite it from scratch while ignoring existing bugs, huh? Now my latest update to Evernote on my transformer tablet says it doesn't work with the widget I've been happily using for almost a year. Fine, I'll install a new one and change my workflow at the whim of a developer. Except that it won't download and won't install. Then I look at the comments and reviews and find seven one-star reviews from the last day or so complaining about the new widget on tablets. And then I come back to the forum and find that instead of clearly delineated forum links, now we're using a tag cloud. There are these things called NEURONS, they are in your SKULL and you need to use them occasionally. You are making random changes for the sake of random change. Does any other forum on the web function like this? No? Why is that, do you think? Heck, I've been moderating message boards since FidoNet in 1991 and I've never seen a forum setup like this. Nor am I interested in taking the time to learn to use it. Evernote has made me relearn things I have already learned to do perfectly fine WAYYYYYY too many times. Was there some major reason you felt it was necessary to leave behind the perfectly good topic tree organizational structure that everyone who has ever used the web for more than eight minutes is familiar with? Actually, you know what? I don't care. This is a stupid, nonintuitive, grabasstic and disorganized forum layout and as a result of it I know at least one user that will not be bothering to use it in the future. If it is BROKEN, you may FIX it. If it is NOT, leave it ALONE! I'll put it bluntly. I've written 83,000 words of a novel in Evernote. I use it on a pretty much hourly basis. And I'm about to delete the dang thing completely off of every platform I use-- my PC, my phone, and my tablet. Obviously, I not only can't trust the developers to leave my workflow alone so I can be efficient, but I also can't trust them to FIX what is actually broken. By the way, I've never rolled back to a previous version of an android app before, so THANK you Evernote, for the time it's going to take me to research how to do that, just so I can get my widget back. That's my precious writing time you are stealing from me, so if you can't understand why I'm pi$$ed then go back to the top and read this again. ~D.
  6. Has anyone installed the EverNote widget on their Home Screen? I like it alot, esp. how I can make audio Notes instantly, with just one tap!
  7. I'd like to make a feature request related to Evernote Widget: It would be nice to have an option to view related notes in the widget as a list, with the vertical widget scroll feature available in most launchers (and I believe built into the stock ICS launcher) supported. This would allow viewing of more than the 3 notes that are currently visible per-page on the large widget, and quickly allow access to the notes we want right from our homescreens.
  8. Really liking the widget. Makes Evernote even useful to me. More widget sizes would be cool. Alternatively, it would be great if, on the launchers that allow resizing, the widget would "fill in" the enlarged space if a note is long enough to require it. But still, the widget is nice!
  9. Hi everyone! I love Evernote and it is the single most used app on my Nexus S. I have a feature request for the 4x2 widget to make Evernote even more awesome Currently the 4x2 widget displays recently accessed notes. However, I believe a little flexibility would help a lot of power users. Firstly, there should be an option to select which notebook appears in the widget. Currently it displays "all notes" but I would prefer to only have notes from my notebook called "Scrapbook" and not from other notebooks such as "Diary" etc. Secondly, there should be an option to pin notes to the widget. The pinned notes would appear first followed by other notes in a chronological, recently opened, or alphabetical order (as selected by user). I hope these are relatively easy features to implement that would be appreciated by many Android users!
  10. Trying to track down what I'm doing wrong.... Transformer Prime with ICS installed: I have Evernote for Android installed, and have downloaded & installed the widget. Pressing on the "Widgets" tab under the "APPS" page shows other widgets available but not the Evernote widget. Going into "Settings" and then "Apps" does show that Evernote Widget is installed. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? TIA!
  11. So I have recently got an android tablet, and also discovered the EN widget. I like the idea of the large widget, that shows the notes, and allows you to scroll through in the notes in chronological order. The only problem that I have with that is that I don't really want some notes to show. I would prefer to have some specific notes that show. Maybe it could be determined by a saved search/tag etc...i.e. only notes with a specific tag would show? I understand that you can have shortcuts but I like being able to see some text of the note in the note. Anyway... Loving EN for Android at the moment. Scott
  12. Hi, I'm using Evernote for the Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology. On my PC I just click on the icon in the tray, enter the todo that came into my mind and it will be saved into the Evernote's Inbox. On my Android phone I have the widget on my screen which will show me the things I have to do. The only problem I have is that the widget will show the last three notes of all notebooks. Therefore I don't have a view on all the things I have to do from my inbox. Is there a possibility to display all notes in a specific notebook (my inbox) in the widget? Frank
