  1. I would like a view that shows only text that I have highlighted. This 'highlighted text view' should allow me to copy only the highlighted text. I would use this view for an even more concise version of a note. I did search the forum and did not find this suggestion.
  2. On this page: http://mashable.com/2016/12/11/trump-queen-photoshops-terrifying/#.n7pRtTSNmqH No matter how I try to clip the page, either "whole page" or "article", it's not saving the photos. I find myself always having to verify the page in evernote web everytime I save something, because I don't trust this tool to capture the actual page. Is this a known problem?
  3. Evernote is great...but it's driving me mad with silly little issues that should just not be happening. In the web-editor - Copy and paste - even within a note - keeps losing the font of the text. I'm using Chrome to access to web editor. I open a note. Most of my text seems to be in Gotham font, size 14. I don't know why... that seems to be the default. Can't change it anyway. I copy that Gotham 14 text - seems to only happen when I've got multiple lines - ie. including a carriage return. Move the cursor somewhere else. Paste it. Evernote turns that into: Some Gotham 14 text Some text in a different font - which says "Font, tT" in the menu bar at the top...ie. it doesn't really have a font....but it's not Gotham 14. Looks like it might be Verdana - but it's not the same size as any of the ones you can select yourself...slightly bigger than Gotham 14 Some more Gotham 14 text I don't know why it's changing the font, and why it's just some of it. Sounds like it's something to do with the carriage return/newline / multi-line text. So every single time I copy and paste - which is quite a bit - I have to go and put the formatting back....really annoying! I would quite happily change all my notes to whatever that odd font is if it's going to keep changing text to that font - but you can't as it doesn't have a name! Is anyone else getting the same? Seems to have started a month or two ago. Screenshot hopefully showing the issue. Repeatable - happens everytime. I hope Evernote starts fixing some of these basic text formatting issues soon otherwise it's going to drive me away...we shouldn't be having problems with basic text handling..
  4. I'm getting back to Evernote after sometime away and trying to reorient myself. I'm mostly using the web version, on Chrome and/or Firefox. I can't figure out how to expand my viewing of the notebooks to fullscreen, or even just to widen that window, the way you can expand a note to fullscreen. Some of my notebooks have a bunch of notes within them and I'd like to be able to quickly glance over the contents of the notebook. How do you view a notebook fullscreen?
  5. I've noticed that over the years the web product (and windows desktop) products have become slower and slower to use. It might be related to the number of notes I have but it has caused all tasks to take just a little too long. If I try to open a note it takes just long enough for me to almost forget what I'm doing. (insert sarcastic comment about being old) Or it takes so long to add/remove a tag that I go off to another tab. Overall the performance of the tools is becoming frustratingly slow and I would appreciate some attention on this issue. Anyone else noticing that it's not as fast as it used to be?
  6. I much prefer the interface on the web for Evernote. The Mac OS version is not as good, though it may be more feature intensive. I find the web version to be cleaner, easier to look at, has some cool functions like switching to "full screen" when writing or editing a note. All in all, I'd be much happier using that version on the Mac side than the current version of Evernote for Mac. By the way, I'm a Premium user.
  7. It would be great if fonts used in web-version of published notes had support for Cyrillic characters (moreover, they have to be international — you have users from all over the world). Otherwise, web-notes look ugly and it makes web-publishing feature not so useful — I don’t want to share ugly notes with my colleagues or partners. Take a look at a screenshot I attached. It indeed looks ugly because of mix of fonts. Especially when there's such a mix in one sentence. I'm pretty sure that this feature (publishing a note to web) is one of good ways of new users acquisition for you, so I think it worth spending just a little time searching for good international fonts. I hope you will take this feedback into account and do something with it. Best regards, Your User
  8. I have been using Evernote for many years (web version), but for the first time ever I have had note updates disappear. I had accessed Evernote from my work computer yesterday, all the changes had logged as saved, but when I accessed the note again at home none of the changes were there. I followed through the help guide (restarted my computer, cleared cookies/history, etc.) but no luck. Help?
  9. Evernote Web features the font type 'Gotham', but this font type is missing in Evernote for Windows. (I am using the latest updated client). If the font is not present, then please suggest a similar looking font type for windows client.
