  1. Hi from a new user, first time poster. I upgraded to Premium last week, and expected to be able to see Note History for all my existing notes starting from the time I upgraded. However, I seem to only be able to see histories for notes inside new notebooks created after the upgrade. There is no history visible for existing notes, or new notes inside notebooks that existed pre-upgrade. Is that normal, or am I missing something? Is there a way to force the creation of note histories for existing notes/notebooks? If no, what is the recommended strategy for migrating to Premium? Please tell me I don't have to recreate all my notebooks...?! Thanks in advance.
  2. I'm unable to sign up for premium. Every time I put in all my credit card info, the website says that I am not entering in all the required information for the credit card; even though I clearly am. I've tested this on multiple browsers, with multiple credit cards, and also on the windows desktop application. All same result. Looking at the sign-up webpage....it looks like some faulty html code has resulted in a blank space being added in front of all the data entered into the input boxes...possibly causing the website to think no data has been entered. See the attached picture to the error message. I've submitted a trouble ticket. Is there anything else I can do? I really need to annotate some pdfs.
  3. Some newbie questions here. Up front, I have nót installed Evernote desktop yet, being uncertain about the below. I wish to use the Evernote Desktop-version: Q1: is there a Evernote Free version as well ? whilst assuming there is and in case I wish to upgrade from the Evernote Desktop Free to the Premium version Q2. will the data that I have saved in the free version be 'transferred' to the premium version? (or maybe it is the very same data, but some options/features are being 'unlocked' to get to the Premium account version?) If, at one point in time, I would like to return to a free version, what happens with all the data? (a user might have saved way above the free version storage allowance) Important thing for me is to be able to save webpages. Am using Firefox on Windows 7 x64. I think I need the Evernote Web Clipper add-on (Evernote Web Clipper 5.9.1) https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/evernote-web-clipper/ regretfully it receives a 'mediocre rating' at best (latest reviews are 1-star only) Thanks! -
  4. After updating the Evernote Web plug in for Chrome I'm finding that it will not allow me to clip certain sites. I get a "cannot save clip" error. What does this mean? Would be helpful if the error was more descriptive. The page I was trying to clip is http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/9-11-the-view-from-the-midwest-20110819?print=true Regards, Joe
  5. I'm running Yosemite and upgraded to Evernote 6.0. I launched the app and when I tried to log in, I kept getting user/pass errors although I know what I was entering was correct. I tried a different email address just in case, and somehow ended up logged in to that account. My account is always under email1 (I checked through the web app) but somehow I'm logged in to email2, with no notes or premium features. Every time I try to log out, Evernote freezes. I have to force quit the app every time. I see that the Evernote Helper is not responding, as is the main Evernote process. I've restarted, closed all programs, uninstalled Evernote, reinstalled the software, restarted again, and cannot get passed the process Not Responding. My intent is to log out so I can log in to my actual account. Anyone else having this issues? Evernote, are you aware of this?
  6. How do i get to connect with an evernote person re my account and upgrade/
  7. Hi Evernote, I just want to post a suggestion. I've been using Evernote for a year now and the more I use it, the more I realize it proves my doubts about it's functionality wrong. I have two issues, though, with Evernote in its current state. A). the GUI/Design is getting more and more outdated as other competing apps entering the market have more modern GUI's and design. They may not hold up to Evernote's functionality and operational integrity, which should be most important, but I must admit, that I am still very much influenced by the design of an app, and in some instances, have been known to stick with a sub par performing app soley because of it's cool design in the hopes that its functionality will ultimately catch up. That said, I have no doubts about the brilliance of Evernote, but, please, if you are reading this, upgrade your GUI; you can start by changing the outdated icons in the sidebar; likewise, the "notebook" icons are, IMHO, not even worth having. I never use that view mainly because the iconography is very outdated. To put it in perspective, the mobile app is very brilliantly designed. Match that brilliance with a complete design upgrade to the desktop app. . When it comes to "clipping" web articles/pages, Evernote really excels at this. I've tried other apps like Stache and Pocket that just don't hold up to the convenience of using Evernote's web clipper, and I'll even say that the way Evernote archives your clippings to your notebook, particularly the "simplified article' view is great. However, I wish that while viewing web clippings in a notebook you could simply press the space bar and get a functioning "preview" of the article that would include functionality to play a youtube video - if the page was in fact of a youtube video - and so on and so forth. The app Stache has this ability, but, again, it doesn't compare to the convenience and style of Evernote. I also wish Evernote web clipper gave you the added option to basically extract all the text from a web page and lay out on a white canvas that is actually saved as a text document that can be read offline. Currently there is no way that I know of to read saved articles without an internet connection.
  8. Dear, Evernote tried to upgrade to a version 5.2. That didn't work properly and now I have the following issues: 1) Evernote does not show as being installed. (control panel - uninstall program) 2) When trying to run the 5.2 installer again, it gives me an error message: 'U hebt onvoldoende bevoegheden voor deze map c:\program files (x86)\Evernote. De installatie.......' As local adminsitrator of this machine, I wonder then who has.... 3) When going to c:\program files (x86)\Evernote to have a look, I cannot access, by via security I also cannot pull the ownership to me. 4) When going to the TEMP directory, to delete the evernote.msi and then try to run the installation again, it still won't let me. (item 2) So I cannot use Evernote (which I actually really become to appreciate both for work as private), but I cannot delete it and install again either. Many thanks for your help.
