  1. Whenever I try to add a tag to a note, Evernote presents me with the previously used tags. While that's helpful, what is very frustrating is the behavior if I am not selecting one of the recommended tags. For example, I want to add the tag 'SQL Conventions'. When I start typing and type a capital S, the first recommended tag has a lower case 's' and Evernote converts my upper case 'S' to a lower case 's'. Even if I keep typing and add the capital 'Q' my Evernote shows my tag as 'sQ'. I have to complete the tag, set the cursor to the 's' and then replace it with 'S'. This makes adding tags take
  2. I have created some tags and applied them to various notes. When I remove a tag from the last note the tag is automatically deleted. Is there a way to change this behavior? I would like to keep the tags around for future use. Thanks, Brad
  3. As a long-time EN Premium User (who exclusively have been using the Mac application) I love the option "filter by tags" that you can use in every notebook. But now I've just realized that when I share a notebook and then open it in a browser then you can't use the option "filter by tags" which I find extremely annoying and unproductive. Because now I can't recommend Evernote for my company (where I work as an an archivist) since the whole idea was that I could enter thousands of sources and then the staff at my firm would be able to find what they're looking for through the "filter by tags" o
  4. Easily copy-pasting tags between notes are possible in Evernote Mac version, as far as I know, it would be nice if it's possible in Evernote app for mobile devices. Right now the closest way to achieve that is by duplicating an existing tagged note, clearing its content, then copy pasting a new content to it. But if the copy-pasted content has formatting, clipped from websites for example, then sometimes the formatting will be screwed. It'll be nice if there's simply a "duplicate tags only" aside from "duplicate note" option in the menu.
  5. So I started using Evernote much more this year than in previous years. I'm a writer and it's easy to organize my thoughts with my notebooks, etc. My problem is this: On my tablet and on my phone, I have no issues accessing my notebooks or my tags. On the web app, I see the icon for my tags but can't click on it and I see no way to look at all of my notebooks. This is frustrating because I frequently jump from notebook to notebook and I can't seem to do this on the do this on the website (or web app, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at).
  6. The Ctrl-Alt-T's shortcoming is no filtering support, so we have to look for the target tag in a stack only with our eyes , which is so slow and ineffective. The Alt-F2 and Drag way's shortcoming is that, once after I add a tag to a certain note in the -tag:* search list, this note will disappear in the note list immediately, because it's no longer compliant with -tag:*, which make it impossible to add the follow-up tags. If the tag on the toolbar support not only prefix match, but also searching, it indeed completely solves my needs. But it seems not support yet, right?
  7. I have a pretty large way of managing my tags/ nested tags. I begin by creating categories of tags - herein my example is "Tags by Partners" Then I nest tags within those categories. However one thing I noticed is that when I nest them with the categories I made, they are not organized or sorted in an alphabetic manner - And there is no way to organize or sort them according to my own preference. I am using a Macbook Pro - OS Sierra by the way.
  8. I think I've tried every possible button in the interface, but I can't find any way to create a new tag ( NOT add an existing tag to a note) in Evernote on the iPad. Also found no help in the knowledge base. Is there really no way to do this?!?
  9. I have tags - Q1,Q2,Q3 and Q4. I would like to find any notes that do not have at least one of these tags. I have tried: any: -tag:Q1 -tag:Q2 -tag:Q3 - tag:Q4 but this doesn't work. I have tried same with -any: at the beginning. I have tried tag:-Q1 tag:-Q2 tag:-Q3 tag:-Q4 and with any: at the beginning. Grateful for any help. thanks
  10. Hey guys, Whenever I work with clients I create a project like CALMERA Project in Evernote and I use tags to tag. I have been experiencing a problem when people reply on these mails. Because the next notes do not get into my Evernote book any more. CALMERA is a note book in Evernote. #leon is the name of the person #2016 is the tag of year 2016. I create an email with the subject @CALMERA Project This email is about progress #leon #2016. I put everything in the body plus attachment. I send it to the client client@gmail.com and I cc my evernote ema
  11. Hello, When using Web Clipper I'd want predefined tag "web" to be always included, but when I set it up in preferences, saving new settings and making a new clip the tag "web" doesn't get included. When I go to the preferences again I can see "Always Markup with Tag" (or whatever it's in English, I'm using the Finnish language version) setting checked but the tag "web" is not shown anymore. I'm capturing screenshots with the Web Clipper. Is this a bug? I'm using an iMac with macOS Sierra 10.12.3 and Safari 10.0.3.
