  1. A colleagues and I work together by sharing a few notebooks. Mostly she has the master copies I have the notebook shared with me so that it appears in my account. She continues to the legacy version of Evernote - I have v10.8.5 and legacy installed on my PC. Both using Windows 10. We realised that we both have a few tags that we use that are identical for us each. Not a big deal but it meant that the tag appears in the tag list twice. In the legacy version her tags appear in my taglist but with her username alongside eg: accounts (iris_rhodes) So in legacy the list looks
  2. The tag improvements are a great help; thank you! And… For those of us who are hardcore tag users with hundreds (I think) of tags, who apply four or five tags to nearly every note, the multi-column Tag Editor is still sorely missed. I used it in both the Alpha and the Note Count views, which made it easy to spot mistyped tags or tags that proved to be unhelpful. The single-column flyout is good for maybe a hundred tags, but it bogs down for heavy users. I'll make do with it, but even on a Retina 27 inch screen it's hard to consolidate tags in this view. So my request: please res
  3. Just want to report an issue as solved that did not make it to the release notes. With rel. 10.2 it was possible to add tags directly when using the „Share to Evernote“ process. Very nice, the tags imported, but when the new note synced, the tags got lost. Clearly a bug, reported by myself and probably many others via support ticket. This is fixed in release 10.3 : When creating a new note through „share“, like a web clip, you can assign tags, and they will now stay and sync to other devices as well.
  4. Tags are great but mispelling or subtle word variation can create undesired tags. Normally one find out about a wrong tags exactly when you need to use it. You want to tag note, start typing ahead to find your existing tag and the one you find is mispelled. You can choose to use it and make a reminder to review your tag later, but it's an unnatural process Please add "Rename tag" to the tag menu displayed when clicking the arrow near the tag itself. It would be a great help to keep tags neat and consistent
  5. The new version of Evernote does not seem to have a well defined behavior for the sort order of tags visible in a note. For example, in legacy versions of Evernote, a tag with a dot (".") or other special characters such as "#" would appear ahead of all other tags in a note. Whereas, in the newer versions of Evernote, the tag sort order seems to follow no particular pattern. It is not alphabetical, neither does it prioritize special characters like the legacy version. It would be nice if a user can customize this or if at least the sort order is well defined and documented.
  6. It would be really great if you could assign and select a colour for different tags. It will be visually easier and quicker to find notes with a particular tag, when looking though all notes in a particular notebook.
  7. I use a Mac, but I think this request is relevant to all Evernote versions. Once we select a notebook and click on the filter to choose a tag, we should only be presented to tags related to that notebook like it was before v10. There's no point on being presented to tags that are not present on that notebook. It creates confusion and makes selecting tags harder.
  8. If I create a new Tag and apply it to a note or use an existing Tag and apply it to a note, the Tag counter shows the total number of notes with that Tag, but it takes several seconds for the filter to show that note (or notes) with that Tag on the list. The attached video was recorded on a Mac (10.3.6 build 2001), but I tested and found the same problem on Evernote for web and people on my community also reported it happening on Evernote for Windows. 1313341277_TagsLagging.mov
  9. When I click on a tag which has subtags, EverNote automatically adds a filter for every subtag, and applies an "All" operator to the search. Of course, there are then no matches. This is not the behavior in iOS, where only a filter for the selected tag itself is added. Wasn't the idea that all platforms would act alike?
  10. Hello I hope I am posting in the right place. I have been an Evernote user for a long time. I'm not able to script and for the most part I'm just happy to borrow little snippets of things. Anyway, I've noticed some changes with the new build and suddenly the script I was using to transfer files to Evernote no longer works. I use Hazel to trigger certain actions, including adding files to Evernote. Until a couple of days ago. For example, I had this script: tell application "Evernote" activate «event EVRNcrnt» given «class kfil»:theFile, «class Ennb»:{"French"},
  11. If I go to a lower level tag, the notes in that tag show up. However, if I go to top level tag (i.e office 365 in this picture) it does not display all the notes from within the tags.