  10. Currently, when you copy a notelink and open that link in a web browser, you get a nice looking read-only view of the note. However, there are not easy controls to be able to jump to that same note within the full Evernote web application for editing the note. You simply get a read-only view of the note without being able to do anything with it. The only option is to view all of your notes, so you have to Search to find the note . The feature I would love to see would be to provide a button/link that would allow you to open the note in an editable form. This feature existed on the web view of notes back in 2012. I'm not sure why it was removed. See:
  11. Note: This is not a complaint, it's an observation. I've sent notes through the support email, and haven't seen any changes. So I thought I'd post publicly to see if there were at least a few others who feel the same as I do about Evernote's hodge-podge text editing features. As a cross-platform application, I would hope that Evernote would at least syncronize the user interface between devices and operating systems. I've used all versions, but spend most of my time in iOS (iPhone AND iPad), Web, and Mac. I would say my primary use case is as a work log, brain dump, idea catcher, and anything else that my brain can't deal with right at the moment. So text formatting is NOT something I really want to spend my time fixing. To cut to the chase: Evernote should offer standard outlining structures, so that notes can be stored as structured HTML rather than font size changes. Four levels of headings, paragraph text, larger, smaller, bold, underline, italic, strikethrough, and colours. That would be nice. Oh, other features would be great too, but that's just icing. The iPhone has it sort of right. You can set up Sections, Subsections, and Paragraph text. That works for me. But the Web version. Ick. I start a note and it uses a "standard" font size which is perfect. If I paste stuff from other applications into my note, the font sizes are all out of whack. So I select the text and set it to font size 10pt. Too small. Well, then, font size 12pt. Too large. Why isn't there a "standard font size" selection? I've got more to say, but I'd rather this be a discussion than a monologue. Help!
  12. When I'm searching for a document, it would make it a lot easier to find the right file, if you first can choose a tag and then search only in documents with that tag. Off course I can use the syntax 'tag:' for this. But then I need to know the exact name of the tag. It would be nicer (and quicker) when you first can choose a tag as a filter for searching only documents with that tag. That's how it works in the Android app and Desktop version of Evernote. But not in the web version. Kind regards, Peter Bulthuis
  13. The tables in Evernote are very powerful. However, some of the features available in the Mac and Windows versions are missing in the web version. And MOST of those features are missing in the android version. This is really frustrating. It's not helpful when I have to go to my desktop computer simply because I can't add a column or row to a table on my tablet. This takes away from the usefulness of the tables. All the features should be available on all platforms. Google Sheets on the Android app, so it is possible
  14. Hey guys ! So, I wanted to know : how can I make most efficient use of my 60 mb upload limit when using web and pc client ? Is there any point in using web client if I have the pc one ? What sync settings would be the most optimal to reduce my upload limit ? Maybe some general tips on how to avoid exceeding upload limit ?
  15. Alright...I'm about at my wits end with Evernote now. I don't see how I can keep my membership. I work for a company that doesn't allow installing Evernote, and work on multiple desktops. I use it regularly for my note-taking and I work on several machines (real and VDI in a single day). Evernote is perfect except for the fact that they don't allow highlighting in the classic web version (I won't touch the version because it's too different from the desktop, and I'm looking for simplicity and consistency across devices). That's Evernote in so many ways, So, what's up? Why isn't this implemented. I'm really going to have to discontinue use this year now that I'm relying on cross-platform and web access daily. It's just a real drag and seems so simple to fix. I've seen people asking for this for at least a couple years. Thanks!
  16. I have looked everywhere on the web based Evernote and cannot find a sync key or function. I"m sure it's there — please help. Thanks in advance
  17. The loading of Evernote Web is very slow and problematic. Some things that happen: - Sometimes the loading is finished and the page is not rendered in the browser, and I need to reload the page three or four times to use Evernote. - Sometimes the loading never ends. - Sometimes the loading finishes, and shows the layout, but keeps loading the notes interminably. Systems: Windows 10, Opera 45.
  18. It would be amazing if a Stack could be shared so that all the notebooks in that stack are automatically shared as well rather than having to individually share each notebook. We use Evernote in School, most notebooks are published to the business and everyone can see what they need. However, many notebooks are only for certain users to see and have to be shared out. Stack Sharing would make our Evernote life much better.
  19. I've found a little hint about indentation, so I want to share with. Maybe it's the issue that already explained somewhere else. If so, just ignore my post. There is a difference between hit tab key simply vs. hit tab key with selected line(s). When I take the former way the indentation is applied only the one line, so next line doesn't hold indentation. However, taking the latter way, the indentation was kept on if changing line. This is the same difference between using tab key vs. Ctrl+M key on the version of Windows Client.