  9. When I select the Upgrade To Premium option from the Mac app, the price is £31.99/year. When I try the same upgrade from the web interface, the price is £35/year. Why the difference? I will also note that the US dollar price, $45, is currently equivalent to £28.83.
  10. I'm just nervously sitting through a period of inactivity while my laptop recreates my database - I moved to a new laptop a while ago and had some problems, so I need to remove and reinstall everything. Since I've recommended that to a number of other people in the past, I figure it's karma coming back to bite me in the apps. I took all the necessary precautions - exported notes, backed up the current database, brewed coffee; and then did the deed a couple of days ago. It's taking a while, because Evernote is notoriously slow with this process, I have a lot of notes and because I realised I made a mistake at one point and had to start again. Today. So I'm looking at a lack of Evernote for the next 48 hours at least, while we catch back up again. While I'm sitting here, staring at my desktop, I wondered. Why is it that I can now see snippets, thumbnails and notes in full, while Evernote is still chugging along with the sync? Apparently each note is downloaded and displayed in full for my convenience, even though I'm currently missing 90% of the database and searches would be pretty pointless. I don't plan on adding anything to Evernote either until my note count is back to normal - I can't check whether I already have a note on any given topic, and I don't want to take the chance of interrupting (or slowing) the sync with any other activity at all until it's done. So why the eye-candy? Evernote is obviously doing all its housekeeping in the background and will be ready for action when - eventually - the sync is done. I'd like to suggest an alternative. Dear Developers, Please can you look at a way of allowing someone who is reinstalling or moving their application the option of downloading their database like a normal download file in one hit (if they wish) along with the latest installation package. The download could happen in the background, over a day or two, without requiring that I keep Evernote active on my system or even have it installed at that point. Once I have my install package and the database I can connect everything up and get going. A sync would still be necessary because I might have changed notes online or via another client; but it would be a normal 'update' sync rather than a mega-install. I'm sure there might be operational downsides for Evernote, but from my current client-side view it sure as heck would improve the user experience when reinstalling or moving the app to another computer. Just a suggestion...
  11. Does Evernote not provide an "update" within the app? Seems like I had to go to the website and grab the latest version in order to upgrade versions. I did so. I'm on 5.1 and I grabbed the latest DMG which looks to contain 5.3. When I tried to move it into Apps (to upgrade) I got the following error without any info as to which files need to be unlocked: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s169/sh/f0b05a5a-00db-4290-827d-859de5579ae2/08fd95447263ab94c29cc2fe5217a1a6 Thanks for the help, just trying to get Evernote updated. Dan
  12. In other words, any word about when is the new UI coming to windows?
  13. I hope you folks will try to understand this. I don't need any of the premium features. Were I to upgrade, it would be for only one reason: to keep Evernote robust, and just because "you're you". I like Evernote because it's a powerful dumb data handler. I don't use the word "dumb" in an insulting way. It's actually a *compliment*! Evernote simply does its job: it's all about the user. The user's data is "here" (wherever the user is) and Evernote moves it "there" (to Evernote). Then whenever the user is "here" again (maybe the same place, maybe somewhere else, on a different device), Evernote moves it from "there" to "here". Simple as that. No fluff, no guff. I sincerely hope Evernote doesn't go fancy and build ties to Facebook and Twitter and Google Plus and Microsoft and...whoever. I want, just, Evernote, *pure* and simple. Evernote is power. Evernote is the ultimate cloud service. KISS.
  14. Hi a few weeks ago I received an email from Evernote, long story short, if I upgraded to premium I would get an extra year of premium services. Is that promotion over? Thanks

  16. Hi, I am looking to upgrade to evernote premium. I am from India. Will it be ok to upgrade. I mean payments are being made in US dollars, so will there be any problem in upgrading?
  17. I recently upgraded to Evernote 3.1.2 via the Mac App Store and when I went to sync my newest web clip it doubled all of my notes and folders and maxed out my allowance! Is there something I did wrong or any way to revert this? If I delete the duplicated notes, will the originals stay intact? Thanks in advance for any help or information!
  18. [EDIT: RESOLVED] Hi, I was trying to pay for an extension of my premium account via the Play Store (because I had had some addressing issues via web and credit card) but noticed the info was displayed in Russian. I've been seeing Russian topics here, and doing a search I noticed there's more Russian around. Not an issue, but for renewing my premium over my Play and credit card account I would like to see what it is I'm actually paying for. First time I did this, everything was still in English...
  19. Many, many thanks to Evernote for upgrading the security of third party Trunk apps. In an Evernote Tech Blog released today (Apr 24, 2012), Evernote announced: This is huge!!!! This fills what was, IMO, a big security hole in using Trunk apps. Previously Trunk Apps had full permissions to your Evernote account to read, create, edit ALL your Notes, when maybe the app only needed "Create" permission (like adding a new text Note, or a new snapshot). Now (as of Nov 1, 2012) Trunk Apps will have to meet much stricter security process, and can be limited to only the permissions the app actually needs to do its job. Many thanks to Evernote for listening to our security concerns and requests, and making this major step forward to providing an even more secure environment for our Evernote Notes.