  12. I was surprised to discover that when I have nested tags I cannot find notes within the nesting hierarchy by filtering on the parent tag. For example, if I have parent tag "photography" and child tag "portraits" I cannot find notes tagged with portraits by filtering on photography. This seems like a very useful option which is missing. I may not remember that I tagged a particular note as "portraits" but I know that it falls under the more general tag "photography." It's great if I can remember the more specific tag in which case I get to my note more quickly. But if I don't remember I should
  13. Hi, I know it's as designed that selecting a parent tag doesn't include notes that only have a child tag applied to it. However, I would really like this feature. I don't mind if it's a setting that should be set in the preferences or something like that, but it would make some things really a lot easier. Thanks, Tom
  14. I need to see the tags in the lists. Without this it is impossible to use. You suddenly hid them, and there the information necessary for searching and navigating, the description of the content. Earlier in the lists I could see the content type: file, schema, article, instruction. Now I can not.
  15. Hello, I am attempting to use Evernote to organize my files and need some help. I am a pastor attempting to catalog and organize my past and future sermons. They are written documents and what I would like to do is highlight quotes, stories, statistics, etc. tag them appropriately, and have them automatically added to a master file of quotes. Is there anyway to tag and organize portions of a document without simply copying and pasting over and over? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks,
  16. Good day all. Long time Evernote user, finally seeing the light on tags vs notebooks. So I am slowly moving into tags for whats in Evernote, but my main workflow is from email corepsondance I get. That said, when I forward an email into Evernote, Im missing the last tag. For example, if I forward an email and the subject is "Super important Email #tag1 #tag2 tag3 !tomorrow" Evernote gets it, with tags Tag1, Tag2, but #tag3 shows up in the subject. What more, sometimes NONE of the tags go through. What am I doing wrong?
  17. I am currently using evernote for mac. When adding a new note, I have always been able to click on the tag icon at the top of the note and get a drop down list of my current tags. Just recently I lost the ability to use this tag icon to get a drop down list of my tags. For the life of me I cannot work out why? I am running macOS Sierra 10.12.4. It did coincide with a web clipper error too where the tags were going in backwards i.e. 'gat' instead of 'tag' but I checked the forum and reinstalled webclipper and that seemed to assist. Many thanks in advance.
  18. Hello, I am not able to add tags for shared notebooks: "Tags not supported". It does not work on Chrome (44.0.2403.125 (64-bit)) WebClipper version: 6.5.3 nor on Safari (same version). Do you have a solution for this? Thanks!
  19. I cannot add or edit tags in this version. I click on the icon and nothing happens. The notebook icon brings ujp the notebook list. Is it a unique problem for me? Fixes?
  20. Hi Everyone, I'm trying to edit tags inside a note on the web version without success. On the Mac and Windows Version I'm able to do it, by double clicking the tag. Is there a way to edit a tag, inside the note, on the web version? (without deleting it and creating the new one) I tried on Safari and Chrome.
  21. Mac OS has a feature in Keyboard preferences that will replace a character sequence you type with a different one. I'm trying to use this to create my own "star tags" since Evernote refuses to add these to the product. For example, I've set the feature to replace "3 star" (without the space) with "★★★". This works when editing a note's text. But it doesn't work when adding tags, and it should.
  22. Hi, I've seen that to find untagged notes, one can search using criteria: -tag:* Does anyone know if theres a similar way to find tags not assigned to any notes? Of course it is possible to navigate to tags and observe number of notes indicated behind the tag name, however I am asking about search criteria. Please share your ideas. Cheers. Naz.
  23. Hello! Am I the only one who am bothered that we can't search for tags or notebooks in the Evernote extension clipper in iOS? I'm sure I'm not the only one using Evernote that have an extensive tags collections in combination with a lot of notebooks. This means that every time I want to add something I try to clip from say Safari, I need to scroll all the way to find the right tag, which most of the time can't be done easily. Especially when I'm on the run. I can't seem to find any other thread about this issue, so hope this reach the right people and that it can become included in
  24. In Evernote Desktop, there is a feature that you can search directly within a certain notebook, and if you search tags, it will display tags from only within that notebook (not from other notebooks). In Evernote Web, you're limited only to the search function that displays every notebook and the tag function which also displays every notebook. It makes it hard for me to organize a single class's Unit 6 notes (tagged with Unit 6) from other classes' Unit 6 notes in Evernote Web. I think it will be a nice feature to add that search feature.
  25. When your in evernote application in Windows. You have the ability to assign tags (Tag Note = CTRL+ALT+T). You get a list of Tags (see Attached) It would be nice, when your view tags in this screen if it showed the tags nested. For example, All the test tags in the screen shot are actually create underneath another Tag. It would be nice if your in the assign tag screen that you can choose a view to see the tags in their nested state instead of all the tags being flat.