  20. I created a table in a note and then, after selecting all, I changed the font to Courier New size 18: However, when creating a new line in the table, either by tabbing or by right-clicking --> Tables --> Insert Row, the new row–whether it's inserted above or below–reverts to the choice of default Note Text font (under the Font tab of the Preferences window): The table should maintain the same font choice from row to row, right? The font also reverts when clicking outside of the table, despite having previously Selected All and changed the font to (in my case) Courier New.
  21. Hello all,, Since I know something that EN devs don't, which is that there are many people anxious about being able to ink existing notes on their notetaking app of choice, I'll cut the long story short but there nonetheless are a couple of things I must write before getting to the focus of my post so bear with me: 1) Evernote for Windows 10 litteraly s***s big time on touch-enabled devices. Both UWP and WIN32 versions of EN are simply not ready for touch. Their interface is clunky and counter-intuitive in that, for one, dragging inside a note with finger/stylus will not scroll but highlight content. Tiny sidebars are a terrible way to implement scrolling, it is impossible to use it with fingers, stylus/pen are recommended but, even with those, just getting to the bottom of a page is frustrating at the least.Text-modification icons are so small that unless one uses a stylus it will invariably be overkill to try and activate the right function. Ditto for note-modification icons: Too small, too close to each other; obtaining the desired result (e.g. trashing a note) upon first attempt is pretty much an hit-and-miss thing. Menus are ridiculous. Impossible to use with a finger. The list goes on but you get the picture... 2) Against any logic Evernote's web interface works much better, it behaves as it should regardless of the fact that it is being handled through finger, stylus, mouse pointer. It offers a set of icons and shortcuts which feels like is has been pondered over and organized with a sense of logic that the standalone app still has to reach to. It is even way faster than the app which probably suffers from bugs related to its underlying code ridden with stuff inherited from previous portings, that nails it down and brings hiccups and undesired behaviours that I personally find unnerving. Yes I have been trying to reinstall, yes I have tried various versions (even betas), but the general slowness and feeling of clunkiness did not go away. 3) I am one of those which thinks that not being able to ink an existing note "à la Onenote" on Evernote is a wasted occasion. As such I have come and gone to/from ON/EN a number of times but never was able to settle as a happy camper. EN cannot ink a file like ON does, but this is pretty much the only aspect in which MS app outshines Evernote, while it is utter ***** in every other aspect. On is ridden with many image scaling, text formatting, general rendering problems that make opening a file with it an unpleasant experience. Don't get me started with ON's syncing woes, all related to OneDrive which never worked since inception etc. etc. All the above said I was still searching for the perfect solution. Enter Microsoft Edge. As you know Edge has got this nifty pen icon which allows you to use a pen/stylus to ink whatever page/file/image Edge can display. Once on a page/image/file simply click on the pen icon and a menu will appear on the upper part of the browser window, to let you write, draw, underline, highlight whatever you want to your heart content. Once you are finished annotating/drawing/underlining/highlighting, simply use the "cut" function to select the area you have modified, copy and paste on your favorite html/pdf/image editor. Save from there and import your file in EN. So simple so nice. Of course this is a workaround but since I have been trying to use a million of those I feel that this is, so far, the fastest way to proceed. Of course (2) you might do the same thing and just paste content onto the Evernote standalone app but, as per above, the standalone app is to this day a botched version of EN's web interface, and the result will be quite disappointing. Your mileage may vary. Hope this helps.
  22. While editing a particular note, and doing lots of big edits at the same time (say replacing a whole lot of data at the same time), suddenly an error message shows up saying "Couldn't save the note [note title]" upon Evernote web, when it automatically tries to save the note. (Screenshot attached) Due to this, I've lost a large chunk of data from that particular note which I edited, as when I reloaded the note, the old data was lost and the new edits were not saved. This issue needs to be fixed. Possible solutions: 1) Either auto-save should be disabled and notes should be saved only if user clicks SAVE button. (Which is quite limiting the already available feature, not recommended) 2) Note edits should be stopped while evernote is trying to save the instance of note over web. (Another limiting solution, not recommended) 3) Note edits should be stored as cache so that even if the data connection (internet connection) is lost or if there is some error in saving the note over web, the data is retained over the web page which the User then can use again for saving the note after solving any saving or syncing error. Is any other solution possible for this problem? I must say, the problem is quite frequent in my case, as there are lots of big edits over one single note from one single login, without stopping for evernote to save the note. Do share your views.
  24. I cannot add or edit tags in this version. I click on the icon and nothing happens. The notebook icon brings ujp the notebook list. Is it a unique problem for me? Fixes?