  12. Barry's 10.1.4 post & the update reveals no coming change for tags. EV needs a Tag Window that allows for comprehensive Tag Editing. I'd love to hear that a better Tag editing system is being given serious attention. Better yet, I'd enjoy knowing it is tasked for a coming update. Step 1 Return to a tag window with functions as it was in 7.14. Step 2 Merge multiple tags Move multiple tags Rename multiple tags Step 2 Section 2 Add these tag editing functions in the Tag pop-up menu accessed through a notes Tag-bar at the bottom o
  13. Please make it possible to select more than one tag at a time so that I can take action on the group and not just one tag. (Same with Notebooks) Thus I'd be able to: Move; Delete; Go Top-level; Remove from short-cuts; Create sub-tag in; and Combine; 10 tags in one click. ALSO Merge tags (combine all notes from a tag or group of tags to one target tag) A batch tag Rename editor. EV programming team, you can do this. It is long overdue. A part of a comprehensive tag editing system. Example: 34 tags are named for the participants of the Boston meeting 2020. 28 of t
  14. : When I search Tags, now it suggests ones only those strictly the same in the name. It is hard when I do not remember the title completely. : I want to a list of All tags have a character in a certain manner like Alphabetically or Chronologically. Thanks!
  15. Hi, I have a hierarchical tag structure. But when I click on the primary/top level tag, I can't see the notes containing the sub tags, only notes with primary tags are show. I remember this feature used to be there. Couldn't find a way to do it through preferences also. Please suggest a way.
  16. Hey guys, So I think I have to review how folks use tags versus notesbook and I am now starting to get it somewhat. Lesson: Focus on less notebooks, more tags. Use tags to organize and label. Idea: When going to a notebook, be able to scroll through all tags used in that notebook Why?: Provides an insight into what all may be in that notebook and you can re-discover content you may have missed or mislabeled or misplaced Caveats: I have a notebook called "File Cabinet" and in it I store everything I collect from the series of tubes (i.e the interwebs). News articles, inspira
  17. Could not locate this topic while searching, so here is my suggestion: Clicking on the arrow on the right side of a tag in a note shows you all the notes with that same tag, but if you want to add that tag to shortcuts, you have to locate it first in the tag list. It would be helpful to be able to do it from the note (or even from the notelist), maybe as one of the menu options when you right click on the tag .
  18. ⌘-Del would make a fine shortcut for it. I end up forgetting it doesn't have one and try using it. It feels like a natural fit.
  19. I have been using tags for a long time with Evernote. But when I try searching for a note, I get so many results that I have to wade through, and most of them don't even seem related to my search inquiry. Is there a way to get results closer to what I am looking for? I have tried using two or three keywords only, but still get too many notes not even close to what I am looking for.
  20. In Android, there is no option to copy a note. The duplicate option will create a copy but with the 'tags' in it. When using templates, during duplicating a template file creates a copy of that template as a note, with the tags given for template. If I use add some tags to a template note, this will not copied when I use 'copy note' function in Windows but not in Web & Android.
  21. Any way we can assign tags to images in a note(or at least insert a tag line on top of a image in that note)? I have lots of images in one note so I can browse through them easily by swiping left/right in IOS/Android Apps. But some images share the same characteristics so I want to assign a tag for these images. Right now I have to create separate folders to manually sort out all images in "Main folder", say folder 1, folder 2. I use main folder to insert all images and I use sorting folders to group images sharing the same characteristics. I have to manually copy each image in main
  22. Hi-I am running the latest version of High Sierra (10.13.4) and Evernote (7.2). I have seen this issue with tags for awhile now. I have 18,000+ notes. I am a paid user. It used to be that I would start typing in a tag name to rename it and the list would pull up (*see additional information). Not anymore. It used to be that if I didn't type anything into the tag search box, all my tags would be listed. Not anymore. I used to be able to see all my tags (when selecting Tags in the sidebar) and delete the ones with zero count. Not anymore. *In order to rename a tag I have
  23. When adding tags to a note on Evernote for Mac, a list of matching tags populate a dropdown that narrow as you type. On the iOS app, all partial matches are shown, whereas on Mac and Web clients, the matching tags are only by start of text match. I would prefer partial match across all clients for consistency and easier tag adding.
  24. Some of my shortcut items are tags, and some of these have nested tags underneath them in my hierarchy. When I click on the down-arrow next to the "mother tag" all the babies appear. All well and good. But when I add new subordinate tags to these existing ones, even after syncing Evernote doesn't show these new tags in the drop-down menu. I have to delete the tag from Shortcuts and re-add it to make the new one appear. This seems like a bug.
  25. I find very often that lots of new notes in a notebook will use the same tags as the first note in the notebook when I am paying statements and create the notes by sharing to Evernote from a pdf... It would be so fast and easy to be able to copy the tags from the first note and paste (or share) the tags to the subsequent notes as they are created and added to the folder. Please add this feature!
